Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times.

I am 58 years old. For the past one year I am suffering from heavy shoulder pain. I can't sleep at night due to the pain in my shoulder. Please advice.

It may be rotator cuff problem. Since problem is from 1 year, it's best to visit shoulder specialist. If possible, get mri of shoulder with 3 tesla machine and send report.

My daughter age 24, is having severe and untimely pain in arms and legs from past 20-25 days, yesterday there was pain in hand only and spinal area on her back, in hand pain accompanied with temperature gain in arms and head and when pain disappear it becomes cold. She just married last year in may and her in-laws behavior is not good, she is very much mentally disturb, her husband do not say any thing but does not oppose his family for wrong things which disturb her. Please suggest what good can be done and what medical problem she might be having ? please help

My answer to the first part of your question is, your daughter has to consult a general physician in order to rule out typhoid fever, malarial infection, jaundice, anemia or even dengue fever, because all the symptoms you mentioned here are few of the symptoms of such conditions. My answer to the second part of your question is, it is very very common in our country, adjustment problems with in-laws and husband's ignorance in such things. Almost every newly married woman has to face these kind of problems. The problem may be your daughter's incompetence to manage that emotionally. There is a chance for her pain behaviors arising from her unconscious mind crying for help to escape from this stressful situation. Ask her to be positive in her approach towards the in-laws, looking into and praising the positive aspects of them. And it is good her husband remains neutral without torturing her to obey his family members like many others do. Her stress tolerance will develop once she gets children and be busy with child-rearing practices and other future plannings with her husband. If she does not complain about her problems with in-laws, her husband may turn positive towards her in course of time. Until then, you can help her as a patient listener to her problems without giving any judgments or negative comments on anybody, which can give her ventilate her bottled-up emotions leading to relaxation to some extent.

1. Start with Physiotherapy treatment. 2. Learn spinal exercises. 3. Correct your posture. 4. Don't lift heavy things. 5. Don't sit on floor. 6. Do Hot fermentation twice a day. 7. Apply volini cream before sleeping. 8. Take half kg milk everyday. 9. Take calcium, vitamin D 3 and Methylcobalmine supplement for one month minimum.

For last 7 months I am having hip stiffness. Having difficulties during sitting and standing. Feeling huge pressure in waist region. Lost total flexibility. What could be the probable cause as all relevant test results are normal like mri aso vid d, uric acid. What should I do now. Can that be something else other than orthopaedic issues.

Dear lybrate-user, gentle massage over the affected part with lukewarm herbal pain relieving oil for 20 minutes followed by hot fomentation. It will relax the muscles and the veins of your affected part improving the blood supply to the organ and giving strength to it. Please avoid over-use of the part affected i. E. Lifting weight - pushing or pulling heavy objects. Give proper rest to the part - let it heal with the time. This will greatly help. Although some herbal medicines might also help you but after proper history taking.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

There is a tumor on my right arm having small in diameter. It doesn't pain. Should I go surgery for this.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

I am a 25 years pg female student. Since one month suffering from back pain due to probably enlarged gap between two disks (x ray report), perhaps near the lumber area.

Kindly show me a photograph & digital x rays of affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days. Bio d3 max 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do reply back for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Doctor has dignosts after x ray the oesteo arthiritis. My age is 34 and i can not sit on foot on ground. If staircase or long movement feel pain and swelling in the knee. Some times in morning during movement some frictional noise is noticed 1.Orthopaedic has recomnded some nSAID along with calcium and vit d. 2.Homeo has recomended the cal carb,cal flour, some times also urtica urens,hymosa, rustox but the problem is not removed.

First get an x ray spine done a/p and lateral view. Avoid lifting heavy weights, correct your sitting posture sit straight with support to back, if needed change your chair. Till you get x ray done apply hot water bag twice a day, it may help.
