I'm 28 and I have shoulder pain past 45 days it was all of a sudden after finishing workout, I'm able to do all the works, but it pains when I'm moving hand and it's a discomfort to me. For that I stopped doing push-ups as well I applied tiger balm and still the pain is there. Please advice.

Hi, thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Actually pain at calf/leg region can be due to many reasons, commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to tendons, nerves, blood vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - we will get some blood tests for you - serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp once you have all these reports then you can contact me as I can advise you for proper supplementation do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Do take ust and laser therapy for pain relief for 12 days followed by strengthening exercise from neuro physiotherapist apply hot and cold water fomentation for thrice a day for 7 days regularly do revert for further assistance best wishes.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contact your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Why not discuss with me in a video conference? Foot and finger exercises. Do the following exercises barefoot: •1. First write digits 1 to 10 using your toes raised up in the air. •2. Sit on a chair, raise your toes and curl them •3. Pick up a small piece of cloth off the floor using your toes. •4. Still in a sitting position, point your toes and circle your ankles in a slow counter and clockwise motion. •5. Stand up from the sitting position and go on tip toe for 5 seconds.

Hunching over a desk for long time is a leading reason why people end up with crippling back pain at some point in their lives. But a few simple changes in the way you work can make your pain go away. 1-Keep your head up; Focus on aligning your head and neck right above your shoulders; avoid straining forward. 2-Be choosy with your chair: Pick one that allows your lower back to rest against a lumbar support. Then tilt the back of the chair so it’s very slightly reclined. 3-Plant your feet: Keep them flat on the floor and shoulder-width apart to quiet tension in your knees and ankles. 4-Take breaks: Getting up at least once an hour— just do some shoulder rolls—reduces pressure on spinal disks and boosts circulation. If your back pain is severe please go to a Physiotherapist for detail assessment and management of your pain. Best wishes.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana -- lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.

1. Take one tablet of crocin advance sos after food up to a maximum of three tablets daily 2. Do warm saline gurgling 3-4 times daily 3. Take viscodyne d syrup 2tsf thrice daily 4. You may have to take antibiotic along with it after consulting doctor, if no relief.

I am a 38 year old male and I had a fracture neck of femur (left leg) operated in 2010 and right now I am suffering from AVN. At times when I do some fatigue or do some stressful work I suffer from pain and also start limping and gradually it decreases after taking some rest. I also went to consult few doctors and they suggested me to go for stem cell therapy but they also told me that this type of treatment is in experimental stage and it is not necessary that things will be alright after the therapy, and they also suggested me to either go for core decompression pattern of operation but in this also they told me that the bone may collapse suddenly after the operation and I may have to get a ball socket joint operated immediately or if the operation is successful then this may last for a couple of years. My concern is that at this particular phase of my life as I am 38 years old I don't want to get myself a ball socket joint change as it may also last for 10-15 years and in my later stage of life I may need a second change of ball socket joint. I want to know that with physiotherapy, exercise and restrictions over my movement and care can I avoid a surgery and live a normal life, if so then for how long. Please suggest me with your valuable guidance .

Hello, As you are saying that problem is of Avascular necrosis (AVN) so only Physio therapy is not the option and also conservative treatment restriction of weight bearing is also not appropriate. There is combination of medical management and Surgical management that give best result so my advise kindly consult Orthopedition in a good Hospital like Apollo/ max/ Fortis Delhi/ AIIMS Delhi or any other good hospital, They can guide you best option

Rest and do hot fermentation posture correction must. Avoid strain full activity till relief. Do stretching exercise of spine and legs. If it work then ok other wise physiotherapy treatment.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Your knee pain could be due to certain reasons but common ones are chondromalacia, pain due to knee instability, inflammation etc. If there is no history of any injury, and no s/s of inflammation or infection like swelling, skin redness or local warmth on touching, then I will like to advise you for conservative management initially in form of: - intensive physical therapy with focus on strengthening of quadriceps and stretching of other group of muscles - gentle anti inflammatory medications like tab etoshine or tab paracetamol can be taken in small doses for 5-7 days - adequate calcium and vitamin d supplementation as per requirement - ice packs at home for 3-4 times in a day and see how it goes for around 2 weeks time. If your condition does not improve, then we will have to get certain investigations done. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.
