Hi! Seems that you have injured yourself a lot. Ligament injury is graded into 3 degrees. 1st is complete tear of the ligament, which solution is Surgery. 2nd and 3rd grade injuries are partial tears which can be managed with immobilisation of the involved joint, no weight bearing, rest, Cold packs and definetely PHYSIOTHERAPY. No other alternative other than exercises. Meet an orthopaedician to the earliest.

If you are suffering from gastric pain then you should take antacid every morn like pan d or something, also eat meals at regular intervals every 3-4 hrs, have 2 fruits a day in between meals, can eat banana, rusk, toasted bread in the morning. Besides that avoid smoking (if you do) also avoid wearing too tight clothes around the belly. Lastly eat a very light dinner and avoid fried food.

Exercises For Lower Back Pain Relief!

Back pain that grips you every moment you stand up is a sign that you need to work on your back and thigh muscles. When you are not paying attention to this warning sign, it can lead to a chronic condition that can prevent you from doing even the daily routine activities.

Performing the right exercises can help you keep back pain at bay, and prevent it turning into a threat to your physical and emotional health.

  1. Partial crunches: This is a core strengthening exercise that helps the lower back and the ab area. People who suffer from spondylitis can find this a great workout to manage pain. To do this, choose a flat surface. Lie on your back with bent knees. Your feet should be flat on the floor. Keep your arms on the chest, crossed. Or you can even place them at the back of your head. Your stomach muscles should be tight and slowly raise the shoulders. Breathe out slowly. You will feel the urge to raise the elbows and neck to ease the movement. But, you shouldn’t try this. Hold for a second, and get back to the floor slowly. Repeat this 8 to 10 times. When you cannot keep ab muscles tight, you will be straining the back muscles and joints again. So, maintain the right posture.
  2. Hamstring stretches: The hamstring muscles at times become inflexible, which leads to the radiating pain from the thighs to the lower back. You need to lie flat and bend your knee. One leg should be unbent. Keep a soft towel and thread it under the ball of your foot of the unbent knee. Slowly straighten the knee and pull back the towel softly. During this, you will feel a gentle stretch in the back of the leg. Stay in the position for 30 seconds. Initially, you will not be able to stay for this long. So you can start with 10 seconds. Do this stretch at least 4 times for each leg.
  3. Press up back extensions: Begin this position by lying down on your stomach. Place your hands underneath your shoulders. Push the hands down. You will feel the shoulders lifting away from the ground. You can also place the elbows on the ground if you feel comfortable. Stay in this position for 30 seconds.
  4. Knee to chest: You can ease your muscles in the thighs and lower back with this exercise. Lie on the back, and your feet should be flat. Now bend the knees. Slowly move one leg to the chest with the knees bent. The other has to be flat on the ground with bent knees. Your lower back should be on the floor. You need to hold for several seconds. Lower the knee. Then repeat with the other leg. Do this 4 times for each leg.

All these exercises can do wonders but give some time to experience the effect and do it regularly. You will feel the changes in due course of time. Do not continue when you encounter severe pain during the workout session. You should also ensure that you stick to the right posture while performing these exercises. In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Sir, I am 62 years male. I had sustained ligament injury in my left knee in1982 and the same was reconstructed in AIIMS in 2004. Now I had been feeling much pain in left knee for the last two weeks and experiencing much difficulty in walking. I have been taking tablet Dolokind Plus twice a day for the last three days. The pain is completely disappeared now. I want to know whether I should stop taking further medicine or should I continue to take it once a day instead of twice? Can I continue taking it for long time once a day or once on alternate day? Is it harmful if I take it permanently once on alternate day or once a week. Please advise. Thanks a lot.

Numerous studies have found that female athletes who participate in jumping and pivoting sports are four to six times more likely to sustain a knee ligament injury, such as anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, than male athletes participating in the same sports [1-8]. A widening gender gap in the number of serious knee ligament injuries exists due to geometric growth in female athletic participation, coupled with the four- to sixfold higher injury rate. More than 50,000 serious knee injuries are projected to occur in female varsity intercollegiate and high school athletics each year [9, 10]. Most ACL injuries occur by noncontact mechanisms, often during landing from a jump or making a lateral pivot while running [2, 11]. Knee instability, due to ligament dominance (decreased medial-lateral neuromuscular control of the joint), quadriceps dominance (increased quadriceps recruitment and decreased hamstring recruitment and strength), and leg dominance (side-to-side differences in strength, flexibility, and coordination) are possible contributing factors to the increased incidence of knee injury in female athletes [5, 6]. In this review, dynamic neuromuscular analysis (DNA) training is defined, and a rationale is presented for correcting the neuromuscular imbalances that may result in dynamic knee instability during sports play. Dynamic neuromuscular training has been shown to increase knee stability and decrease knee injury rates in female athletes [5, 12.., 13.]. Preliminary research on athlete screening and injury prediction based on the three aforementioned imbalances also is presented with recommendations for developing screening protocols for the identification of high-risk athletes.

Try this for joint pains try this. Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings. This will relieve your problem. Consult after 10 days.

Thanks for contacting with your health concern 1. C.In Ayurveda we consider Rheumatism [AS] under ‘AAM’ i.e. Disease arising from/due to improper metabolism so treatment and Management are directed towards: i. Expelling the already formed AAM, [trifla], and methods to prevent further AAM formation [deepan/pachan ] ii. Avoid urad dal, curd, fish, jaggery, milk, incompatible and heavy food, suppression of natural urges, anxiety, grief, outdoor activities when the sky is covered with clouds, and cold wind. .Take: maize, horse gram, karela, dried ginger, garlic, ajwain, saunf, marich, saindhav lavan, hing, jeera, old ghee, lukewarm water, castor oil, light walking, sudation, warm clothes, garlic and ginger mixed buttermilk. Fry 250 ml ginger juice in 250 ml of til tail, when 250 ml remains [make sure oil doesn't get burn], filter it after cooling and massage. Boil 1 spoon dried ginger in 4 cups of water till 1 cup remains, filter it and add 2 spoon castor oil and drink. PS. For the medicines which are effective and result oriented kindly consult or book an appointment on Lybrate itself.
