My plan for you would be to reduce the power of the bp tablet prescribed and eventually stop it if the regular bp readings are less than 130/80. Regular physical activity and dietary changes can help to control the blood pressure.

It is common for sugar levels to be uncontrolled after such procedures. If he is on insulin, you need to discuss with his doctor regarding dose adjustments at home according to his sugar levels. Also, a common reason is that oral medications are changed/stopped during such procedures. You can ask his doctor regarding this and whether any tablets can be restarted.

My opinion would be to wait. Meanwhile, a salt restricted diet, avoidance of junk food, avoidance of smoking/tobacco, regular exercise and adequate sleep should be ensured. A regular monitoring of blood pressure is essential.

Considering his high levels of blood sugar and pressure associated with his symptoms, he needs to be evaluated further to rule out any heart issue. He may need to be hospitalised depending on initial examination.

Burning sensation could have many causes but in his case, its most likely due to uncontrolled or fluctuating sugar levels. It needs medications if severe, else one can wait till the sugar control is better.

I'm a software engineer age 26. I was diagnosed type 2 diabetes at the age of 24, one and half year to be exact. I was running with high blood sugar levels. And recently I was advised that to go for fasting by my family doctor. So I skipped a noon lunch for more than 10 days. I felt great and light and even my blood sugar levels were down. But from past 15 days I was on travel due to business and I didn't follow diet. So back to square one. So is fasting advisable to me? He said to take very minimal food. As every food converts into glucose even food with low glycemic index. So he advised to take eggs and meat with fats so that it's not converted into glucose. So is that good diet? He shared a link with me. Which said same. Https://www.dietdoctor.com/fasting-reverses-diabetes.

I would not agree with such short term solutions. Diabetes is a lifelong condition and it requires dietary changes that you can follow lifelong rather than just to control the sugar level temporarily. A balanced diet needs to be followed even if you are diabetic so omitting carbohydrates completely is not an answer. I suggest you get your blood workup done: fbs, plbs, hba1c.

No. It is not normal. If you are on any medicines (eg for diabetes), they will need to be reviewed. If not, you will need to be evaluated to find the cause of the symptoms.

He is in a prediabetic stage as per the hba1c report. It is unaffected by the time of last meal and gives us an average idea about the diabetes status over a period of past 3 months. A healthy diet and regular exercise is a must at this stage. Retest after 3 months. Also check his lipid profile and blood pressure.

Your medicines need to be changed as you will require a slightly higher dose of medicines for a better sugar control. Also, there is no need to check the hba1c so soon, it should be retested after 3 months. Only fasting and post food blood sugar values are required meanwhile, to check whether the medicines are having effect.

It depends on the extent of liver and kidney damage. If its severe, insulin is the safest option as oral medicines may not be allowed. But if the problem is not major, she can be controlled by tablets. In either case, dietary changes are also required.

It is good that you have done all the tests well in advance. It gives us time to correct the abnormalities. You will require treatment for hypothyroidism in the form of a daily tablet. Its dose can be decided only after examining you. Also, your fasting blood sugar is in the borderline range. Get your 2 hour post lunch blood sugar as well as Hba1c checked. It will tell us whether you require medications or not. All the best!

Goog Evening Madam, I have sugar ,my feet flow why reason madam.
Fasting 100 posting 195.
I understand you mean to say that you feel tingling sensation in your feet. it is usually caused due to uncontrolled or fluctuating blood sugar levels. post lunch of 195 is high, it should be below 150. also the hba1c level should be less than 7 %. you might need a change in medicines for the same. secondly, avoid smoking/tobacco intake.

Inspite of taking 22 units of insulin in the evening and 50 units in the morning I find through Aviva Accu - check that my evening RPS is between 300 - 400 and the morning FPS is between 190 - 300. I do admit to a exercise bereft lifestyle but I keep a sharp check on my diet. Am I undergoing insulin resistance?

The very fact that you have diabetes means that insulin resistance has been present for a long time even prior to the diagnosis of diabetes in you. I personally feel that a few oral medicines can be tried out in you rather than taking huge doses of insulin. Also, do ensure that your insulin administration technique is correct. A lot depends on that. And lastly as you have mentioned of an exercise bereft lifestyle, even a small effort in starting exercise will go a long way in overcoming the insulin resistance. Wish you good health.

Hba1c test is not about it being positive or negative. It provides an estimate of your average sugar levels over the past 3 months. Based on the level and other factors like blood pressure, cholesterol, heart problems etc, it is decided whether you will require medicines.

You are having type 1 diabetes and are on the correct regimen of insulin. type 1 diabetics require to compulsorily take insulin thrice a day. although there are insulins avaliable which are effective for the entire day, just taking that one shot wont be enough in your case and you may land up with complications. People who are on one shot of insulin in a day are having a completely different type of diabetes, one in which tablets are also useful.

A normal person has blood sugar in the range of : fasting levels less than 100 and 2 hr post food sugar less than 140. fasting levels above 125 and post food levels 200 and above is considered diabetic. any level in between is seen in a person at risk of developing diabetes in the near future (prediabetes). 160 in fasting is diabetic , whereas 160 seen 2hrs after food is prediabetes. the closer the sugar level is to the normal levels, the better is the control.

I am 32 years old and since 2009 I was suffering from leg pain and was diagnosed as sciatic pain initially and was using some pain killers and anti biotic. The problem was resolved, but again in 2012 it repeated and doctors suggested to go for MRI scan and noticed that L5 disk bulge is there and suggested to take rest for one month (bed rest) and the problem was solved. But again in 2014 same problem occurred. This time it was ok with yoga course. But whereas, one doctor suggested to take complete health check up and he identified with the results that due to diabetes I was suffering all these days. Now blood sugar levels are 130 (fasting) and 200 pp.

Your problem seems to be due to the disc bulge that you mentioned. Its unlikely that diabetes would cause a typical scaitica pain which is one sided since so long. However your levels of blood sugar currently warrant treatment. If left untreated, it can aggravate your nerve problems.

Do not try to remove it yourself. Get it removed from the doctor. Its a simple and painless procedure where the doctor will scrape the corn out and provide you a cream and footwear to prevent the corn from recurring.
