I brush every day but teeth is little yellow in colour. Then I use Colgate whitening paste but there is no result can you help me?

BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
Here is home remedy for brighter teeth--- mix several teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice (or water) to make a paste. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off of them with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply. Leave the paste on for 1 minute, then rinse, so as to avoid the acid effecting enamel. If you are using just water you can leave it on for up to 3 minutes. For faster result you can go for teeth bleaching from dentist.

The type of treatment you have for toothache will depend on the cause of the pain, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. •If your toothache is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If your toothache is caused by a loose or broken filling, the filling will be taken out, any decay will be removed and a new filling put in place. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection. •If your toothache can't be treated using these methods, or if your tooth is impacted (wedged between another tooth and your jaw), it may need to be removed.

Actually after brushing my teeth of 4 hours automatically bad smell starts coming from my mouth. How can stop this? Please advise.

Advanced Aesthetics, BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Hi, there are various reasons of bad breath, like impurities in blood, inefficient digestive system, dry mouth (lack of saliva production), gum disease, cavities, plaque and tartar formation around teeth and gums, kind of diet, improper brushing / cleaning of mouth etc. I would advise you to get a thorough physical and dental examination to rule out the cause of bad breath and to solve it permanently. You can come for a consultation (free of cost) in our clinic.

MY QUESTION SUBJECTED TO DENTIST. I WANT TO POLISH AND LEVELING MY TWO TEETH.AND I HAVE A TWO TEETH ITS VERY SHARP.WHICH KIND OF TREATMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS TWO TEETH.

Hi for your sharp tooth, we can do grinding to an extent by checking the amount of enamel present. Also we need to know the cause of the sharpness. Might be acidity is one. For leveling of the teeth we need to check the condition of the tooth, if you can send us a picture it will be clearer. Brush twice a day and floss daily even when your braces are on. The food particles get stuck into the braces very easily. It is very important to keep them clean.

I am addicted to raw tobacco like gutkha khan for several years. Teeth and gums are very much effected. Wat can be the worst outcome as I don't drink or smoke much. Is a big reason to worry. Wat are the remedies.

MDS
Dentist, Sangli
You need to worry, because all these habits have direct correlation to oral and throat cancer. You can get counselling to quit tobacco. Also use nicotine chewing gum for replacement.

I am a 70 year old male. I have an abscess on the gum near the tooth where root canal was done last year my dentist advise to extract the tooth as it is cracked. A course of antibiotics did not reduce the swelling can I save the tooth?

MDS
Dentist, Kota
Dear there are many things which can decide your treatment plan. As of now - if the tooth got crack below the gums level and can't be saved then go for extraction otherwise retreatment (rerct) can save the tooth.

Having pain in tooth. It get worse in night. It increases when some material gets into the gap. But in general it very low in day time. But in night it goes severe.

Certified Implantologist, BDS
Dentist, Chennai
Means there is severing decay,(deep) so visit a dentist and go for x-ray, if it's deeper, you will have to go for rct (root canal treatment), if not temporary filling can be done folloy with permanent.
