Hello, your case appears to be that of a failed root canal treatment (rct). Ideally, in an rct-treated tooth, there is no vital tissue or nerve that can cause pain. However, in your case, it seems as if the procedure was not done properly. Taking pain killers will only provide transient relief. Most likely, you will be required to undergo a re-rct to get permanent riddance from this problem. Before initiating the re-rct, however, you will be required to take a 3-day course of medication.

Wisdom Tooth

Wisdom tooth eruption most often leads to little pain and discomfort. If you suffer such problem, prefer to go to a dentist to know the position of the tooth. They are mostly tilted or remain inside. They never help in chewing. So we suggest to extract it to prevent any damage to the adjacent tooth due to it.

What is leucoplakia

Certified Implantologist, BDS

Ask Free Question
Oral leukoplakia (OL) is a white patch or plaque that cannot be rubbed off, cannot be characterized clinically or histologically as any other condition, and is not associated with any physical or chemical causative agent except tobacco. Therefore, a process of exclusion establishes the diagnosis of the disease. In general, the term leukoplakia implies only the clinical feature of a persistent, adherent white plaque; therefore, reserve the term for idiopathic lesions when investigations fail to reveal any cause. The term carries absolutely no histologic connotation, although, inevitably, some form of disturbance of the surface epithelium is characteristic.

My 3.6 yrs son tooth fell down a year ago and did not grow again, when will the tooth re-grow?

Milk teeth usually fall at the age of 6 years onwards. Starting with the middle 2 front lower teeth followed by upper middle 2 front teeth and so on. At the age of 3.6 yrs if the teeth have fallen out needs to be seen why and normally permanent teeth start coming at 6 to 7 years of age. Depending on which tooth had fallen off and what the reason is. A treatment would be necessary.

Hello lybrate-user, sensitivity is sharp, shooting type of sensation in teeth on contact of extremely cold or hot food which usually lasts for a few seconds and disappears completely after that and re-occurs again on such stimulus. Treatment plan for sensitive teeth goes as follows: 1. You can use any commercially available desensitizing toothpastes such as colgate sensitive or sensodyne as first line of treatment. If it reduces your sensitivity substantially you can continue brushing with toothpaste in long run to avoid further sensitivity. 2. If you don't get any relief from desensitizing toothpastes it indicates a more severe problem which will need further treatment like layering/coating the damaged tooth surface or filling of the tooth if there is big cavity or root canal treatment in extreme cases getting proper treatment leads to permanent relief in sensitivity problem.

How can I keep my tooth whiten? please give some home basic treatment.
Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with whitening procedures and / or artificial enamel filling. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Bleeding is sign of gum problem because of plaque or tarter deposition between gums and teeth. You need to go for cleaning and scaling. Use chlorhexidine mouthwash. Brush twice daily.
