I am facing hairfall for no specific reason since 4 or 5 years. Now m 26 years old. Daily I loose almost 100 hairs. So m worried about too much. please suggest. I am also planning for hair plantation. Is it safe to do so?

BHMS
Homeopath,
I am facing hairfall for no specific reason since 4 or 5 years. Now m 26 years old. Daily I loose almost 100 hairs. S...
Dear Lybrate User, Hair growth occurs in cycles. Each cycle consists of a long growing phase (anagen), a short transitional phase (catagen) and a short resting phase (telogen). At the end of the resting phase, the hair falls out (exogen) and a new hair starts growing in the follicle beginning the cycle again. Normally, about 40 hairs reach the end of their resting phase each day and fall out. When more than 100 hairs fall out per day, clinical hair loss may occur. Hair loss have many causes such as:- 1) Shrinkage of the hair follicles due to the influence of androgenic hormones. 2) Under-nutrition of the hair due to fungal infection on the scalp. 3) Effects of Radio therapy or Chemotherapy. 4) Nutritional deficiencies. 5) Autoimmune diseases. Modes of treatment for hairfall/alopecia includes surgical modes, oral medicine & local external application. The minimum duration of the course of oral medicines & external application is 6 months. You can start the following medications:- 1) Take 5 drops of Homeopathic SULPHUR 200, once in a week. 2) Take 5 drops of Homoeopathic SELENIUM 200 every morning before brushing your teeth. 3) Take 4 tablets from Biochemic NATRUM MUR 6X TABLETS, thrice daily. Just chew the tablets as those tablets are sweet in taste. 4) Take Homoeopathic Mother Tincture ACID PHOS Q, 30 drops, twice daily, after meals, in a cup of water. Kindly note that this medication may not be sufficient enough to take care of your problem. These medicines are based on the symptoms of your diseased condition & these medicines need to be complemented by further deep-acting remedies in order to permanently eliminate the underlying cause of the disease. So I would suggest you to consult me privately via Lybrate as it is very necessary to diagnose the proper underlying cause of your problem if you are wishing for a permanent relief from your problems. A permanent annihilation of the underlying cause of the disease will not only provide you relief from your troubles but it will also cease any chance of further relapse of that particular disease condition.

Lupus (Skin Disease) - 10 Signs You Are Suffering From It!

MBBS
General Physician, Jalgaon
Lupus (Skin Disease) - 10 Signs You Are Suffering From It!

Lupus, romantically named after the wolf, is a very dangerous disease that can often be fatal, and when it isn’t, it makes the sufferers’ life pretty much unlivable. Lupus is an autoimmune disease wherein the body’s immune system becomes hyperactive and attacks normal, healthy tissues, thereby causing symptoms like inflammation, swelling, and damage to the joints, skin, kidneys, blood, the heart and lungs.

Signs you are suffering from lupus!

  1. Out of proportion and persistent fatigue: This is the most common sign of lupus. Almost 90% of patients experience it, according to a research.
  2. Slight to high fever: Low grade fever due to no justifiable cause can be another sign of lupus. The fever usually comes and goes. Talk to your doctor if you experience this symptom as this could be a sign of inflammation, infection, or imminent flare-up of the disease.
  3. Thinning of hair: Thinning of the hair is often one of the first signs of lupus due to inflammation of the skin and scalp. Some people have hair coming out in clumps while others just have a less alarming thinning of the hair symptoms. Lupus can make hair feel dry and brittle. Doctors call this ‘lupus hair’.
  4. Unexplained skin rash called malar rash: Also called the butterfly rash, it appears on the cheek and the bridge of the nose. 50% of patients get this rash. It can appear suddenly or after exposure to the sun. Usually it appears just before a flare-up of lupus.
  5. Chest pain which increases with breathing: The lungs and the blood vessels in them become inflamed. This makes breathing difficult and can also cause chest pains when you breathe. The lung size can also shrink due to lupus, causing shortness of breath.
  6. Painful, stiff or swollen joints: Inflammation due to lupus can cause pain, stiffness, and swelling in your joints, particularly in the morning.
  7. Blood in urine: This happens due to inflammation of the kidneys or nephritis, which causes swelling in legs and feet and high blood pressure (BP). If lupus is not treated, you can also die of end stage renal disease.
  8. Persistent loss of appetite: Lupus causes acidity and indigestion and loss of appetite.
  9. Thyroid problems: Patients develop an autoimmune thyroid disease which can cause both weight loss and gain. The thyroid helps control your body’s metabolism and if it doesn’t function properly, it can affect vital organs like your brain and heart.
  10. Dry eyes and dry mouth: Some lupus patients develop Sjogren’s syndrome, another autoimmune disorder. This causes malfunctioning of glands responsible for tears and saliva in our body, hence your eyes may feel dry and your mouth will also remain dry.

Lupus is unpredictable and patients often suffer flares, or active symptoms of the disease, followed by periods of normalcy. Because the signs of this disease are so general, it’s easy to miss them; so, if you have been getting even three symptoms of lupus, it’s time to see a doctor. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a General Physician.

What are the prominent reasons for hair fall and balding of hair from sides at my age (25 yrs)?

PDDM, MHA, MBBS

What are the prominent reasons for hair fall and balding of hair from sides at my age (25 yrs)?
I appreciate your concern regarding hair fall. Hair fall is usually ascribed to multiple factors like diet and nutrition, hormones, stress, acute or chronic medical conditions, drugs, cosmetic products etc. From your description, it seems you might be having Telogen Effluvium, which is hairfall secondary to stress. If I were your dermatologist/trichologist, I would like to take through history including family history, history of recent major trauma/illness/stress/medications etc and recommend some basic investigations like CBC, blood sugar, Thyroid function test. Some other special investigations like trichogram and dermoscopy and further aid in diagnosis and prognosis. I would suggest you a course of oral tablets containing biotin and other essential vitamins and minerals for minimum 3 months. Also, would put you on solution containing 5%/10% minoxidil once a day and a hair serum containing peptides for hair growth at night.(Q sera etc). I would advise use of gentle shampoo and conditioner on regular basis and use of coconut oil twice a week. Also enquire from your dermatologist about upcoming treatment options like mesotherapy and platelet-rich plasma. Avoid combing in wet hair and let them dry by wrapping in towel. Avoid blow dryers and hair-color/dyes. Take plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet and try to de-stress your routine life.

Hi I'm a male my skin looks like old ppl like wrinkles and dark circles near my eyes nd boils and pimples on my face skin and my face looks black nd its not clear please help me out with some solutions wat to do.

Hi I'm a male my skin looks like old ppl like wrinkles and dark circles near my eyes nd boils and pimples on my face ...
Homoeopathic cream ANTIMARKS CREAM ( BIOVALLEY) Apply twice daily in circular fashion Castor Oil Castor oil is one of the best natural under eye moisturizers. Wash your hands and face with water and dry your skin with a soft towel. Dip your finger in castor oil and massage the wrinkled areas with it. For the best results, apply this remedy at night right before you sleep. When practiced regularly, it will not only remove wrinkles and fine lines, but it will also provide your skin a youthful and smooth look. Cucumber Juice Rubbing the under eye wrinkles with a cotton ball soaked in cucumber juice is also very effective. Cucumber contains natural ingredients that refresh the areas around your eyes, tighten your skin and give it a smoother look. Honey And Potato You can prepare another great home remedy for under eye wrinkles by using ½ tsp. of honey and ¼ slice of a raw potato. Mix honey in mashed potatoes to make a paste. Spread this paste on two cotton eye masks and put them on both the eyes, making sure that the masks are also covering the under eye wrinkles. Keep your eyes tightly closed so that the paste should not enter your eyes. After twenty minutes, remove the masks and wash the areas thoroughly with water. Mild wrinkles will almost go away immediately with this remedy. The darker and more stubborn lines will take a few weeks provided you are applying this remedy daily. Grapes Rub the exposed part of a half piece of grape over the wrinkles and fine lines under your eyes. The natural acids that grapes contain can be very effective in tightening your skin, which means the wrinkles will also be reduced in appearance. For the best results, you are advised to leave the application of grape juice over your skin on for at least fifteen minutes or more. You can wash your face after that. Stay Hydrated And Avoid Too Much Sun Exposure While you are using these remedies, you must also drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated. This way, the remedies will give you more effective and much faster results. In addition to that, too much exposure to sun should also be avoided because it can otherwise aggravate the condition.
