I am 60 years old having diabetes using Glycomet GP2, Pioz 15 one daily. Now Sugar under control Fasting 120, For BP 160/80 I was using Benitec 40 Half Tablet. Under control 130/80 and I stopped genetic 40 and now again after 6 months my BP is 160/80. I am getting high constipation, Gas problem and some times breathlessness. What should I do?

Diploma in Nutrition
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Secunderabad
Hello sir, hope you are doing good. Pls don't stop bp medication, unless doctor ask you to stop. Diabetes, bp require a long term medication. But this might also lead to your constipation problem. If you have constipation more than occasionally or have severe pain or bleeding, it's important to check-in with your doctor as these symptoms can be a sign of a more serious digestive disorder. However, in most cases constipation is just a sign that your diet needs more fiber. The average adult needs between 25 and 30 grams of fiber a day to ward off constipation, far less than most of us typically eat. To avoid bloating and cramping, you'll want to gradually add fiber to your diet. Badam, orange, apple has more fiber pls eat as raw. Dont make a juice of it. Let me suggest you some best fiber supplement from who certified. This fiber is easily digestible and give a best result you need to take after meals in the afternoon and evening. Just leave a message to me on my private questions. Have a nice day.

Our Daily energy requirements for proper functioning of our body is 1600-2200 K cal of Energy if we want to remain fit and healthy. But there is a misconception that weight is reduced by dieting. But weight is not reduced by only skipping our meals or prohibition from sugars but until we are not aware what are our body energy requirements ,it will be difficult to loose weight. If we restrict ourself from taking daily diet to 1100-1200 Kcalories ,and increases our workouts, only then we can think about reducing our weight and for that we must obtain proper knowledge of exact energy levels in a particular dish we are eating, only then we can achieve our target of reducing weight by means of simple mathematical calculation. How to quit smoking

Homeopath, Raebareli
How to quit smoking
Triggers are the people, places, things, and situations that trigger your urge to smoke. On your quit day, it's best to avoid them all together. Here are a few tips to help you outsmart some common smoking triggers:
Throw away your cigarettes, lighters, and ash trays if you haven't already
Avoid caffeine, which can make you feel jittery; try drinking water instead
Hang out with non-smokers; most people don't smoke, so you should have options
Go to a place where smoking isn't allowed; unless you want to break the law, you won't light up
Get plenty of rest and eat healthy; lack of sleep and too much sugar can trigger you to smoke

Want a good advice over a height growth. Please recommend me a good advice and remedy over height growth and weight gain.

Dietitian/Nutritionist, Chandigarh
Hanging on the rod: You spend the majority of your day in an upright, vertical position. One of the biggest hurdles in the path of growing tall is gravity, which compresses your spine, joints, squeezes the cartilage and makes you shorter. However, you can get rid of this obstacle through a simple hanging exercise, which has become a quite popular method to increase a person’s height by one to two inches. The reason being it lets the weight of your lower torso stretches your spine. Take a horizontal bar or rod and place it high enough so that you can hang on it by holding and let your body fully extend. If your body cannot fully extend, then you can bend your knees slightly until you hang freely. Try to hang for at least 20 seconds and repeat. You should also repeat this exercise a minimum of three times. Dry Land Swim: This exercise is popularly known as the Alternate Leg Kick and focuses on your lower back. Lay down flat on your stomach. Your body should be fully extended. Put your arms straight out in front of you. Your palms should face the floor. Raise your left arm higher than your right arm and lift your right leg off the ground as far as you can, with your other leg straight on the ground. Remain in that position for 4-5 seconds. Then raise your other arm and leg and repeat the process. Pelvic Shift: This is a common exercise and favorite among gym instructors. It is simple and you feel a whole lot of stretching up and down your spine and in your hips while doing this exercise. Lie on your back with your shoulders and arms placed firmly on the ground. Bend your knees and bring your feet as much as possible near to your buttock. Next, arch your back so that your pelvis thrusts upward. Remain in this position for about 20 seconds and then gradually increase it to 30 seconds. Yoga for Increasing Your Height: Research studies have also shown that yoga and proper breathing techniques can play a fantastic role in increasing your height naturally. It is said that when we inhale deeply during yoga exercises, we release the stress that causes tension in your back muscles, which in turn removes the obstacle to enhance growth of the body. There are also a number of yoga postures which are particularly helpful in increasing your height. These yoga poses for keeping your body upright and increasing height are as follows: Surya Namaskar: This is an age-old yoga exercise with 12 different postures and performed in a chronological manner. Trikonasana: Trikonasana helps in improving your balance. This yoga exercise gives you a good posture. Also known as triangle pose. Talasana: Talasna strengthens your arms, legs and spines. Keeps your body smooth. Helpful height gain. Sukhasana: This is supposed to be the central position from which the other yoga postures started. You control your breathing and tone your lower back and hips by doing this asana. Adhomukha Savasana: Also known as the downward facing dog. This asana increases the blood flow to your face and neck.

Could you please suggest me tablet which contain all three nutrients as there are various multivitamin in market like revital, daily formula etc but the content of biotin, zinc and iron is negligible according to daily requirement. Please suggest me tablet?

Try nature's bounty zinc magnesium supplements. For biotin you need to have a separate supplement. But I would like to tell you something that whatever supplement you take, always take it along with a multivitamin to keep the balance of nutrients. Too much of one mineral or vitamin can cause poisoning.

My mother is suffering from schizoaffective disorder. She is into medications but her condition has worsen after taking medicines. She has gone into depression. Doctor has said to continue the medicines. Is this normal? Do this medicines has side effects? If yes how to cope up with the side effects. My mother is not willing to take the medicines anymore.

MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Chennai
The medication rexipra is an antidepressant, and the prescription seems to be revised for making your mom come out of depression. Rather than her condition worsening after medication, it seems the illness is increasing in severity and the present medication is not helping, also it take few weeks to bring the symptoms to remission, if in doubt get a 2nd opinion from any other psychiatrist. All the best.
