Mr. Lybrate-user, looking at your height and weight you have grade 1 obesity. Hypothyroidism induces weight gain, particularly if not well controlled. It is necessary to maintain tsh levels between 3 to 4 milli units /ml when on treatment, then only one feels energetic and weight reduction efforts will be fruitful.

What are the symptoms of sugar if a person suffering from this disease and ealear prevention from it.

BHMS
Homeopath,
What are the symptoms of sugar if a person suffering from this disease and ealear prevention from it.
Dear lybrate user, one of the major nutritional substance required for human body is carbohydrate. We take carbohydrate in the form of rice, wheat, sugar etc. The complex molecules of carbohydrate are broken down into simple glucose molecules during digestion & released in the blood stream to be absorbed by the muscle cells. Insulin hormone plays a vital role in the absorption of the glucose molecules by the muscle cells. In abnormal conditions, either due to less production of insulin or due to resistance to insulin, the process of absorption of glucose by the muscles comes to a stand still. The glucose molecules remains in the blood stream which results in the increase in the blood sugar level. This abnormal condition is clinically known as diabetes mellitus. Once you are diagnosed with diabetes you have to take regular medicine to keep your blood sugar level within normal limits. Take homoeopathic mother tincture gymnemna sylvestra q, 30 drops, thrice daily after meals, in a cup of water. Also you need to walk at least 1 hour daily without any interval. Also you need to take a low carbohydrate rich diet.

I am taking Thyroxine sodium 100 mcg 1 tablet daily for thyroid, no tested again Which results: Total triiodothyronine T3: 1.17 Total thyroxine :10.50 Thyroid Stimulating hormones: 6.57 (0.35-5.50) So my question is :should I continue the same dose or increase or decrease my dose, please reply. Thanks in advance.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Please let me know the age of the patient plus are there any symptoms present related to hypothyroidism? Unless those details are known, it is difficult to say whether dose needs to be increased. Usually when on treatment TSh should be maintained around 3 to4 mU/L, particularly in adults. In older people a slightly higher level of TSH does not really matter. In fact it offers certain protection. So please answer my questions. Thanks.

What is mean blood glucose and if it's below normal range what does it mean and any particular treatment to be done.

What is mean blood glucose and if it's below normal range what does it mean and any particular treatment to be done.
Dear lybrate-user, Mean plasma glucose (MPG) shows you your average glucose levels. You can have a HbA1c test done to access your condition better. Maintaining a mean blood glucose level within a normal range is essential to your continued good health. In addition to facilitating the management of your sugar levels, the monitoring of mean blood glucose also plays an important role in the prevention and diagnosis of any disease, particularly diabetes mellitus. As you can understand sustaining a low blood glucose levels for a very long time is not good for your health. Please be advised to including more of fruits and juices in your diet which might help. You can also get in touch with us with your detailed symptoms so that we can constitutionally treat you. Please note that our medicines are absolutely safe to take and does not have any side effects. Thanks.

On 8 of Feb I had blood test of random s/p glucose and the result is 124 I wanted to know what is result.

On 8 of Feb I had blood test of random s/p glucose and the result is 124 I wanted to know what is result.
Random blood glucose testing has no value in diagnosing or ruling out diabetes. Its a waste of money and time. A fasting blood glucose in the morning (after 8-10 hours overnight fast) <100 mg/dl rules out diabetes 100-125 mg/dl is prediabetes and >125 mg/dl is diabetes. A 2 hours after a heavy meal blood glucose <140 mg/dl rules out diabetes, 140-199 mg/dl is prediabetes and >199 mg/dl is diabetes.

Does hyperthyroid effects functioning of brain not able to sleep properly and does omega 3 helps in treating problems related to brain.

BHMS
Homeopath, Secunderabad
If you take the advise of your doctor and follow health rules then you should not worry about anything. Omega 3 is not for treatment but is an important nutrient just like other important vitamins. All these nutrients help in the proper functioning of the whole body including the brain. You should focus on being healthy, and so follow a healthy lifestyle. Yoga can be very beneficial if you do it consistently. If you need Homeopathic treatment for sleep disturbance then you can contact me (as it is safe and without any side effects ). Homeopathy can also be taken along with the regular medicines.

don't stop medicines..to eat food, take liquid diet,Nutrient-rich foods that improve your health may also benefit your thyroid gland, including: Antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables: Blueberries, tomatoes, bell peppers, and other foods rich in antioxidants can improve overall health and benefit the thyroid gland. Eating foods high in B vitamins, like whole grains, may also help. Selenium: Tiny amounts of selenium are needed for enzymes that make thyroid hormones to work properly. Eating selenium-rich foods, such as sunflower seeds or Brazil nuts, can be beneficial. Tyrosine: This amino acid is used by the thyroid gland to produce T3 and T4. Taking a supplement may help, but ask your doctor beforehand. Treatments for thyroid disorders stemming from the over- or underproduction of thyroid hormones rely mainly on medicines and surgery. Treating hyperthyroidism involves suppressing the manufacture of thyroid hormone, while hypothyroidism calls for hormone replacement. Conventional medicine offers extremely effective techniques for lowering, eliminating or supplementing hormone production. Before deciding which treatment is best for you, your doctor will make an evaluation based on your particular thyroid condition as well as your age, general health and medical history.

Treating Diabetes With Homeopathy - Is It Possible?

BHMS
Homeopath, Mumbai
Treating Diabetes With Homeopathy - Is It Possible?

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic condition wherein the body doesn’t metabolise sugar properly. Insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas, is responsible for carrying the sugar or glucose, from the bloodstream to the individual cells. When the pancreas fails to produce insulin, glucose builds up in your bloodstream and enters your urine.

Homeopathy focuses on the overall health of the individual. Homeopathic medicines for diabetes include:
1. Abroma Augusta: This homeopathic medicine is best for diabetics who have weak muscles, increased appetites and frequent urination.
2. Phosphorus: If symptoms include weak vision, Phosphorus is the best remedy for it.
3. Syzygium Jambolanum: This is one of the best homeopathic remedies for diabetes mellitus. It acts efficiently and promptly in lowering sugar levels.
4. Phosphoric acid: If you feel exhausted or weak all the time, either physically or mentally, then Phosphoric acid is beneficial. Weak memory, forgetfulness and numb feet are also treated with Phosphoric acid.
5. Gymnema Sylvestre: Sometimes, diabetics drastically lose weight and have low energy levels. Gymnema Sylvestre is an excellent remedy for such symptoms.

Sometimes one or more homeopathic medicines may be combined to treat symptoms. Some common combinations include:
1. Lachesis, Arnica, Belladonna and Phosphorus are combined in a treatment to treat retinopathy, which is damage to the eyes caused by diabetes.
2. Serum Anguillae, Arsenic Album and Lycopodium are used together to treat kidney damage (nephropathy) in diabetics.
3. Helonias, Sulphur and Phosphoric acid are taken to deal with neuropathy or nerve problems such as numbness in feet and hands.
4. Syzygium Jambolanum is combined with Secale Cornutum to treat skin ulcers, which is a common problem among diabetics.
5. For people suffering from constipation due to diabetes, Natrum Sulph, Defloratum and Carlsbad are the best medicines.
6. To improve weak memory, Phosphoric acid, Nux Vom and Kali Phos are the best remedies for diabetics.
7. Sometimes diabetics complain of extreme, incapacitating weakness. To improve energy and boost overall health, Carbo Veg, Phosphoric acid, Phosphorus and Arsenic Album are recommended.

Hello, Specialised ayurvedic medicine are there for complete management of thyroid. It includes correction of weight, stopping hair fall and alleviating other symptoms such as weakness, lethargy, increased sleep, infertility etc. This is how this treatment minimizes dependence on artificial hormones and stimulates thyroid gland to produce it's own natural hormone. Too much cholesterol in the blood can lead to cardiovascular disease. What you eat has a direct impact on your cholesterol level. In fact, a diet rich in fiber and other cholesterol-lowering foods may help lower cholesterol as much as statin medication for some people. Working with a registered dietitian and doctor is the key to develop and maintain a successful health program to manage it. I will inform you on how to make diet, lifestyle changes, make you understand instructions for taking medication because it won't work if you don't take it as directed. Consult privately for a holistic dietary therapy to solve your problems.

Avoid non-veg (animal protein) like meat ,liver, fish .To reduce the uric acid levels in blood, you may need to limit intake of alcohol, sugary foods and reduce purine rich foods like meat, poultry, seafood and pulses. Vegetables such as cauliflower, asparagus, spinach, peas and mushroom also contain a lot of purines.

Hair Loss Trigger: Thyroid Problems

The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland at the front of the neck. It produces hormones that regulate many processes throughout the body. If the gland makes too much or too little thyroid hormone, the hair growth cycle may falter. But hair loss is rarely the only sign of a thyroid problem. Other symptoms include weight gain or loss, very dry skin or eczema, sensitivity to cold or heat, and changes in heart rate.

Bitter gourd, also known as bitter melon, can be helpful for controlling diabetes due to its blood glucose lowering effects. It tends to influence the glucose metabolism all over your body rather than a particular organ or tissue. It helps increase pancreatic insulin secretion and prevents insulin resistance. Thus, bitter gourd is beneficial for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. However, it cannot be used to entirely replace insulin treatment. Drink some bitter gourd juice on an empty stomach each morning. First remove the seeds of two to three bitter gourds and use a juicer to extract the juice. Add some water and then drink it. Follow this treatment daily in the morning for at least two months. Also, you can include one dish made of bitter gourd daily in your diet. For further queries get back to me.

Dear lybrate user with the limited amount of information provided it appears that you are concerned about your weight. For a successful weight reduction it is essential that you should start exercising 30-45 min on a regular basis and should have strict diet which is low in carbohydrate and high in fibre. Right now difficult to say without testing what you could be suffering from. So if in doubt then get yourself tested. Hope that solves your query. Anything more then please feel free to revert.
