If I shift my living place from one city to another I am getting hair loss. How can I control my hair loss?

B.Sc. - Dietitics / Nutrition, Nutrition Certification,Registered Dietitian
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Delhi
Hello, may be the water at your new places contains too much salt. Try to use filtered water to wash your hair 1. Use mild shampoo to wash hair (you can make your own shampoo using reetha and shikakai at home) 2. Stop using conditioners. Use natural conditioners like egg, yougurt and lemon. 3. Massage your scalp with a mix of oils like olive, coconut, sesame, castor oil at night. 4. Apply amla juice on hair thrice a week. 5. Use a paste of bhringraj on hair. 6. You can use some good hair packs like - fenugreek and yogurt, egg and green tea. 7. You can rinse your hair with organic apple cider vinegar after washing your hair to maintain ph balance of your hair. 8. Hair health depends on the amount of protein in your diet. Foods like chicken, eggs, fish, nuts, dry fruits gives you the required nutrients to keep your skin and hair healthy. So consume plenty of them. 9. Drink lots of water to flush out toxins from the body.

I am 21 years old. I am 5'5" tall and have been very skinny since childhood although I have always been regular to proper balanced diet. I always take my meals in proper quantity and in regular intervals. Also, my food mostly contains good amount of protein. But still I am unable to gain weight. No matter whatever I eat or how much I eat, I still don't gain weight. What should I do to put on weight?

B.Sc. - Dietitics / Nutrition, Nutrition Certification,Registered Dietitian
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Delhi
To gain weight you should eat more calories than you burn. Plus not only you have to eat calorie dense food but you have to keep in mind that what you are eating is healthy too. In the process of weight gain you do not want to put weight in an uneven manner and look unhealthy rather than looking bright and healthy. 1.Start with changing your lifestly. Start working out if you are not active. The biggest myth that prevails now a days is that thin people do not need to work out. This is wrong. When you challenge your body, it is forced to grow. But this growth can only be possible if you are eating enough food to let the body absorb and grow in size and muscles. 2.Eat Healthy – Stop drinking and smoking too much if you are indulged in it. Limit your intake of junk food, pepsi, sugary stuff etc. Do not at all starve yourself. Make it a habit to eat something healthy every 3 hours. This means you have to eat 6 small meals in a day. Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a.Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B.Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C.If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D.Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E.Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F.You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. G.You can take natural food items like wheat grass which is full of essential nutrients which helps in weight gain. Try to be patient while you are on the process of weight gain. Results take time to show. Just follow the regimen of weight gain religiously and you will soon start seeing the results.

How to remove accidental marks or any pimple mark in my body. Tell me please I have a childhood accidental black mark on my nose.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, for pimple marks: use berberis aquefolium q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice daily for 1 month. Also, apply the same on the pimple marks as well. For scars: apply homoeopathic - thiosinaminum q few drops mixed in a glycerin solution on scars that are visible (as it is less greasy, so is more easily absorbed into the skin. Also take thiosinaminum 200 orally once a week for 2 weeks, to dissolve large, extensive scars. The oral dose supports the action of the topical application.

She's not get properly periods every time & get much pain if she's not in period. So can you suggest please how could solve problems.

Advanced Aesthetics
Ayurveda, Gulbarga
At the clinic we answer questions all the time about irregular periods. A textbook period happens every 24-29 days, but in truth what is “regular” covers a wide range. Cycles between 23-35 days are very common. A woman may get her period only one to four times a year. Or she might have periods that occur 2-3 times in a month and involve spotting or extremely heavy flow. Alternatively, she may have heavy episodes of bleeding every 2-3 months. Irregular periods are simply what is irregular for you. • Significant weight gain or loss • Overexercise • Poor nutrition (or a diet too high in carbohydrates) • Smoking • Drug use • Caffeine • Excessive alcohol use (interfering with how the liver metabolizes estrogen and progesterone) • Eating disorders • Increased stress • Polycystic ovarian syndrome/Estrogen dominance • Uterine abnormalities (fibroids/cysts/polyps/endometriosis) • Hormonal imbalances related to perimenopause Home remedies Sesame Seeds and Jaggery Sesame seeds are useful in regulating menstrual cycles as they help balance your hormones. They are loaded with lignans that help bind excess hormones. Plus, they contain essential fatty acids that promote optimal hormone production. Jaggery, too, helps regulate menstrual cycles due to its warming effects. 1.Dry roast a handful of sesame seeds. 2.Grind them along with one teaspoon of jaggery into a fine powder. 3.Take one teaspoon of this powder daily on an empty stomach in the luteal phase, or second half of your menstrual cycle (two weeks before your period starts), for a few months. Simply eating a piece of jaggery, also known as gur, will also help regulate menstruation. Note: Do not use this remedy during your periods.

Also I had body lice which has currently gone but not 100%. I did not take any treatment but those reduced because of neem. What should I do to remove it completely? I think there may be some hidden in my head. Will that be possible and what will the cure for it?

MDS
Dentist, Ahmednagar
The sensetivity in your teeth may either be due to loss of tooth enamel or dental caries (cavities). You can try using an over the counter desensetizing paste for 15 days. If the sensetivity continues or gets worse you should consult your neighbourhood dentist.

Dear lybrate user, you are in grief. You are missing your mother. Losing your mother in an accident must have been very traumatic for you. You need some time to come out of this pain. Please talk to your family and friends about your mother abour how painful it is for you. Cry, if you want to. Relieve yourself of this pain. Seek support from your family and friends. About your financial problems, talk to someone elder and more experienced person. Understand your own skills and start earning.
