My baby is one month old. I am breastfeeding him. For past two days, I am suffering from toothache on left upper side. Since yesterday the tooth just below is also aching. It spreads to the chin as well as towards the ear. It cones and goes. Ppleae help. Thank you.

MDS, BDS
Dentist, Delhi
You will need to get a checkup done. It us quite likely that there is some infection that requires treatment. Since you are breastfeeding, such treatment needs to be carefully planned to avoid any adverse impact of the medicines you might need to have on your child. Do let us know if you need any further help.

From long time my mouth is getting very dry and due to which my inner skin of my mouth is coming under my teeth. I drink lot of water but problem remains the same. I done a sugar test and the level of my sugarpp is 70, I have started taking medicine but problem has not been soved. Please suggest.

BDS
Dentist, Aurangabad
Along with salivary function tests, try to do following things, drink plenty of water each day. However, try to limit your intake of coffee, soft drinks and alcohol, which can dry up your mouth. So just avoid them as much as possible. Chewing sugarless gum and sucking candies can also be helpful, as this stimulates saliva production.

Do the bear will affect me or I have chance to cancer? please give me answer. I am too much confused.

Oral submucous fibrosis is a premalignant condition which affects the whole mouth. It is caused by consumption of supari and tobacco. The chances of getting oral cancer are almost 19 times if you have submucous fibrosis. The chances are increased in those who continue to consume tobacco, supari or alcohol. Even after quitting the habits, the increased risk of cancer persists for 10-15 years. Furthermore, submucous fibrosis is not known to revert back to normal. If one continues the habits, the chances of getting further fibrosis which leads to trismus and difficulty in mouth opening increases. If trismus occurs, Various treatments like jaw stretching exercises, lycopene, antioxidants, steroid and hyaluronidase injections to surgery with flaps and coronoidectomy have been tried with different levels of success. As you don't have decreased mouth opening at present, no intervention is advisable. Close Clinical observation 6 monthly by a head and neck surgeon or a surgical oncologist is advisable, so that they can detect cancer at an early curative stage. But definitely you have to quit smoking and alcohol as if not only increases the severity of the submucous fibrosis, but also increases the chances of cancer. If you want to discuss further, donot hesitate to contact me directly.

Patients should visit their endodontists (especially trained to perform root canal treatment) or general dentist after the root canal treatment to have proper restorative work completed on the tooth.

I have a problem my mouth. When I talk then locked my tooth. Place help. Sometimes pain my tooth side.
Kindly consult an Oral & maxillofacial surgeon in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations (full mouth x-ray, TMJ open & closed mouth, MRI) & clinical examination to decide upon treatment. Until then have soft diet. Avoid yawning. Replace posterior teeth if they are missing. You may consult me in person.

Gum Pain Home Remedies
Consume Carefully

If you have a sore or an ulcer on your gums, avoid eating anything that can irritate the tissue. Stay away from spicy and acidic foods and drinks. This includes tomato juice and even colas. They have pHs in the range of five, which is acidic. What about orange juice? Make sure you dilute it with water. This reduces the acidic concentration, so the juice won’t burn when you drink it.

I have continous sensation in my front teeth. Also my wisdom teeth are coming out. Because of this I am having headache. I am a working woman & hence cant go to the doctor frequently. Kindly suggest as it is getting worse with each passing day.

Hi. You may go for teeth whitening called bleaching or else by composite veneering. Both the procedure must be done by an expert otherwise results are not as expected

I have just done wisdom tooth surgery 15 days back. Still some swelling and Irritation is there. Is it ok?

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Ya it is ok if the intensity of pain and swelling is decreasing. Continue with warm saline gargles to keep that area clean.
