Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. It is not good that you are having multiple joint pains at such a young age. Also you will have to bring your alcohol levels down as your uric acid levels are high. There are ways to keep your uric acid value in body to low levels. General recommendations are: - decreasing intake of red meat, alcohol, rice in your diet and other purine rich sources - also increase your water intake so that uric acid is excreted from body well. - keeping your weight to normal levels will also help you. - intake of fresh fruits, citrus fruits and cherries has been implicated in reducing uric acid values in the body as well. Nowadays there is a medication by the name of febuxostat which helps in lowering uric acid levels in body but kindly check out that it suits your body. Hello apply prasarini oil or pranacharya restopain oil on your affected part and give hot water fomentation .take yograj guggul and agni tundi vati after lunch and dinner with warm water. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. Take pranacharya vatari capsule and syrup twice a day. Avoid fermented food. Junk food.

Hi, thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have mentioned a duration of 2 weeks of back pain. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you, you can also add a muscle relaxant like tab myoril 8mg twice a day for 5-7 days if there is associated muscle spasm - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Actually pain at calf/leg region can be due to many reasons, commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to tendons, nerves, blood vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - we will get some blood tests for you - serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp once you have all these reports then you can contact me as I can advise you for proper supplementation do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. I am 72 years old male and I have pain on my heels (people say plasterfastic pain) and now added knee pain. Tried hot water and cold water therapy, not much success. Now applying ayurvedic oils like karpoorathy thailam etc. Doing few floor exercises like folding and releasing, knee lifting and lowering. Can you please suggest any better way of handling this pain.

Arthritis is swelling of joints with pain, stiffness. There are some methods you can apply: • Do exercise such as walking that strength your muscles and move your joint. From movement of joint you got relief from pain and stiffness. •Gentle massage your joints with lukewarm oil. You can use medicated oil. You can apply ice packs and heat with warm water bottle on your painful area. • If you are obese then lose some weight. Heavy weight make strain on your joint and causes pain. • Take healthy diet avoid junk foods. Take diet rich in calcium such as milk, cheese. Do not take stress. • you can take physiotherapy advice. • Stretch your body lightly in the morning when get out from the bed. • Eat healthy diet green leafy vegetables and fruits. * Take one teaspoon of haldi with milk it will reduce your swelling.

Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

I am diabetic my last sugar test report was about 264 post lunch since than my endocrinologist has changed the dosage of my tablets, Now I am using 1.Glimestar M2 (morning 1 tab and evening 1/2 tablet) Today from the mrng I am feeling numbness at my right hand little finger to till now. What could be the reason?

It might be a temporary symptom, so don't worry. Get back to your doctor, (it may me due to uncontrolled diabetes, peripheral neuropthy.) be regular in taking your medications and add some physical activity so that your sugar control balances efficiently. See that you eat something before and after the activity. Increase your activity level in a graded manner according to your convenience.

Suddenly for last few days, I have been suffering from moderate pain in the neck and shoulder. Pain increases while I move my head. Specially when I face up. Please suggest what to do?

Hi, Apply Rumalaya liniment and massage for 10 mins and give hot water fomentation. This can be done thrice daily. If the pain is severe, take tab. Yogaraja guggulu 1-1-1 with hot water after food. Use soft medium sized pillow while sleeping. Perform neck exercises for 10 mins in the morning and evening regularly. If there is no relief, then take out an x-ray to rule out cervicle spondylitis.

I am a arthritis (RA) patient for last few years and tried all type of medicines. The pain reduces when I keep taking the medicines and restarts after few days if I stop them. Now I have the knee joint pains on both joints, and also pain in my hand fingers. I also have a pain in my lower back. I have consulted the doctor and he says it is a muscle pain only. Hi Ms. Lybrate-user back pain has many causes. But most commonly it is bad posture and lack of exercises. Lucorea indicates pelvic organ infection and can cause back pain. Yoga is good. Get advise regarding proper posture and learn spinal and core strengthening exercises from a physiotherapist. You should visit your gynaecologist and spine specialist if pain persists.

There is back pain but normally there is no pain whenever I get in the half bend position sometime pain is so high that I have to lay down for some time. Ya maximum 3 or 5 times in a year so what can be the cause why occur at that position only and how it can be cured.
