Vitamin E is an antioxidant that protects and repairs your skin.Antioxidants are agents that neutralize the oxidant effect of free radicals, which are molecules that damage collagen and cause skin dryness, fine lines and wrinkles . A simple chemistry lesson can explain how vitamin E does this. The atoms that comprise your body try to maintain an even number of electrons -- that's what makes them stable. If an atom has an uneven number of electrons, it will steal an electron from another atom to become stable. When your skin takes a beating from outside factors, such as the sun's ultraviolet rays, your body can produce free radicals. Free radicals are atoms with an uneven number of electrons, and when they form inside your body, they steal electrons from healthy cells like the ones that make up your skin. This can cause a damaging chain reaction, and that's where antioxidants like vitamin E come in action. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals and prevent cellular damage from occurring. Vitamin E is one of the most powerful antioxidants, but your body can't produce it, which means you have to make sure you're getting enough of this valuable nutrient in your diet. Eating foods high in vitamin E and taking vitamin E supplements if you can't get enough through your food intake you cant help prevent premature aging of your skin and damage to your DNA .It is a fact that taking vitamin E long term can even reduce sunburns from exposure to UVB radiation. This doesn't mean that taking vitamins or applying topical vitamin E will allow you to safely bake in the sun, but you can help your skin stay healthier and more supple by ensuring you get enough of this antioxidant vitamin How to use VITAMIN –E externally Remove three vitamin E capsules from the vitamin bottle, and lay them on a paper towel. Use a needle to poke a small hole in each capsule, and squeeze the oil into a small jar until only the skin of the capsule is left. Stir in 1 tsp. of olive oil to make the the vitamin E more pliable ( because VIT-E is sticky in nature)when you apply it to your skin. Dab the vitamin E oil gently around your eyes, forehead and mouth to prevent and improve facial wrinkles .Pure vitamin E can help decrease facial roughness found in wrinkles and fine lines.

Dear Mr. lybrate-user, Anxiety and stress is often percieved by different people in different ways. In your case, getting stressed on even small things can be suggestive of an underlying psychiatric disorder (mainly anxiety spectrum disorder). The best way forward is to get yourself evaluated by a psychiatrist. Accordingly, treatment can be started in form of medications or psychotherapy. In addition, you should consider learning relaxation exercises like meditation and deep breathing. Start exercising daily. Talk to someone close to vent your feelings daily. I do hope, you are able to beat your anxiety. Best wishes.

I am diabetic type 2 male person aged 73 years. I am on oral medication. My everyday dose is as follows. Morning empty stomach 1 tablet Glyclazide 80mg plus i tablet 500 mg merformine. Evening before dinner 2 tablet 80 mg Glyclazide plus 1 tablet 500 mg Metformin. With this my sugar remains under control. Last testing done 2 months back indicate HbA1c as 7.1 and fasting sugar level 112 and post meals as 143. I have one more problem the waistline is constantly going up. It measures 40 inches on date. My height is 5feet 5.5 inches and weight 77 Kgs. I have no extra flesh except at belly. My BP level is also well under control. Earlier my HbA1c was 6.9. I donot know why the belly fat is going up with my best care. Some people tell me it is because of Metformin which I am taking. Please advise what care i should take to reduce the belly fat. Further what care I can take to reduce my HbA1c reading. My creatine level of kidney is also at 1.3 the last limit.

I am pretty sure the people who tell you that your belly fat is because of metformin are either not doctors or self declared degree less doctors. Metformin is the basic medicine which helps to decrease the belly fat and BMI of a diabetic its a wonderful drug and you are taking minimal amount only which is moderate dose. Gliclazide may increase your belly fat as it is insulin secreting drugs and insulin is a anabolic hormone and puts weight on you. i suggest change your medication. You can easily increase metformin to a maximum of 2 grams in divided dose. For further consultation kindly come in private question section.

Be gentle with wet hair. Avoid rubbing your hair dry and also avoid combing through wet hair. Your hair is more susceptible to breakage when wet and the result will a a clump in your brush and stray strands at your feet.

Hi lybrate-user Try Naturopathy and never use other medicines or supplements, read the below tips to gain maximum health benefits: 1. Make sure you have your head in the south or east direction while sleeping. In this position your body is taking force of attraction. Sleeping in north is very unhealthy and will make you tired and lethargic because your body is taking force of repulsion. Attraction bring elasticity, ease, good blood pressure, sound sleep, relaxation, increase in height while North brings high BP, quick heart beats, muscle and internal body part contraction, your breathing will affect. In Indian culture head of the Dead body during Antim sanskar is kept in North direction. In west direction researches are going on, so don’t sleep till researches come. 2. It is advisable that you consume" cow ghee" take 1 spoon of cow ghee and warm it, With the help of a dropper, Pour one drop of cow ghee in each of your nostril. It may sound weird or a hectic job at first but trust me it is the most effective remedy for any kind of problem related to health. It Makes your head nerves lighter and healthier that too without any side effects. Cow ghee reaches those areas in your head where allopathic and homeopathic medicines fails to reach. 3. In the morning start consuming lukewarm water right after you wake up & sitting in sukhasaan (chaukdi) (see image) it is advisable to even do rinsing with the lukewarm water in your mouth and gulp it after that. Drink your water sip by sip instead of drinking it in speed, this process is done for the detoxification and cleaning of your stomach/intestines that has everything to with your health issues. After this your stomach condition will remain intact at pH7 condition (which is not alkaline or acidic in nature but neutral). The alkaline or saliva (laar) of your mouth should mix with the acid of your stomach to make stomach in neutral. This is only possible if you are drinking water sip by sip, slowly each time you consume water. This will not just help you in attaining a proper health but will keep you away from other health and weakness problems, which comes from the acids produced in stomach. In Ayurveda it is said to through this formula you can live for 100 years without disease or stress. You should also eat your all meals sitting in sukhasana (check image) 4. Other advice is that don’t drink water after your meals (lunch, dinner, breakfast, or any mini meal). Drink water after 90 minutes of meals. Drinking water after your meals reduces your digestion, and as you know if food is not digested it will produce acid, which in turn will increase your weight. Scientifically it is proved that food takes at least 90 minutes to digest, drinking water during that 90 minutes will bring almost 68 types of diseases of stomach. 5. Make sure you are walking at least 5000 to 12, 000 steps every day. It is strongly recommended that you start with a jogging regime also if possible. I suggest you to buy a Pedometer which will calculate your daily steps, Pedometer will cost you just Rs 300 from market but will help you a lot. 6. Start doing surya namaskar, its more than a weight loss exercise. From improving your posture, strengthening muscles to whittling extra inches around the waist, the benefits of Suryanamaskar are many, provided you adapt it the right way. A set of 12 fixed, cyclic postures define Suryanamaskar which when performed repeatedly at an easy pace can bring a sense of well being, almost immediately. However, those with a heart condition, arthritis or slip-disk, need their doctor's consent before starting the routine. 7. You should avoid late night dinners at any cost and make sure you are following a routine while having 3 main course meals of the day. Try having your dinner before sunset and not eat anything heavy after sunset this will surely help you with a better health. Try to sleep before 11: 00 P. M. And sleep for minimum 6 to 8 hours. Lack of sleep is also a leading factor of bad health. 8. Avoid processed food, sugar and its products as well as refined oil/double refined oil. Use pure oil of mustard (sarso), peanut, coconut, cow ghee, sesame. When you put 10 to 12 chemicals in these oils then they become refined oil and bring almost 68 diseases along with weight gain and bad health. Don’t follow what this television advertisement says about refined oil. It is all marketing. EAT PURE OILS. 9. Listen the music you love when you feel tired, music has a therapeutic energy and reduces stress and makes you energetic. 10. Bhramari pranayama is very effective in instantly calming your mind down. It is one of the best breathing exercises to release the mind of agitation, frustration or anxiety and get rid of anger. A simple-to-do technique, can be practiced anywhere at work or home, and an instant option available to de-stress yourself. 11. This breathing technique derives its name from the black Indian bee called Bhramari. (Bhramari = type of Indian bee; pranayama = breathing technique). Get done anemia profile tests, it will help in identifying cause of anemia. Meanwhile start Syrup DexOrange 2 tsf (10 ml) three times a day after 2-3 hours of meals. Lemon water/ orange juice helps in iron absorption. Do not take tea/ coffee/ milk with it. Take iron rich diet i.e. Jaggery, dry fruits (apricot, almonds, cashew nuts, pea nuts, raisins), green leafy vegetables (broccoli, spinach, green peppers, peas, turnip greens, lentil sprouts), meats (liver is the best source), boiled lentils/ soyabean/ beans/ chickpeas, dried coconut, potatoes, beet etc. Make them a place in your regular diet.

Hi lybrate-user here are 6 ways to gain weight healthily: 1. Eating 5 to 6 meals a day in order to gain weight, start eating 5-6 meals a day by breaking them into parts. Eating a lot at once may cause indigestion if the body fails to absorb all nutrients. Eat in small amounts, even if you are not hungry and there will be an increase in appetite from day to day. The aim should be to have a generously portioned breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as two to three snacks in between. 2. Start weight training if you build your muscles through weight training, it will convert the extra weight into lean body mass and also stimulate your appetite. The extra muscle increases the rate of metabolism. When you start exercising you will often experience extreme muscle soreness but it goes away in 3-5 days. 3. Load up on protein besides weight training, a protein-rich diet can help you gain mass. Eating a meal heavy in protein shortly after finishing exercise can be highly effective in adding extra pounds to your body. However, a diet focused only on lean protein is not helpful. It is important to make sure that your diet has plenty of fat in it. Eat foods rich in protein like cheese, meat, eggs, etc to gain weight in a healthy manner. 4. Workout your entire body a lot of people focus only on training the muscles on their arms, chest and shoulders and this is a grave error. Firstly, it will give you a disproportionate body; and it will make you prone to injuries. Therefore, it's important to work out the entire body for a complete and balanced look. 5. Drink your calories to reach the calorie requirement only by eating may be tough. Drinking milk, milkshakes or protein shakes with little or no sugar can be an effective way to load up on the calorie requirements. 6. Be patient and believe in yourself gaining weight quickly in a healthy manner is unrealistic. Every body type is different and it takes months to gain weight. Living healthy by eating the right diet will increase your strength. It is also important to keep following the routine even if you don't see any gains. Caution: junk food and fried foods must be avoided; although have a tendency to add more fat to your body but are very low in vitamins and minerals which are essentially required to keep you really fit.
