My wife is 47 years old. She has following problems: Thyroid (Hypo) High Blood pressure, Sugar type 2 Have knee pain and ankle pain. Gas problem Her gall bladder is eliminated. Has chest pain while walking (ECG report was normal) She is suffering from all these problem for last 5-7 years. Please advise with special advise for my knee joint pain.

According to her weight she should have 60 kg.She should reduce weight first.As she is suffering from hypothyroidism problem she needs to take medicine.Along with this do exercise like swimming,skipping,push ups,sit ups,squats after taking Lukewarm water with lemon juice on empty stomach in the morning.Eat small amount of food frequently.Avoid sugar,sweetened juice,soft drinks.Avoid fast foods,junk foods,processed foods.Take plenty of watery 'vegetables,whole fruits.Avoid underground vegetables,banana,pumpkin.Take small amount of unrefined foods.Take extra protein to reduce weight.Use small amount of healthy fat.Drink lots of water specially before meals.Use lukewarm water after meals.Use nutritional supplement to control diabetes and to reduce extra weight.Stay stress free and take proper rest.These will help you to reduce fat,control sugar and will control blood pressure,reduce gas problem,chest pain joint pain.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

You need to go to gym. Qudriceps strengthening exercise will help you. Knee extension exercise you should do daily.

Hello do proper rest & do hot fomentation for 15-20 min thrice in a day. Take ust followed by ift for 15 days. Learn strengthening & stretching exercises from physiotherapist. This will help in reducing the pain. Thanks.

There must be inflammation of her occipital regeon and adjoining muscle. She might need some physiotherapy session and strengthening exercises. Same as her lower back also. Must teach a proper postural training also.

I am 57 years old, 85 kg and 5'6. I can't stand on left toe and can stand only for few seconds on left foot. My achilles tendon feels weak. Left foot is by birth, physically thinner but I do not remember any accident or injury. Any solution to strengthen left leg, improve balance on left leg and remove limp.

Pain in heel cord & foot is a common condition rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Do hot fomentation keep a pillow under the legs at night &/when resting. Any way take take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Do ankle/foot & toe exercises it may have to be further investigated make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Physiotherapy will help you. Mr. Lybrate user, chikun gunya patients also have chances for suffering from joint pains for 1-2 yrs. But here it is not that continuity it seems. You must see any orthopedic once for related tests& analysis. If its diagnosed properly, then you may need immediate required t/t. Lybrate-user, madam, looking at her height and weight it is clear that she has (bmi 51.94kg/m2) morbid obesity, which is the main reason for her problems with joints and joint pain. Unless the weight is reduced joint pain will not go away. She may have to look the option of bariatric surgery, which can help in reduction weight.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to have a persistent neck pain as a health issue. If you have localized neck pain with no other symptoms like radiating upper limb pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your neck while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. We will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like dynamic x rays of your neck region. Also since you have complained of pain at other regions of the body as well, I will advise you to get some blood tests done empty stomach from a good lab and send reports across to me: cbc, esr, crp, serum electrolytes, serum vitamin b12 and d levels and thyroid profile.
