You should follow these very important and simple things to prevent stone formation & to get sure treatment of kidney stones: 1. First take a lot of fluid daily. The more you drink water and fluid, the less amount of deposit accumulate in kidney. So you have to make your kidneys healthy just only by drinking 2-3 liters (10-12 glasses) of water. 2. Stones are mainly formed of calcium and oxalate. So take very low quantity of milk, cheese, cream and dairy products. 3. Do not take strawberry, plum, spinach and tomatoes. These fruits and vegetables are rich in oxalate. So avoid them to prevent from kidney stones. 3. Stop taking supplementary vitamin d and calcium medication. 4. Avoid animal protein diet- eggs, red meat, fish in diet. 5. Take less amount of salt, pickle and western foods. They have high amount of sodium. So avoid it. 6. Urinary infection are also one of the cause of stone. So take proper antibiotic treatment of urinary infection on time. Even when you feelburning sensation or pain during urination, don't avoid it. Take medication as soon as possible. I hope you follow them in your life andstay healthy. 7. You can take gokshur tablets of himalaya for 3 months. It definitely get relief from kidney stones.

Your weigh may be the problem. You should be around 65 kgs. Try to reduce your weight. If your job is to stand for long time. Follow few tips. * take breaks frequently. *place one foot on a small stool or raised area and alternate with other foot every 20 to 30 minutes gap. If your job is in sitting. Follow this tip. *lie at your back - fill the gap under your lower back so that your lower back rests fully on ground - then raise both your legs (without bending knees) just 5 degrees from ground - repeat it for 5 to 10 counts. Important notice -should not be done by holding breath.

MBBS, MD (Med), DNB (Nephrology)

Dear lybrate-user, Allopathy has dialysis and transplant as only alternative. Dialysis should be started if kidney power calculated GFR is less than 10. Transplant is better than dialysis if age less than 60. For further Detailed consultation, you can consult with me privately.

I can not hold my urine I do not have Prostrate problem. Please advise.

MBBS
Nephrologist,
I can not hold my urine I do not have Prostrate problem. Please advise.
You need to do an USG for KUB and an urine R/e M/e. Probably you have an enlarged prostate which is very common in your age. There are initial medications which can be started to control your problem. For that you need to consult me privately coz writing a medicine in an open forum is unethical for doctors as people can use this for self medication which should not be encouraged at all. Thanks stay healthy stay happy.

In kidney transplantation whether the damaged kidney is removed or not? And where is the new kidney situated in this ...
The damaged kidney is not routinely removed. However, if it has got infection, tumour, obstruction, large stones, or if it is creating problems like protein loss, occupying a lot of space, causing hypertension etc then it is removed. The transplanted kidney is usually placed in right or left lower abdomen.
