My period r irregular from Nov 2016 till now. What's d reason n what's d treatment.

Hello, Irregular period is usually defined as any type of bleeding that's abnormal when compared to your last few menstrual cycles. It can include everything from a late period to early bleeding, and scant bleeding to extremely heaving bleeding. For many women, this can even mean an absent period (amenorrhea) or two periods in one month (metrorrhagia). It's actually a way of your body telling you something is not right and probably your hormones (especially estrogen and progesterone) are imbalanced. Although, in most cases, they are not dangerous, but it is important to figure out what is causing the irregularity (which may require a trip to the doctor). RESAONS/ CAUSES: Some common reasons for irregular periods: STRESS: Stress is the most common cause of irregular periods. Cortisol, the stress hormone, has a direct impact on how much estrogen and progesterone, two sex hormones, gets produced by the body. POOR DIET: Unhealthy eating and being overweight or underweight can cause irregular periods. In order for a woman to maintain a regular cycle, her body fat percentage needs to be at least 17-22 percent. EXCESSIVE EXERCISE: Excessive exercising (or even lack of it) and drastic weight changes can decrease the body fat, being underweight can offset your hormone levels, thus contributing to irregular periods. BIRTH CONTROL PILLS: When some women stop taking the pill, their periods may take one to three months to return to normal. And this can also reveal an underlying hormonal problem that was masked by taking the birth control pills. PCOS: Polycystic ovary syndrome causes cysts to form on the ovaries, interfering with regular ovulation. In fact, PCOS is far more complicated than a missed period. Talk to your doctor about this condition. THYROID: Thyroid disorders, including hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, can cause widespread symptoms like changes in estrogen and cortisol hormones and missed periods. OTHER REASONS: Some other reasons include perimenopause, menopause, pregnancy, certain medications you might be taking due to other health issues, and breastfeeding. Some home remedies you can try to treat irregular period problem: REDUCE STRESS: Breathe away stress by doing yoga and breathing exercises and meditation in the morning. Also, do kapalbhati and anulom-vilom pranayama for 15 mins each. CHASTE BERRY: The best known hormone balancing herb for women, Chaste berry helps to regulate the female gynecological system. It works by normalizing the secretions of the pituitary gland, hypothalamus, and ovaries, which then appropriately signal to balance the endocrine system. Note – This herb is not recommended if you are taking any fertility drug. It should not be consumed during pregnancy. SHATAVARI: Shatavari is also known to restore the balance of hormones in women. Mix it with equal amount of Ashwagandha and take 1 teaspoon with warm milk at night daily. OTHER HERBS: Some other herbs you can try to regain healthy menstruation: Holy basil (Tulsi), Black cohosh, licorice (Mulethi) root, turmeric, and Evening primerose oil. (If you are on medications, always consult your doctor first). DIETARY CHANGES: Drink carrot juice, aloe vera juice, grape juice. Add ginger, cinnamon, pumpkin seeds, green (unripe) papaya, sesame seeds (with Jaggery), Apple Cider Vinegar and wheat grass to your diet. Also eat other seasonal fruits and vegetables and drink plenty of water throughout the day. Most women return to healthy menstruation cycle following these remedies. However, if you don’t benefit from the above, you should see your gynaecologist immediately. Hope this helps.

I have pimples on my face and black spots below my eyes. I was facing problem with pimples. So you please help me what to do for aware of pimples from and black spots from my face.

Tomatoes are an excellent solution for getting rid of dark circle, as it naturally helps to decrease the dark circles and also makes the skin soft and supple. All you need to do is mix one teaspoon of tomato juice with a teaspoon of lemon juice and apply it under your eyes. Grate some raw potato and extract the juice of the same. Now take a cotton ball and soak it in the potato juice. Close your eyes and place these cotton balls on your eyes. Make sure they cover the entire area of the dark circles under your eyes as well as the eyelids. Leave it on for 10 minutes and wash off with cold water. Cold tea bags: Another simple technique to get rid of the dark circles is using cold tea bags. Soak a tea bag preferably a chamomile or green tea bags in water. Chill it by placing it in the refrigerator for a while. Now, place them over your eyes. Use this remedy on a regular basis to see considerable difference. Cold milk: Regular use of cold milk will also decrease the dark circles and also soothes your eyes and skin. Take a cotton ball and place it in a bowl of cold milk or iced water for a while. Now apply the cotton ball making sure that it covers the entire eye with the affected area. Keep it for a while. Wash it regular water. Orange juice: Another effective home remedy to remove dark circles is orange juice. Mix some orange juice with a few drops of glycerin and apply this mixture over the dark circles. Not only will it diminish the dark circles it will also give a natural glow to your eyes. One of the main reasons that's seen for the recurrence of dark circles under eyes is because of stress, depression and a hectic lifestyle. No amount of home remedies will work if your mind isn't cool and calm. Yoga and meditation if practiced regularly will not only decrease your dark circles will also balance the body clock whilst calming your mind, body and soul.

I was doing gym from last 5 months .after that I have decide to take whey protein based gainer. But it causes stomach infection and fever .so I decide not to take it. Approx 1 month ago my upper body is well developed. Now m not doing gym from last 1 month. My shoulders, my hands ,over all my upper body is reduced .skin also loosing .my chest turning to man boobs. Now my lower body is greater than upper. Is it whey protein reaction? My whole body size is reduced. Also lower appetite. Stress.tiredness. Please help me .if you have any solution. Or if it is any decease. please suggest me solution. Now my size is less than the size before I have join gym. My hips also widening. And upper body reducing.

Hello! according to me you are loosing your muscles. Small n frequent healthy meal is suggested. You can take good quality protein in your diet. Like- milk n products, egg, chicken, dal & products. N visit a dietitian. It will help. The 1st thing you need to take care of is good quality protein, complex carbohydrate n good quality fat. N what you are taking before n after work out is also matter. Aim for around 40-50g carbs and 20-30g protein. This stabilises your hormonal system to enable tissue regeneration and keeps blood sugar stable.

Apply echinacea mother tincture externally over the dots, n take internally the eugenia mother tincture[daily twice. 10-15 drops in 1/4th cup of lukewarm water]. Often wash your face just with normal water, but with mild soap when you come from outside. Take fresh fruit juices, vegetables. Plenty of water.

Chest pain while doing hard work may be due to insufficient blood supply to the heart. You should do an ecg first. If its normal, you need to do a treadmill test(tmt test) where your ecg will be recorded while you run on a treadmill. If any abnormalities found, you may need to take medicines to keep your blood thinner. So, do an ecg earliest. Wish you all the best. Dr. S. Modak

Can children have heart problem....???

It is a typical myth that heart problems can only occur in adults and aged people.

Fact is - children can also be having heart diseases! which are called congenital or by birth heart diseases.
These ones include- septal defects like- asd, vsd (hole in the heart), valvular diseases, heart malformations, pda and even adult like coronary heart disease.

Signs and symptoms can be-
Easy fatigue,
Difficulty in breathing
Sometimes bluish discolouration of skin
Chest pain
Palpitation etc.

For such issues, consult a cardiologist as soon as possible.

I am a 16 year girl and I want to lose my weight and now my weight is 51 kg what I do?

Being a dietitian my views: there is no single diet chart for everyone. To plan a specific diet we do collect lot of information like height, weight, food frequency, digestive history, medical history, likes, dislike, lifestyle, eating habits. Remember one thing to follow a diet it should be personalized according to person's body type and not generalized. Starting with there is no pills or powder or shake which can help you to lose weight in a healthy way. To lose weight eat an hour within walking up and dinner at least 2 hours before you sleep. Avoiding eating anything after dinner. Breakfast should be your king size have good complex carbohydrates and protein rich. Eat every 2 hours small frequent meal do help in weight loss. And do not overeat. One can come to ideal body weight with few lifestyle modification. Have green tea only 2 cups a day. For exercise I would say diet plays 80 % role and exercise plays 20 % role in losing weight. Personal advise on gym. You should not make your body habituated with machines rather do simple walk or surya namaskar or planks. So only with healthy eating one can lose weight.

My husband have feel throat infection, cold and fever twice in every month. Now we are married at 8 months. These all months he suffer throat infection and fever. We consulted many doctors and doctors made every check up. All results says that no problem. BT now also he faces these situation. He is 28 years old. What can I do for he? Pls respond.

For cold take tablet cetrizine at night and For fever take tablet paracetamol 650 mg and For cough take syp ascoril-D 2.5 ml twice a day and take cp amoxicillin 500 mg 1-1 for five days and avoid any known trigerring factor

I have done sex & after 2 days I was having periods now I have swelling in uper of my vagina when I touch that part I feel pain. Is it create any problem in pregnancy & periods cycle.

As you had periods there is no reason to worry as you can not get pregnant. This swelling will resolve in few days as it can occur because of trauma during the sex. If pain is there then you can take tablet brufen which will reduce swelling also. There r no ling term consequences of this.

A) take 10 ml of fresh lemon juice and ginger juice along with 10 ml of honey along with 60 ml of water early in morning on empty stomach and after dinner. She is 93. Had bedsores and high protein deficiency is there due to which her arms and legs are uncontrollably swollen. Doctors r giving hermin injections for protein and meramac injections for bacterial infection of bedsores. Just want to ask can this protein deficiency affect liver or any other organ also of hers? She is completely bedridden due to age.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. From the information given, it is clear that her intake must severely affected, which has led to severe protein deficiency. Protein deficiency affects muscle mass, over all energy level. There is no liver damage or any other organ damage. But as the patient is bed ridden, mscle strength goes down due to inactivity and low intake. Bed sore occur because of bony points rub on the bed, the skin over those areas gives way and ulceration occurs due to lack of proper blood circulation in those areas. Along with injections it is better if her oral intake improves. Thanks.

Joining the gym is not mandatory. There are many other ways to get fit. First correct your diet and life style, taking more fiber, protein rich foods, green tea, essential fatty acids etc, better you should schedule an appointment where I will do your nutritional health assessment with a machine, make you understand your readings, will take your diet history, explain you what you can do to achieve your health goal, improving & customising your existing diet & deal with the deficiencies.
