There is been content hip joints pain in both leg knee some time it make to stand very uncomfortable for few minutes, I am now 74 years, having diabetes for the last 20 years, and during nights, I am not able to sleep very comfortably I am under insulin, and take medicines, regularly, what type of medicine I should use for this discomforts, kindly suggest I am from secunderabad presently telangana state.

Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain.

I am doing exercise ealy morning going running about 20min. My legs are still paining in between muscles and ankle. When I sit on ground for about 10 min or more I get hard to stand up there no pain but feels have no energy to stand up. Let me what to do.

Its protein deficiency which causes muscle fatigue. Whenever we start exercising our body's protein need also increases. Intially start with walking for 15 min then 20.25. 30. And so on gradually. Then slowly introduce running. And improve your diet with protein rich food. All the best.

Choose shoes that offer good support in the arch and have low, but not flat, heels.
Prop up one foot on a box or low stool when you're standing for a long time.
Use a chair that provides support for your back, or tuck a little pillow behind your lower back.

Tips to improve balance/alignment/motion:
Lift your leg so your thigh is parallel to the ground while touching a wall. Hold it for five breaths.
For alignment, move side to side while sitting on a balance ball.
For motion, try moving forward and backward on the ball.

Hello . I think you are having a meniscal injury. Do you have any fall or twisting injury? do you have swelling? give rest to your knee apply ice and take some painkillers. Take out a xray of knee and feel free to share it with me.

Hello, Contineous cold may be because of many reasons like: 1. Any ENT problem like DNS Polyp sinusitis 2. Low Immunity 3. Allergic condition like Allergic bronchitis so you need to consult ENT doctor for proper examination and further management And for leg Pain 1. You can apply Volini gel 1% local application twice a day for 3-5 days 2. Hot fomentation twice a day for 3 days I am giving to some common reasons for leg pain 1. Generalized weakness 2. Anemia 3. Physical exertion and any trauma 4. Lack of protein in diet 5. Any infection present on leg or foot 6. Muscle weakness 7. Abrupt start/ stop of physical exercise 8. Vit d and calcium deficiency kindly consult physician for further management.

Dear sir this is the case of stress fracture of tibia bone not easily seen in x-ray. Avoid running on hard track. Use good quality sports shoes. Take plenty of green leafy vegetables. Never run barefooted. Use milk &milk products regularly.

Miss lybrate-user the knee pain of your mother is due to osteo-arthritis. Its a degenerative disease of bone. Typically effecting weight bearing joints. Maintain proper diet of your mother includes milk daily, and fruits. Advise to do walk daily apply medicated oil, do light massage and hot fomentation. If she is over weight, try to reduce it with diet restriction. Make sure her bowel clearance is ok. Constipation and gaseous distention increase the pain. Medicine are required for proper managment. Ayurved is the best solution for osteo-arthritis

I would like to examine your mother in detail & investigate. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid, vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomentation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Bio d3 max 1 tab od x10. Do back, & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that you are not allergic to any of the medicines that she is going to take. For emergency treatment contact your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5 days

Hello Dr. I am having too much pain in my runner knee coz I start running in morning from last week.
Hii As you have started running suddenly, the knee has begun to hurt. Its always advisable to start running slowly and then progress even more slowly over weeks. It takes time to achieve desired results. Do not increase the workload all of a sudden. Also, it is very important to do a proper warm up and stretches before starting your running. Cool down period after exercise is also very helpful in preventing pain. To know more about warm up and stretches you can consult me privately. You can meet a physio directly to have a detailed evaluation of your flexibility, strength etc. However its good that you have started running, keep going but slow and steady. Good luck.
