I have stones in kidney so I am use tablet s for no results why are not going stones please give the answer.
Hi. Kindly mention about exact size and location of the kidney stone for proper treatment. Prevention: Prevention of kidney stones may include a combination of lifestyle changes and medications. Lifestyle changes You may reduce your risk of kidney stones if you: Drink water throughout the day. For people with a history of kidney stones, drink 12-14 glasses of water everyday. If you live in a hot, dry climate or you exercise frequently, you may need to drink even more water to produce enough urine. If your urine is light and clear, you're likely drinking enough water. Eat fewer oxalate-rich foods. If you tend to form calcium oxalate stones, your doctor may recommend restricting foods rich in oxalates. These include rhubarb, beets, okra, spinach, Swiss chard, sweet potatoes, nuts, tea, chocolate and soy products. Choose a diet low in salt and animal protein. Reduce the amount of salt you eat and choose non animal protein sources, such as legumes. Consider using a salt substitute. Continue eating calcium-rich foods, but use caution with calcium supplements. Calcium in food doesn't have an effect on your risk of kidney stones. Continue eating calcium-rich foods unless your doctor advises otherwise. Ask your doctor before taking calcium supplements, as these have been linked to increased risk of kidney stones. You may reduce the risk by taking supplements with meals. Diets low in calcium can increase kidney stone formation in some people.

You need to get right medications for urine infection based on urine test results. A USG KUB could though provide additional information and also rule out any underlying pathology.

From what you have said, I presume you have completely recovered from urinary infection. So the pain in the back can be because of various other problems, like muscle or orthopedic pain. However a simple ultrasound abdomen can tell whether the kidneys are normal or not.

Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), MS - Urology, MBBS

I have a question that I am suffering from urine infection very frequently, felt pain when urine is passing.
Dear, if you repeated urinary infection then one hae to differentiate between recurrence and relapse. Causes may be many like inadequate dose, inadequate duration, method of taking the medicine like empty stoch for full dtomach. Beyond this one has to find out the cause for recurrent infection like diabetes urinary obstruction, stone or reflux. If you have been investigated before post your reports along with pictures of scan if not then get urine examination andusg done with full bladder volume, bladder wall thickness on full bladder and post vopid residual urine volume. I am 71 years old with Prostate enlargement. Should I restrict my water intake. Thanks

MD - General Medicine, MBBS
General Physician,
No. Restricting your water intake will not decrease the frequency of urine. Besides restricting water can cause dehydration and will increase the chance side effects because of urimax ( giddiness and falls)
