Sexual Communication - Why is it Important for Couples?

Communication in any relationship is indispensable for creating a strong bond between a couple and a part of that communication is communicating about your desires and fantasies.

Sexual Communication is when you and your partner are able to express your needs and wants without the conversation being awkward, taking in account what the other feels. It is a fulfilling, satisfying, and a fun part of life. The physical aspect of love is an important part of a relationship and communicating with your partner about it only helps to make it better. Sexual communication will make it easier for you to take pleasure in sex with safety and have a satisfying sex life.

  1. Physical Communication: Communication is not linked with words only. Sometimes, a gentle hand placed on your shoulder or back, a simple glance at you or even a wink are enough to lure someone towards you. Healthy and amazing sexual activity is procured mainly through physical intimacy. Almost all the time, couples find out what the other is thinking even without asking them. ‘Actions speak louder than words’ is proven to be very true in this case. So, ensure that you understand physical cues of each other.

  2. Sexual Directions: Giving your partner verbal or physical direction is an integral part of achieving a satisfied sexual life. He or she needs to be informed of where to touch you and where not to in order to turn you on. If your spouse is clueless of what you might want or expect in bed, sexual gratification will not only become impossible but may turn disastrous. If there is verbal communication between you two such as, ‘kiss me’ or ‘touch me there’, the sexual experience will become ten times better. You must focus on what your partner might prefer doing more or may work around issues which cause strife and eventually resolve them.

  4. Intimacy: Emotional as well as sexual intimacy requires honest communication. Some display their inner inhibitions while others are reserved in matters of expression on sexual life. Each couple is accustomed to different and unique styles of communication with their partners. I have pcos and periods are irregular my periods are 15 days late upt are negative I have no early pregnancy symptoms. May I pregnant or not.

Hello, If opt is negative now then you are not pregnant at all. The delay is due to pcod and you need to get evaluated.

I am 36 old unmarried girl with diabetic. Mujhe ye janana hai ki after marriage mujhe pregnancy me kya kya problems a sakti hai.

Diabetes ka treatment acchi tarahse kar lenese sab kuch theek ho sakata hai. Lekin pregnancy ke pahelese insulin injection se treatment hona chahiye. Usake saath sugar control ekdam tight rehana chahiye. (90 mg - 120 mg/100 ml) aur her roj blood sugar check karate rehana hoga. Agar ye nahi kiya to pregnancy can be very difficult, bacche ko takleef ho sakati hai, bada baccha ho sakata hai, still birth bhi ho sakati hai, aur bhi problem ho sakate hai.

I am 24 years old. I have a 6 years daughter then I don't get pregnancy next. I consult doctor .she tells me left tube is blocked gives injection to open. Next period second day come, snd then give tablets and come sixth day after period gives inj to release egg but the doctor tells there is no improvement in the egg. This one repeats in three months. Why the egg is not improve.

Hi lybrate-user, it could be due to low egg reserve. Please get test for that. If it is their then chances of getting pregnant will be low. It would be better if you share images of ultrasound if you have and blood test results.

What is the procedure of taking Ayurvedic medicine? If one don't take it for one or two days in the middle of the period of taking medicine then medicine will do thats job or not?

Hi, Take the medicines as per the guidance of the physician with appropriate anupana advised by them ie. Along with milk or hot water or ghee or cold water or ginger juice or sugar, etc. Etc. Regularity is very important with any system of medicine. One can reap benefits at an earlier date if the medicines are taken promptly and regularly without missing a single dose of the advised duration of the intake of the medicines.

I confirmed by test that I am pregnant on 29 Nov but on 1 December bleeding occur and on 5 December USG confirmed that pregnancy terminated (miscarriage. But still bleeding continue. Why? Please help me.

Hi May be pregnancy has not come out as a whole. You should get an ultrasound pelvis done to find out if something is remaining inside.

My mom. Has been diagnosed with neuritis and she's undergoing treatment for the same. She is 83 years old. She initially did a bit of walking, but now due to imbalance and weakness, she cannot take even a few steps. I'm in devlali, Nashik and her present neurologist is in Gurgaon. I am 21 years old and have severe pain during periods. I tried many home remedies but still suffer a lot. How can I get relief?

There are few tips through which the pain may subside -: 1. Do regular exercise. It may sound crazy but this does help in reduce the menstrual pain. 2. Apply heat pack, as warmth of it reduces pain. 3. You may have orgasm. This may be socially and morally incorrect but it does relaxes nerves and blood vessels. 4. You may have green tea or chamomile tea as they both have positive effects on you menstrual cycle and pain. You may also go for an ultrasound as to confirm if there is any pathology or not.

I'm taking duoluton-L every month because I don't get regular periods. Does it contain any side effects or harm my body if I take every month?

It have some side-effects like vomiting,dizziness,,allergy.,breast tenderness.etc..hormonal therapy are alwyz harmful..if u stops taking it problem will recur again...soo u need proper homeopathic treatment for this which will improve ur situation without any complications..

Hi, recently during an ultrasound it was found that I had multiple tiny cysts formed in my ovary (17 mm max). I have had irregular periods since September and stomach ache due to constipation during the whole of last week. Is it possible that I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome? (No other usual symptoms like body hair growth present)

12 Signs Your Child Is Not Eating Properly!

Spitting up, refusing to try new foods and occasionally turning up their noses at feeding times, is normal but consistently refusing food and water, vomiting and allergies may indicate an underlying medical condition that requires attention. Common feeding problems that affect infants include sucking, prolonged chewing without swallowing, holding food in their mouth and grabbing food. Infants who are unable to close their mouths in order to keep food inside may also be said to be suffering from feeding problems.

Feeding problems could be triggered by medical conditions like a cleft palate, premature birth, respiratory problems, low birth weight etc. or by non-medical reasons such as the child’s feeling of being unloved or stressed. Symptoms of feeding problems vary from infant to infant. However, some of the common symptoms exhibited are:

  • Problems with chewing

  • Excessive drooling

  • Refusing to eat foods or drink liquids

  • Long feeding times

  • Coughing or gagging while feeding

  • Difficulty with breast or bottle feeding

  • Nasal stuffiness while eating

  • Poor weight gain

  • Recurring respiratory infections

  • Vomiting or excessive spitting up of food

  • Arching the back while feeding

  • Disinterest in feeding

Though feeding problems are minor in most cases, it is important to consult a doctor if this behaviour continues over a period of time. This is because the child may be suffering from an underlying medical condition or could be at an increased risk of suffering from dehydration, aspiration and lung problems. It could also lead to delayed physical and mental development, speech problems and cognitive issues.

Feeding problems are addressed in many different ways. The first step to dealing with feeding problems is to change the texture and temperature of food being given to the baby. In addition, try changing the posture of the baby while feeding.

In some cases, mouth exercises may be needed to strengthen the mouth muscles. Chewing exercises and tongue movement may also help reduce feeding problems.

Encourage your infant to try different types of food by including different textures in their daily meals. Alternating food textures and liquids can make it easier for the infant to swallow the food. Do not force your child to eat in a hurry but let him or her take their own time.

In cases where the infant is not gaining weight, the doctor may suggest nutritional changes and a specific diet to help gain weight. In emergency cases, hospitalisation may also be required and your baby may be given a feeding tube to ensure he or she receives adequate nutrition.

Some times there can be midcycle spotting around ovulation time. Hope your period was not delayed. If no pain or burning associated, & only spotting you need not worry but if it continues, see a gynaecologist.

I am 21years old I have very much irregularities in my menstrual cycle. What should I do.

Hello, Kindly explain me what type of irregularity is there - are you getting periods frequently/ getting delayed/ much bleeding during the menses? Since how long you have been suffering from this problem? Any associated symptoms or complaints? Any medical condition do you have? Have you got your investigations done (if yes, share the reports with me)? Answer all these questions for proper diagnosis and proper treatment. Any nutritional deficiency can also lead to irregularity. Take more of green vegetables, nuts, salads, seasonal fruits, yellow coloured veggies, milk & milk products, plenty of water and enough of sleep & rest. Take homoeopathic medication for your irregular menses – Schwabe's Pulsatilla 200/ once daily for 10 days (not to take during menstrual flow), Schwabe's Five Phos.
