My age is 23, and I have so many pimple on my face and my face is oily so what should I do? please help me.
do let me know if you also have blackheads with pimples? and what current medications and remedies you already tried to treat acne? acne is a common problem in teen. Almost everybody will get pimples during their teen years. First, don't try to self treat acne. Some popular nonprescription acne lotions, cleansers and other skin products can cause a serious reaction (rare), mostly it is normal to have acne in teenage. For pimples it's important to wash your face twice daily to remove impurities, dead skin cells, and extra oil from your skin's surface, avoid touching your face or propping your cheek or chin on your hands. Not only can you spread bacteria, you can also irritate the already inflamed facial skin. Never pick or pop pimples with your fingers, as it can lead to infection and scarring. A dietary therapy with the right medications for pimples can also help a lot. Kojic acid (a natural skin lightener derived from mushroom extract), arbutin (also called bearberry extract), and vitamin c (ascorbic acid) are great alternative ingredients to lighten scars left by acne. Don't use vitamin e or any self prescribed preparations on scars or pimples. Increasing the intake of omega-3 fatty acids through a diet significantly rich in fish and seafood results in lower rates of an inflammatory disease like acne. A low-glycemic-index diet also reduces acne risk. I being a both a registered dietitian (rd) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. I will also suggest home remedies. Do reply back for private consultation for rx.

Hi lybrate-user! its good to hear that you stopped smoking! apart from yellowing your teeth it is also a leading cause of oral cancer. To make your teeth white again you can 1. Go to a dentist, get scaling and polishing done. Ask for bleaching your teeth. 2. Try rubbing strawberries on your teeth. Keep it for 2-3 mins and rinse. Repeat 3 times a week. There are various home based methods which proclaim to brighten up your teeth but over zealous use of them can lead to enamel weakening and porosities and hence teeth sensitivities.

I am suffering from stomach pain. I tried pain killers too but didnt get any relief. Tell me what to do.

I am suffering from stomach pain. I tried pain killers too but didnt get any relief. Tell me what to do.
There are a various causes for stomach problems, treatment depends on the location, severity and type of pain. Laboratory tests such as the complete blood count (cbc), liver enzymes, pancreatic enzymes (amylase and lipase), urinalysis are frequently performed in the evaluation of abdominal pain. If you have h. Pylori infection for which I can prescribe a 14 day treatment plan which will eliminate it. Untreated infection causes ulcers in stomach and may finally lead to cancer. If your pain is occurring once in a year and not regular then such types of pain could be amoebic infection, worm infestation or premenstrual cramps. If pain is occurring frequently then get ultrasound abdomen done.

Small bump does not sound like a threat. If it looks scary to you, it has been changing colors, has a different appearance from rest of the bumps or increasing in size, you should consukt a doctor. Some bumps can be due to an ingrowth, some are just there for no reason, etc. If it is just another bump, no need to worry.

Are there treatments for my red eye condition? When should the treatment start and how long will it last? What are the benefits of this treatment and how successful is it?

Are there treatments for my red eye condition?
When should the treatment start and how long will it last?
What are th...
Redness of the eyes has multiple causes associated with it. To enumerate a few common causes: (1)Allergy of the eye. It is usually caused by improper eye hygiene. There is a tendency to rub the eyes with fingers, handkerchief, cloth, etc. This is not a good habit because it tends to transmit lots of virus, bacteria and dust into the eye. Allergy usually presents with symptoms of watering (clear water), redness and itching of the eye. (2)Infectious conjunctivitis : this is usually associated with white-yellowish discharge. If so, it would be a good idea to go and show to an eye specialist in person. (3)Foreign body lodged in the eye. This is more commonly associated with people who drive 2 wheeler vehicles without protection. It occurs more commonly in one eye. Foreign bodies that commonly get lodged are eyelashes, insect wings, small insects, dust particles, iron particles(more common with people working in the iron industry) The solution for a foreign body lodged in the eye would be better provided by an eye specialist AT THE CLINIC. (4)Raised intraocular pressure: This is a condition known as glaucoma. it is not so common as the previous mentioned conditions. There is usually associated pain in the eyes. It is commonly bilateral(occurs in both eyes). There is usually a positive family history of glaucoma associated in a majority of the cases. (5)Inflammation of the coats of the eyeball. This is known as "uveitis". It is also a relatively less common condition. There is associated pain. It would require a thorough eye checkup including the retina-thus a good idea would be to visit the eye specialist in person. I would once like to have a look at your eyes personally in order to tell you what the cause is for your redness. Let me know whenever feasible for you. Hope my suggestions helped you. Take care, regards-Dr. Chaitanya.

I am a 20 year old boy and I am currently suffering from weight problem. How can I lose my weight?

B.Sc. - Dietitics / Nutrition, Nutrition Certification,Registered Dietitian
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Delhi
I am a 20 year old boy and I am currently suffering from weight problem. How can I lose my weight?
Your weight is controlled by 4 major factors (1) refined sugar consumption (2) exercise and hydration (3) posture and sitting (4) how many times do you indulge yourself - alcohol, binge eating at parties, overeating etc. Step 01: refined sugar 1. Avoid all snacks and commercial products with sugar in them - biscuits, cakes, bournvita, horlicks, coke, pepsi, energy drinks, sweetened yogurt etc. 2. Cut down on your daily intake of tea/coffee and maintain it at 3-4 cups a day. 3. Try to add little sugar to any beverage (coffee, tea, milk, lemon water etc.) that you have and ideally you should refrain from adding any sugar altogether. Step 02: get exercise and proper hydration 1. Try to work out for 20 minutes each day. You do not necessarily have to go to the gym. You can incorporate some pretty powerful exercises in your daily routine like - squats, skipping, surya namaskar and core exercises. 2. Drink 8-10 glasses of water everyday but remember that tea/coffee are not substitutes for pure water. Step 03: improve posture and sitting habits if you have a sitting job then ensure that you do not sit for more than 30 minutes at one stretch. Get up and move a little after every 30 minutes. Step 04: stop indulging and eat more of raw natural stuff 1. No more than 60 ml of hard liqour or 2 glasses of beer per day. 2. Try to eliminate the urge to overeat but if you do overeat try to limit the incidents to two times per week. 3. Eat 4 servings of fruits per day. 4. Each of your meal should contain 50% of raw vegetables. Once you incorporate the above points in your routine you will see a dramatic difference in your weight, physical shape and energy levels. You will find that there are a lot of companies out there that are trying to sell expensive products to naive consumers in the name of weight loss. These products may not necessarily be good for you. Losing and maintaining weight is something which is totally in your hands, it is easy and it is free of cost if you follow the above mentioned points.

Expressing emotions.... Emotional wellness
Emotions can be understood from a solid tree. Roots tell about the foundation and values, stem its integrity, branches its behaviour and flowers are its emotions. If a tree attracts bees, birds and human beings it is magnetic and that is its emotional wellness. Emotional wellness makes you magnetic.Like tree, emotions cannot be permanent. That is why they are called “emotions”-- the word comes from motion, movement. They move; hence they are emotions. Emotions are dynamic like waves on water, they change continuously. This moment you are sad, that moment you are happy; this moment you are angry, that moment you are compassionate. This moment you love, another moment full of hatred; the morning was beautiful, the evening is ugly. And this goes on.This cannot be your nature, because behind all these changes something is needed like a thread that holds all of them together. You continue as an entity – so what is the thread, the polestar? What is permanent in you? There are two types of emotions – expressive and repressive. Expressive emotions might hurt others but repressive emotions will hurt you. The root of all illness and disease is repressive emotions, if you are repressed; it slowly hurts you in a holistic way and eventually affects your expressive emotions. The key to success is to create a balance between these two emotions like riding a bicycle.Emotions have to be relieved, relaxed. When you feel like crying you have to cry; when you feel like laughing you have to laugh. You have to drop this nonsense of repression; you have to learn expression, because only through your sentiments, your emotions, your sensitivity, do you come to that vibration through which communication is possible. If one has to choose between the head and the heart, one should choose the heart, because all the beautiful values of life belong to the heart. The head is a good mechanic, technician, but you cannot live your life joyously just by being a mechanic, a technician, a scientist. The head has no capacity for joy, for blissfulness, for silence, for innocence, for beauty, for love, for all that makes the life rich -- it is the heart that has this capacity. You have been taught never to be angry and you think that a person who is never angry is bound to be very loving. You are wrong. A person who is never angry will not be able to love either. They go together; they come in the same package. A person who really loves will sometimes be really angry. But that anger is beautiful – it is out of love! The energy is hot, and you will not feel hurt by the person’s anger. In fact, you will feel grateful that the person was angry. Have you watched it? If you love someone and you do something and the person is really angry, frankly angry, you feel grateful because he loved you so much that he can afford the anger. If you love yourself and that is a must in life, you will never be repressive, you will be expressive of whatsoever life gives: its joys, its sadness, its peaks, its lows, its days, and its nights. Remember, all negative emotions need energy; they drain you. And all positive emotions and positive attitudes are dynamos of energy; they create more energy, they never drain you.If you are happy, suddenly the whole world flows toward you with energy, the whole world laughs with you. The whole existence goes on giving you more. You are not a burden, you are a flower, you are not a rock and you are a bird. The whole existence feels happy about you.Being emotionally well is more than just handling stress. It also involves being attentive to your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, whether positive or negative.Emotional wellness implies the ability to be aware of and accept our feelings, rather than deny them, have an optimistic approach towards life, and enjoy life despite its occasional disappointments and frustrations. The path to emotional wellness may involve awareness of thoughts and feelings, having a positive attitude, seeking support and expressing emotions in a suitable manner. Setting priorities, accepting mistakes and learning from them are other factors.Practice a few steps like protect your self esteem, take control after a failure, distract yourself from brooding thoughts and find meaning after a loss. Practice physical wellness by doing breathing exercises and manage your daily stress.
