Good evening , it is important that you should not delay the same and urgently have a good dental check up by a good dental surgeon specialist. Do take a second opinion by an ENT or a cancer specialist. The may decide to conduct some tests or investigations - if it comes negative we will be one of the happiest people celebrating your good results.

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need cleaning along with desensitizing procedures and / or artificial enamel filling. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person. Until then apply a desensitizing paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min until you brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight will be better. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. CAUSES ? It is caused by infection with a yeast called Candida. Candida is often present in the mouth and if it spreads to the corners of the mouth it can cause angular cheilitis. ? It can also be caused by infection with the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus. This organism is present without causing problems in the nose of some people. If it spreads to the corners of the mouth it can cause angular cheilitis. The chance of getting angular cheilitis may increase: ? If you have some chronic bowel problems ? If you are low in iron, vitamin B12 or folic acid ? If you have a condition where you drool saliva at the corners of the mouth ? If you wear dentures that do not adequately support the corners of the mouth HOME REMEDY 1. Honey 2. Aloe Vera Gel 3. Lip Balms and Moisturizers 4. Drink plenty of water 5. Cocoa Butter 6. Homemade Mixture 7. 2 tablespoons of tea tree oil, 1 tablespoon of Vitamin E oil, and tablespoon of petroleum jelly should be mixed and applied over the cracked area as many times possible in a day. 8. Lemon 9. Cucumber 10. Neem Leaves TREATMENT (PRISCRIPTION MEDICINES) 1. Miconazole ointment or candid ointment - need to apply to the corners of your mouth usually 2-4 times daily for 2 or more weeks 2. Chlorhexidine mouthwash used four times daily 3. Course of tablets such as Fluconazole 4. C. Becosules 5 cap, for five days in the morning after meals. HOW CAN YOU PREVENT ANGULAR CHEILITIS? If you take the following steps you may be able to prevent angular cheilitis from developing: ? Maintain good oral and denture hygiene ? Wear well-fitting dentures which provide adequate lip support ? Regularly rinse your mouth with water & mouth wash ? Keep good control of your diabetes ? Eat a well-balanced diet Advance procedures can be done with laser.DENTAL TIPS: - Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Filling your stomach full before the rct is surely a good idea because the process sometimes takes as long as 3 hours.

Hello Doctor, I have visited more than 50 dentists to solve an issue of bad odour in my mouth for over 20 years now but not got a solution. Are there any tests to check the Sulphide content in my saliva, or H.pylori bacteria or any other way to test and take supplements as this is not a dental issue and my dental hygiene is excellent with Brushing after meals, Flossing and oral care. I am a teetotaler.

Drying up of the mouth after taking a large no. of medicines is quite common. We suggest increasing your fluid intake or using an artifical saliva generating product or chewing a sugarless gum after a meal which help in keeping your mouth moist.

Try to find out if the spot is intrinsic or extrinsic. Extrinsic stains can be removed by scaling, intrinsic stains to be removed by bleaching procedure. There are many types of bleaching procedures, the suitability of the procedure depends on case to case.

I have lost two teeth. Is it necessary to go for denture? Is there any alternative? If I do not do anything will it affect my digesting system? Please advice. Thanks.

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Hi! any lost teeth requires replacement either by way of denture, fixed brigde or implants.Loosing teeth n not replacing them can result in the movement of ur other teeth and can change the overall bitting pattern of ur mouth as well as causes changes in the musculature of ur jaw joint. It is highly recommended that u replace them .

Around 50% of the time one or more wisdom tooth will be missing. Sometimes it can be embedded in jaw bone and not able to erupt in the mouth. An opg (orthopentamogram) x-ray will help to know what is the cause. You can get it done.
