Top Remedies To Get Rid Of Acidity
Top Remedies To Get Rid Of Acidity

Over eating or spicy food gives us regular or once-in-a-while acidity. While we all love to indulge in good food, at times, we are forced to abstain for fear of the acidic reaction that follows.

Follow these simple home remedies which can cure and help combat acidity.

1) Cold milk - milk has calcium which stops acid build up in the stomach. For immediate relief from acidity, it is advised to drink a glass of cold milk.

2) Fennel Seeds - if you have had a spicy or a heavy meal, chew on some fennel seeds as is the habit in india, traditionally.

3) Ginger - ginger has anti-inflammatory properties which help cure acidity. All that one needs to do is chew on a slice of ginger. If you have a chronic acidity problem, you can make it a habit to drink the water with ginger boiled in it.

4) Cloves - if you face problems with acidity regularly, it is advisable to carry cloves with you at all times. Chew a few cloves everytime you feel acidic.

5) Basil Leaves - chew basil leaves at the first sign of acidity. Alternatively, you can also boil 3-5 leaves in a cup of water for a few minutes. Drink this water for relief. While you can add honey for taste, do not add milk.

6) Cinnamon - boil half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder in a cup of water for a few minutes and drink it throughout the day.

7) Buttermilk - lactic acid in buttermilk helps dilute the acidity in your stomach. Drink chilled buttermilk bit by bit throughout the day or until you get relief.

8) Cardamom - cardamom is known to sooth the inner lining of our stomach to reduce the effects of excess acid produced in the stomach. You can crush a couple of cardamom pods, boil in water, and drink it for instant relief.

9) Mint Leaves - mint leaves help digestion and in lowering the acid content in our stomach. Boil some chopped mint leaves in water, cool the water and drink it.

10) Banana - bananas contain natural antacids. Potassium in bananas keeps the acid production in your stomach under check. Eat a ripe or overripe banana to beat acidity.

Hi Dr. I have GERD for 6 years now, but I feel most of the symptoms in my throat, not much in stomach. I belch a lot ...
Foods, overeating, drugs, medications, and physical activities can weaken the les, overtime causing heartburn. By lifting and holding the neck from a supine position for 60 seconds at a time, you create enough tension in the muscle associated with the upper esophageal sphincter that it can strengthen the valve. Doing a similar lift and holding within the abdominal region of the body cannot provide the same results for the lower esophageal sphincter.

Hi, sitting in warm water tub will increase the blood flow towards the pelvic area and thus helps to control piles and constipation. To strengthen the anal sphincter, perform pelvic floor exercises 2-3 times a day for 5-10 mins daily. Even if this doesn't help you, then see a surgeon for surgical intervention.

First of all you stop taking tea then drink lots of water and do regular physical activity for at least 40 minutes per day and if you have to sit for a long time for your job then change your habit and after every 45 minutes get up from your seat and walk around just for 5 minute it will remove all your gastric troubles within a period of 1 month.

This is with reference to my father. He is 82 years of age. He is a non diabetic patient and has developed right leg ulcer which is now reaching is feet. I have attached the picture of his wound for your reference. The problem started in year 2010 and he has been hospitalized atleast 5-6 times with same problem. The colour of his legs is discoloured and black as you see from the picture. The problem started in the year 2010 where his legs skin started peeling and became sensitive. It started with boil appearing on his leg which went on to becoming a wound. i have tried with vac therapy. Twice the debarment of the leg is done but it has not helped him. He is complaining of excessive pain and his feet is getting stuck like a gum. He is Parkinson patient. He has to take pain killers everyday likem voverna or enzoflam to give him releif. I am also attaching his bioposy report and culture test done very recently in october 2014. I have tried with baitain ag dressing, aqacel, cutimed sorbact. Onitment megaheal also was applied to the wound. Now we are dressing his wound with biatain non adhesive and biatain alginate which has helped to ooze out excessive water from the wound . Also if you can recommend any laser treatment which can be helpful and less painful Can you please advice whether the treatment for the wound can be done at your clinic along with skin grafting as he is non diabatic patient. Awaiting your response at the earliest.

Anita, Firstly thanks for the detailed description. Although I could not find photo attachments. Yes, Homeopathically we can heal the ulcer & tendency to repetitive ulcers. At my clinic you can come with his reports, with prior appointments. Skin grafting falls under a surgeon's work zone. I can treat him with medicines.
