My age is 28 years. I have been getting treatment for hypertension for last 3.5 years. Initially I was on telmisartan 40 mg then some combinations were used by doctor later I started exercise and a year ago I used to feel fainted post which doctor reduced telma dosgae to 20 mg which I hv been using for more than a year now and BP was regular during this time. But recently my BP reading was 160/100 later doctor advised to check it frequently and it was near this reading only. I got my lipid profile done and result: cholesterol was 213, triglyceride 241, HDL 38, LDL 126.8, VLDL 48.2, total cholesterol/HDL 5.60 & Non HDL 175 this report also has huge difference in lipid levels as compared to previous one done 3 months ago/which was pretty normal. Now doc has advised to take CTD-T 6.25/40 along withatorvastatin10 mg. And I am doing exercise regularly. Would I be able to go back to lower dosage of this drug or whn can I expect to not to have this medicine as it's been a long time that I am not this treatment and also do these drugs have side effect on me. Also do I need to get some more tests done?

Hello, I am 37 years old. Kindly let me know about clubbing. My doctor is advising me to visit cardiologist. What checks do I need to do? please advise me. Do I need to worry about this ?

MD - Paediatrics
Pediatrician, Ranchi
Clubbing is defined as bulbous swelling of the tips of finger. Usually it is present in all the fingers and toes. There can be so many causes of clubbing one of which is congenital cyanosis heart disease. Apart from cardiac cause it may be due to lung, intestinal or liver diseases also. In few persons any cause could not be detected and in some it is familial. The clubbing should be correlated with other symptoms and findings so that the we can minimize the number of investigations and thus the cost burden of the patient. Regards.

How to control frozen shoulder, m diabetic patient and heart patient, Please l advise the therapy needs to be followed.
However I do agree with opinion of said neurosurgeon but most of time in shoulder pain cases the chronic ligaments injuries lead to made restricted movement all because of pain. And patient try to avoid movement leads to so called frozen shoulder. In such cases after getting mri confirmation we can go with ortho biological treatment with prp/stem cell/along with rf ablation. Made your life more fruitfully instead of getting unwanted physiotherapy exercises.

Your Mother's BP seems to fluctuate with change in mood. So the first thing to do is to make sure she develops healthy habits and some hobby which she enjoys. Maybe knitting, singing, potted plants or a pet animal. Her choice. This will help her relax mentally and support better BP levels. Control her diet strongly. Oily, spicy, chilies and difficult to digest food stuff like cholle, rajma, chana dal, mooli. These will affect BP. So reduce or even stop for few weeks. She will feel the benefit soon. Make sure she sleeps well. In comfortable bed and cool room. Proper sleep is essential for good health. Take her for walks, walking helps the mind relax. Have a good Dusshera. Best wishes.

Dear Mr. lybrate-user.all you need is immediate treatment to control your B.P.since it is severe. First line of treatment in this scenario must be to control B.P.you may need anti hypertensive medicines. Do not try any thing else, once your B.P. Is controlled, you can go for investigations to find the cause of hypertension, get your below given investigations done ,Blood Investigations: Renal (Kidney profile) ,Lipid profile, Blood Sugar. Also get your ECG & 2D echo done. One more thing high Blood pressure does not necessarily mean that you had heart attack, so do not worry about it. Once you get investigations done and results are available, then we can think about further treatment. Thanks.
