6 Do's and Don'ts of Healthy Eating Habits

6 Do's and Don'ts of Healthy Eating Habits

6 do's and don'ts of healthy eating habits

Do's

1. Try to eat more unprocessed foods

Use fresh ingredients like vegetables, eggs, milk, lean meat etc to prepare your meals in and try to avoid consumption of processed food as far as possible. In most cases, processed food items are loaded with preservatives, added chemical substances, sweeteners, fats and artificial colours, which should be avoided to maintain good health. Also, make sure to include lots of fresh fruits, nuts and legumes in your daily diet instead of fruit juices, instant noodles or frozen food items.

2. Include whole grains in your diet

Whole grains have a lesser glycemic index (figure that measures the ability of carbohydrates to increase glucose in your blood), which makes them a healthy food option. Whole grains keep you full for long hours while providing you with energy to concentrate at work throughout the day. When it comes to taste, the flavour and nuttiness of whole grains are superior to refined ones. So, prefer wholegrain bread, pasta or brown rice when choosing your food items.

3. Monitor your serving sizes

Monitoring the amount of what you eat is important as it helps you to limit your intake of unhealthy food. Also, ensure that the amount of food you eat for dinner is lesser than that of your lunch. Ideally, for lunch, you should ensure that half your meal consists of salad or vegetables and the other half should contain lean proteins and low-gi or whole grain carbs in equal amounts.

Don'ts

1. Skip breakfast

Breakfast is considered to be the most significant meal of the day. Make it a habit to have breakfast every day as skipping this meal can adversely affect your health by causing obesity, irritated mood, and headaches while increasing your risks of getting hypoglycaemia (deficiency of glucose in your bloodstream).

2. Eat excessively saturated fat

Try to minimise your intake of food containing saturated fats as this can lead to the accumulation of weight in different parts of your body. Instead of consuming, huge amounts of milk, cheese, butter, bacon, meat etc. Switch to low-fat substitutes like white-meat chicken, reduced-fat dairy products, soy versions of traditional meat etc.

3. Give up your entire diet plan for a small mistake

If you happen to make only one dieting mistake, don't feel disappointed and start munching on unhealthy or junk food. Just remember that eating large amounts of unhealthy food can nullify all the effects of healthy eating you have experienced so far.

Do we need to have 7 hours of sleep nly at night or can we work at night nd sleep during day?
Hi. As all of us know that one need 6-9hrs. of sound sleep. Now the culture and work hours in BPOs is different, the person's body gets habituated and adapted accordingly. But as you are a student, always better to study in daytime or may be till late hours and sleep at night as natural light is more beneficial than studying under an artificial one and to get sound sleep, it's only possible at night when there is pin drop silence!

The best way to get a flat stomach is to try high intensity cardio. This is because it burns a larger number of calories than low intensity cardio. Playing sports such as football, basketball, cricket, tennis and other sports is also helpful in promoting weight loss. You should perform cardio exercises each day for 60 minutes. Brisk walking is considered an effective cardio workout for those who suffer from joint problems, as it does not place much stress on the joints, compared to other cardio exercises such as running or cycling.

Eat a lot of good things - you need to eat a ridiculous amount of calories (probably 3500+ per day) if you want to gain weight, but you want to make sure most of those calories are good calories. You could easily get 3500 calories eating taco bell and twinkies, and drinking mountain dew, but that will just make you fat. If you want to build muscle, you want to eat healthy calories that are loaded with good protein, good carbs, and healthy fats? which brings me to my next point? protein = building block for your muscles. Chicken, fish, meat, eggs, milk, almonds, peanuts. Eat lots of this sleep? you need to be getting 8-9 hours of sleep every night for maximum gains. Your body is doing nothing but lying there and building muscle while you? re sleeping. If you are only getting 6 hours or less, you? re not going to get all the benefits of your exercising and diet. I know it? s tough, but those 3am raids on runnyeye need to be put on hold for a few months. Sleep. For ayurvedic medicine consult, in 1 month wt increase 4-5 kg no any side effect you take 1 month trial pack and course is 3 month.

1. Drink Enough Water Water is the best medicine to maintain a clear, healthy and glowing skin. Drinking plenty of water will make the skin supple. You must drink atleast 8 glasses of water per day. Water should never be an option, since it is  the key to hydration. Water helps to moisturize your skin, and  flushes the toxins to clean your body from inside 2.Sleep Well You must have enough sleep, as the skin cells rejuvenates and heal themselves. Sleeping properly lowers your stress levels and avoid your skin from dry, dullness. Try to get at least 8 hours of sleep with your back facing the bed, because when you sleep on your side ways or facing your pillow then the bacteria on that pillow might spread to your face. Also remove your make up before going to bed and wash your face with a mild soap. 3. 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice (approximately) -Q-tips or cotton balls (optional) -Yogurt (optional) Directions Rinse face gently with water and pat dry. Dab fingers, a cotton ball, or a Q-tip in lemon juice and apply to pimple. If it stings, try mixing it first with a bit of yogurt. 4. Honey and cinnamon used together helps to fight acne because of its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial properties. Add a couple of drops of tea tree oil to either of the masks above during an active acne breakout. Tea tree oil is considered one of the best home remedies for acne. Along with tae homeopathic treatment for best result. Take care.

Start taking black til (seasam) with a glass of lukewarm milk early morning. Avoid pickles, spices, oily, greesy food items, too much of salt in food shud be avoided. Start avle ka murabba daily. Also have a high protien rich diet e. G. Pulses, dry fruits, black gram, ground nut etc, white of egg (if you eat egg). Also oil your hair with good herbal oil and wash with herbal shamppoo - avoid shampoos with high acid contents. As far as ayurveda's therapy is concerned - start with shirodhara with herbal oil and nasyam therapy for atleast 15 days. This will greatly help. Do gentle massage with herbal hair oil daily night for 15 minutes.

Please Advise me can I take tranquil biochemic for anxiety along with my other allopathic medicines?

Hypnotherapist, DCS, BSIC, Advanced Trainee of Transactional Analysis, Advanced Skills in Counselling
Psychologist,
Anxiety is a thought disorder, which can be managed through thought and emotional management along with medications. This can target the dysfunctional thought process that you could be having which are the root cause of anxiety. Counselling for anxiety management can help you in the following way: 1. See your problem in smaller bits and pieces, analyse each bit and seek solutions for each separately. If you see the problem as a whole and too closely, it can become overwhelming and too much work causing anxiety which could have given you gas and bp. 2. Be realistic: know your strengths and do what you can to the extent possible. Knowing your limitations is equally important, so that you don't overextend yourself and then feel inadequate /failure. In this case, you could take help of a relative, colleague, friend, professional who has the expertise in this field. This will make your work easier. 3. Learn to delegate work: you would be able to judge who all and which resources in your environment can become an opportunity which you can use to get your work done. For eg. If you are finding office work too demanding and are unable to take out time for exercising everyday, then it's possible that you realise that there is some space in your office where you can put up a small personal gym and you can exercise there regularly. You couldalso delegate some of your work to a capable colleague, who is agreeable to help you at that time, because you have helped him sometime back when he was having a bad back. 4. Prioritise and organise: you would want to decide which of your activities are time wasters and which activities are important. This will save you time if you start giving less time to unproductive activities. Organising your day/week/month in advance will help you put work in place and see a pattern for doing activities which will be more productive for you. Successful people don't work hard. They just use their time and skills smartly. 5. Be flexible: when you are planning, be flexible in how you want to carry out certain activities. Some things which are not in your control for eg. Weather, may put a spoke in plan for the day. Be ready to make last minute changes. And do something else during that time so that time is not wasted. It's better to have an alternate plan in store usually. 6. Have faith and hope: trust yourself and others to carry out their jobs. Know each ones strengths and limitations. Be realistic in your expectations and do your best. Now leave it to god to do his magic. This is very important. If it has to happen, it will. If it didn't happen, then don't lose hope. It will happen another time. Or maybe it wasn't meant to happen this way. Whatever it is. Don't take life too seriously. Nothing is more important than your health and life. If you have any queries, then contact me on private chat.
