For dark spots left by pimples: •Put some fresh lemon juice on a cotton ball and rub it directly on the affected skin area. •Allow it to dry and then wash it off with plain water. •Continue applying this dark spot removal home remedy for at least two weeks to get the desired result.

Preparing for exams can be stressful but sleeping is equally important, whatever you have read during day will be retained in your brain as memory and you can easily recall it during exam if you have good sleep. Sleep for 1.8 hour per day continuously, not in divided hours 2. Sleep at same time every day 3. Quick 15-20 min naps are good all the best for your exams.

Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold). Contrast bath---It is a form of treatment knee is applied warm water followed by the immediate application of the knee with ice water. This procedure is repeated several times, alternating hot and cold. Note that the treatment should always end in the ice water, as heat will induce the body's inflammatory response, while cold helps to decrease inflammation.

Stricture Urethra - Signs You Should Not Ignore!

MBBS, MS-General Surgery, DNB
Urologist, Delhi
Stricture Urethra - Signs You Should Not Ignore!

The tube transporting urine from the bladder out of the body is known as the urethra. Under normal circumstances, this tube is wide enough for urine to flow freely but in some cases, one or more section can get narrowed and restrict the flow of urine. This may be diagnosed as a urethral stricture. This length of this stricture can range from 1 cm to affecting the entire length of the urethra.

This is caused by scar tissue or inflammation of tissue in the urethra. While this is a common condition that affects men, it is rarely seen to affect women. An enlarged prostate, exposure to STDs like gonorrhoea or chlamydia, suffering from an infection that causes urethral inflammation and irritation or having had a catheter recently inserted can increase the risk of suffering from a urethral stricture. An injury or tumour located near the urethra can also cause this condition. Hence, preventing this condition is not always a possibility.

Common symptoms to look out for include:

  1. Inability to urinate
  2. Reduction in the flow of urine
  3. Increased urge to urinate frequently
  4. Pain while urinating
  5. Urinary incontinence
  6. Abdominal pain
  7. Swelling of the penis
  8. Discharge from the urethra
  9. Blood in the urine or semen
  10. Dark urine
  11. The bladder feeling gull even after urinating

A physical examination and tests that measure the rate of urine flow and chemical composition of the urine can help a doctor determine a diagnosis of urethral strictures. You may also need to undergo STD tests and a cystoscopy. An X-ray may also help locate the stricture. The treatment for this condition depends on the severity of the symptoms.

Non-surgical treatment for this condition involves using a dilator to widen the urethra. However, there is no guarantee the blockage will not recur at a later date. Alternatively, a permanent catheter may also be inserted.

There are two forms of surgical treatment for a urethral stricture.

  • Open urethroplasty: This involves removing the infected or scar tissue and restructuring the urethra. The results of this procedure depend on the size of the blockage. It is usually advised only in cases of long, severe strictures.
  • Urine flow diversion: In the case of a severe blockage and damage to the bladder, the doctor may advise rerouting the flow of urine to an abdominal opening. This process involves connecting the ureters to an incision in the abdomen with the help of part of the intestines. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Urologist.

First of all check your posture when you are lifting any material like heavy bucket. And try to lift the heavy bucket without bending your back. You may lift the bucket after bending your knees only. This will definitely help you. * gentle massage with lukewarm mustard oil of your waist area will also give you relief. * surya namaskar is only exercise which you need to do. * in diet vegetable protein of cereal, b complex supplements and half teaspoon of haldi in a cup of milk for seven days will give you enough relief.

Throughout life. Allopathy controls well, does not cure diabetes etc. My suggestion is to switch to herbals gradually, initially taking it parallel to allopathy with some gap. No interaction of herbs with your current medicines. However you can not take the risk of quitting allopathy abruptly. Its not a matter of weeks or months but of years but there will not be side effects. But you may hope to see new lease of life with improvement in quality of life. Deep breathing, meditation, food modifications, light exercises, walking, light yoga will all be helpful Pl consult online for any query.

BHMS
Homeopath,
I am 20 years old. I havi some red pimples at my face. Please tell me what should I do.
Dear Mr. Lybrate-user. Pimples is common in your age. There are various behind pimples such as hormonal change, oily skin, gastric disturbances etc. You cannot check the internal hormal changes but you can take measures to eradicate the extrinsic cause which cause pimples. Always wash your face with an oil-free, non-moisturizing face wash whenever you enter your room from outside. This will help to open the pores of skin which generally becomes blocked due to air borne pollutants. Drink a lot of water daily & do some little exercise. Take one fruit daily. Do not prick the pimples. Pricking may lead to scarring and black spots on skin. Take homoeopathic calcarea phos 200, 5 drops, thrice daily, in empty stomach, with water.

Hi. It's normal to lose up to 100 hair per day, and in most people, those hairs grow back. But many men -- and some women -- lose hair as they grow older. You can also lose your hair if you have certain diseases, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, or lupus. If you take certain medicines or have chemotherapy for cancer, you may also lose your hair. Other causes are stress, a low protein diet, a family history, use of bore water, or nutritional deficiencies. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg, eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, vitamin b12, iron, zinc and omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin), different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. Walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you fit and young! Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Schwabe's Acid Phos. 200, Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week. After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica hair conditioner as well after every head wash.
