It is rheumatoid arthritis. Every joint swells and my mother suffers severe pain. Specially foot joints, finger joints and hand joints. Though treatment is going on some time it is unmanageable. Dr. Have prescribed steroids. Is it safe to continue?

No steroids is for instant relief for pains. But it let your disease in to bad conditions as it decrease your immunity. So my advice is to not continue it. Just follow ayurvedic medicines for long term effects.

Iam 21 Yrs old Male. I have been doing exercise with Dumble for the past 1 year and my problem is presently when iam doing same Dumble exercise iam getting a Neck problem and im unable to continue my exercise. Finally please give me the best solution to get out of this problem.

If you are having neck problem while doing Dumble than you should stop doing it for at least 15 days You did not mention what problem you are having like pain or any other problem so kindly clear your symptom and consult me again and if you want you can also opt for Video appointment

Hello It is important to know the cause of back pain whether only muscle pain joint or nerve root pain due to slipped disc.. Ideally an Mri of the Spine should be done..Till then she should take bed rest Avoid bending and lifting weights.. Can apply hot fomentation like hot bottles.. You can consult for medications

I am 37 years old man, 3 weeks back I slip down from 2mtrs height, while fell down supported with two hands and leg knee. Now right leg knee and right hand joint have pain, can't move normally and bend it some times. If any deviation of movements have pain. But not always. No swelling.

Hi I can understand your problem 1) avoid activities that make your symptoms worse 2) apply ice packs 3) start physiotherapy treatment as electrotherapy will reduce pain inflammation 4) exercise and manual therapy will help in pain free movement. Hello, I would like to know the onset of pain, is it associated with any injury etc. Also let me know if there is any neck pain which is associated . You will have to get some tests done to establish a diagnosis. An appropriate treatment can be started after that.

I have sprain in my leg what should I do?

Apply analgesic gel or ointment or spray to the affected part and tie a crepe bandage while moving to restrict movement of the joint. Take tab yogaraja guggulu 2-2-2 with hot water and give rest to the affected part. Remove the crepe bandage while you go to bed.

Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings. This will relieve your problem. Press the point on the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from toe in the foot 20 times by pressing and releasing with a blunt edge of a pen. Further rotate your foot clockwise and anticlockwise 10 times. Massage your leg with both hands.

Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. \navoid bending in front. \npostural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana? lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a da.

Apply volini gel on neck. do warm fomentation. do neck muscle exercises in pain free period. avoid high pillow. consult if not ok. take calcium containing diet, take gemcal one daily for one month, consult again.

Dear Lybrate user For sciatica, -proper bed rest Hot Fomentation use L-S belt while walking (to eliminate pain & maintain posture) Avoid forward bending Avoid heavy weight lifting Postural care in sitting, walking,& lying position, also while watching tv or working on laptops. After few days, when your pain will get relieved you have to start some back care exercises.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. Your knee pain could be due to certain reasons but common ones are chondromalacia, pain due to knee instability, inflammation etc. If there is no history of any injury, and no s/s of inflammation or infection like swelling, skin redness or local warmth on touching, then I will like to advise you for conservative management initially in form of: - intensive physical therapy with focus on strengthening of quadriceps and stretching of other group of muscles - gentle anti inflammatory medications like tab etoshine or tab paracetamol can be taken in small doses for 5-7 days - adequate calcium and vitamin d supplementation as per requirement - ice packs at home for 3-4 times in a day and see how it goes for around 2 weeks time. If your condition does not improve, then we will have to get certain investigations done. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.
