Hi I am 42 yrs old and facing knee (joint) pain from last 3 years, when I use staircase for upside my both knee having pain, doctor says that I have less lubricant on this joints. Kindly help me.

Hypothyroidism - Symptoms + Homeopathic Remedies

Hormones are chemicals produced by the body for optimal functioning of the various body systems. The thyroid produces thyroxin which controls body metabolism, and reduced levels affect metabolism. Deficiency of Iodine is the cause behind it as it is required by the body to produce thyroxin. Hashimoto’s thyroiditis which is an autoimmune disorder is another cause.

Some common signs of it are extreme fatigue, intolerance to cold, constipation, puffy face, hoarseness of voice, increased cholesterol level, weight gain, muscle and joint pains and aches, altered menstruation and depression are some of the common symptoms. 

Homeopathy has some very good remedies that are aimed at managing the person as a whole and not just the symptoms of hypothyroidism.

  1. Calcarea Carbonica: The most common and popular homeopathic medicine, it is useful in patients who present with the following symptoms.
    • Intolerance to cold
    • Fat, flabby, fair person
    • Excessive sweating on the head
    • Peculiar food habits including craving for eggs, chalk, pencils, lime,
    • Aversion to fatty food substances
    • Constipation i.e. first part of stool is hard followed by softer stools
    • Excessive menstruation, prolonged and occurs earlier than the regular date, almost always associated with cold feet
  2. Sepia Officinalis: Another significant remedy, Sepia is used when the patient has the following symptoms.
    • Weak, pale yellow, tend to faint easily in cold temperatures
    • Extreme intolerance to cold, even in a warm room
    • Irritable, indifferent
    • Significant hair loss
    • Excessive menstruation, occurs earlier than schedule, along with a bearing down feeling that the pelvic organs will pop out through the vagina, and so she always prefers to sit cross-legged
    • Constipation i.e. stool is passed out as small balls that is painful to pass
    • Craving for pickles and acidic food stuffs
  3. Lycopodium Clavatum: Symptoms of patients in whom Lycopodium will be used are as follows:
    • Emotionally irritable and physically weak
    • Yellow face with blue circles around eyes
    • Excessive hair fall
    • Craving for hot foods and sweets
    • Gastric troubles with excessive flatulence
    • Acidity that worsens after eating starchy foods, especially in the evenings
    • Constipation with hard, painful, incomplete stooling
  4. Graphites: Presenting symptoms where Graphites is mainly used include:
    • Obesity
    • Intolerance to cold
    • Depressed emotionally, timid, indecisive, weeps listening to music
    • Bloated, gassy abdomen
    • Chronic constipation with hard, painful stooling process
  5. Nux Vomica: The patient in whom Nux Vomica can produce wonderful results presents with the following symptoms:
    • Cold to the touch
    • Extremely temperamental, gets offended easily, extremely sensitive
    • Chronic constipation with scanty stools and a chronic urge to pass stools
    • Gassy, bloated feeling in the stomach
    • Desire for alcohol, caffeine, and other stimulations; fatty and spicy foods
    • Prolonged excessive menstruation

Now I have thyroid levels normal 8 months ago. Now I not take any thyroid medicine. But I had thyroid problem 3 years ago. Now I taking tab calcimaxforte, potklur syp. Because I have hypocalcaemia&hypokalemia problem. But why I feel cramps, sense choking, nervous& irritated. How cure this problem.

Mr. lybrate-user, As I understand you had some thyroid related disorder. Whether it is hypo or hyperthyroidism is not mentioned. According to you now the thyroid hormone levels are normal. But no levels are mentioned so again difficult to comment. As regards cramps and choking sensation it is difficult say exactly why these occur, as no details regarding values of Na, K, Ca, and Vit D3, etc is mentioned. Plus thyroid related conditions can also lead to muscle pains. Thanks.

I am 25 yrs married woman, my height is 153 weight 69. I can't able to wear jeans and model dress perfectly. I want to reduce my back, front, thigh size. What can I do?

Weight reduction can be achieved only by reducing the intake of food 1/3 of what you take now. Some tips 1) drink three or four cups of water whenever you feel hungry and just before eating food 2) take boiled or raw vegetable like cucumber, carrot etc. As half of your diet. Then take of your total as sprouted pulses / proteinaceous food like roti, cooked pulses and remaining with rice or other carbohydrates. Oil or ghee etc. Should be just bare minimum. The most important is to burn off the energy intake by exercises. There is no short cut or medicines without exercise. The food we eat is utilised for our energy needs and the remaining will be stored as fat which leads to obesity. It is better to do some tests. For more detailed and personal advice ask me privately. Specific exercises can help. I shall tell you in time.

I am 23 year old male. I have join pain from last few years. Doctor told me that I may have some type of arthritis problem. Treatment- 1-apply prasarini oil or pranacharya restopain oil on your affected part and give hot water fomentation. 2-take yograj guggul and agni tundi vati after lunch and dinner with warm water. 3-Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. 4-Take pranacharya vatari capsule and syrup twice a day. I am a college student I want to ask how I can overcome depression? I'm not able to eat in that condition.

At your age this claim is serious. If you have depression then there are some major ramifications to take into account. I believe there may be some genetic predisposition or there has been some childhood issue, related to anger, that needs urgent attention. You must go and meet with a counselor immediately and if that person advises that you meet with a doctor you must do so and cooperate to your utmost. Please visit these professionals along with your parents. In the meantime please do the following sincerely because you could resolve the problem better with good cooperation: Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber, nuts, avocado, exercise regularly, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. I suggest you do the opposite of what this depression makes you feel like doing (actually, not doing): you will need to fight this condition. You must become active; stay upright during the daylight time; meet people; never sleep during the day, wake up by 6 am every day, play some active games, especially contact games, do physical exercises, talk to people and join some social clubs, attend Yoga classes etc. Watch sitcoms on TV or comedies and cheer yourself up. Go for excursions in groups, for outings, camps, conferences, and religious conventions. Get a pet dog and spend time training it, exercising it and relating to it. Expose yourself to some sunlight every day, at least, 30 minutes but not in the scorching heat. Whatever happens, please incorporate these three important adaptations in your life: always be responsible, be respectful, and be functional. If you did these three, lots of things will go well in life. Please pray and have faith in God to alleviate your sufferings. Don’t wait for others to help. Use your own motivation, which might be at its lowest, but persevere and win this battle. Above all to be really happy, you need to live in love and for love. Learn all about emotions and how to handle them and that will get you out of the depression rather easily and quickly. A counselor is there only to facilitate you, all the hard word must come from you, and your cooperation with that person is very critical for your success. Be positive every day and learn to be contented with what you have. Do some left brain exercises: it is the happy brain. Here are a few suggestions: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. Whatever happens please cooperate with the therapy and do not discontinue until the condition is completely resolved. Loss of appetite is not unusual for people depressed. Some hormonal changes will definitely affect the situation too. So the doctor will advise you fo what to do apart from​ these suggestions.

To reduce weight 1) do not eat for 3 hours before you go to sleep. Eating before going to bed is one of the main cause of rapid weight gain. 2) drink 8-10 glasses of water everyday. 3) eat more whole grains and cut simple carbs. Whole wheat bread, oatmeal, whole wheat pasta, sweet potato, and brown rice are all excellent sources of energy and sources of nutrition. 4) don't skip meals. 5) green tea help with weight loss, is by reducing appetite. 6) eat fresh fruits instead of fruit juices. Fruits are good source of fibre except banana mango, chiku. 7). At least half hour walk/day. All are common things but for definite result you need individual diet and exercise schedule.

On 28 the Feb ,me and my girlfriend where making out while she was having her pants on while I was naked having condom I ejaculated later I fingered her. On 8th of March we again made out with her having pants and I ejaculated in condom. And 18 we had the same. On 15th March I did pregnancy test it came out negative. On 23 I checked for pregnancy it came out negative again. But her period is late by 14 days now. She always has irregular period but for past 2 months she was having regular period. She had whitish excretion which stopped on 26 march. During which she had cramps in her stomach. On 30 march I did pregnancy test which came out negative From 29 march she has taken progesterone 5 mg ,10 tablets. She is having cramps but no sign of periods yet. Very tensed please help? Can any body get pregnant without direct insertion into vagina? Why for two months she had normal period on time and now she is not having period on time?
