Firstly there's no lifelong cure for the common cold. Antibiotics are only effective against infections of throat and are of no use against cold viruses. Over-the-counter (otc) cold preparations won't cure a common cold or make it go away any sooner, and most have side effects. A saltwater gargle 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2tsp turmeric dissolved in a glass of warm water can temporarily relieve a sore or scratchy throat. To help relieve nasal congestion, try saline (pure salt water) nasal drops.

Hello sir my name is Shobha I am suffering from asthma from. Last 7 years after taking inhalers also. Can you sugest ...
Dear lybrate-user, a perfect question on international yoga day! how's the response to inhalers? how's the general health? apart from inhalation therapy pranayam and certain yogasanas can help increasing lung power. Sometimes emotional turbulence can lead to repeated asthma attacks and hence vipassana and art of living courses can help you immensely. Regular moderate intensity exercise can reduce severity and frequency of attacks.

I am Diabetic, diagnosed of non drug resistant PTB in 2014 and on AKT4 for 1month and thereafter on R-Cinex 600 and Combutol 1000 till today. For how to know I am free from PTB. Any tests to undergo.

MD PULMONARY, DTCD
Pulmonologist, Faridabad
Treatment of PTB is usauly by 4 drugs and dose is calculated on weight basis. As you are diabetic, your intensive phage should have been for 3 months and not for 1 month and also maintenance phage of ATT should be of 6 month,so total of 9 month treatment has to be taken. You should have periodic xray chest, sputum AFB and liver function test done.Your diabetic should be under control ,otherwise all treatment will be waste.

I feel very tired and exhausted in summer and also cough. What should I do.

Certified Diabetes Educator, Registered Dietitian (RD), PGDD, Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (B.U.M.S), General Physician
Dietitian/Nutritionist,
in general, most cases of fatigue \weakness may be attributed to three areas: lifestyle factors, medical conditions or psychological problems. A thorough assessment is needed in all three factors to get to the actual cause of weakness. I being a both a registered dietitian (rd) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. I will also suggest home remedies. Do reply back for private consultation for rx.
