Computer Eye Strain is known as computer vision syndrome Follow the advice given below. 1. Take a break-Use 20-20 rule, Take a break for 20 second after working in computer for 20 minutes and look at some thing 20 feet away. 2.Blink Frequently to prevent dryness of eyes 3.Use of computer glass- it optimises your eye sight when you are looking at digital screen and helps to decrease glare 4. Keep your monitor bright- this decreases flicker 5. Use proper lighting like incandescent light 6. Check position of monitor- monitor should be placed 4-5 inches below eye level and 20-28 inches from eyes 7. Adjust, screen resolution 8.Minimise glare- clean monitor regularly to remove dust and place an anti glare screen 9.Try massage or eye cupping- Massaging the area around the eye will relax eye muscle. What You Should Know About Urinary Incontinence?

MBBS, MS - General Surgery, DNB (UROLOGY), MNAMS

What You Should Know About Urinary Incontinence?

Urinary incontinence is the inability to hold urine in the bladder because of loss of control of the bladder. The severity may range from temporary to chronic, depending on the cause of this disease. Urinary incontinence is more common in women than men and can be categorized into three types.

Types and symptoms of urinary incontinence

Stress incontinence: this incontinence may occur while participating in any physical activity such as a sudden cough, laugh, sneezing or exercising. The stress here refers to the sudden physical pressure that a person experiences, leading him/her to urinate involuntarily.

Urge incontinence: a sudden, involuntary contraction of the muscular wall of the bladder causes an urgency to urinate. This urgency can be formed by a sudden change in position or sex.

Overflow incontinence: this is more common in men with prostate gland problems, damaged bladder or blocked urethra. The person has an urge to urinate frequently but in small amounts.

Causes of urinary incontinence

There are a number of causes of urinary incontinence ranging from aging to cancer and physical damage to the neurological disorder.

1. Aging: with age, the bladder muscle weakens and the chances of incontinence increases.

Damage: since the pelvic muscles support the bladder any damage to it (surgery or any procedure to remove the uterus) can lead to urinary incontinence.

2. Enlarged prostate: enlargement of the prostate gland in older men may give rise to this condition.

Cancer: urinary incontinence may be associated with untreated prostate cancer, which is a side effect of treatments for it.

3. Menopause: estrogen is a hormone that keeps the lining of bladder and urethra healthy. After menopause the production of estrogen is decreased, increasing the chances of urinary incontinence.

4. Prevention: urinary incontinence is not preventable but some steps can be taken to reduce the risk of it. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, avoiding smoking, practicing pelvic floor exercises, avoiding caffeine and acidic foods and eating more fiber to prevent constipation can help decreasing the risk of it. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Urologist.

How to remove bad breath ? Is it because of mouth or due to acidity . Suggest good tooth paste . Should I use tongue ...
Hello lybrate-user, both mouth and stomach can be the reason for it. Deposition of plaque and calculus around teeth cause gum infection hence bad breath, deposition (whitish yellow layer) over tongue, unfilled decayed teeth are also responsible for bad breath. Regarding stomach, both uncleared stomach as well as acidity can cause bad breath. Avoid spicy food, try to increase your water intake. I suggest you to visit a dentist for professional cleaning of your teeth because this helps removing plaque and calculus. You can use antibiotic mouth rinses twice a day. Also follow good oral hygiene habits.

I am 35 male, weigh 78 kg. I am having tachycardia so taking pill (telmisartan+metoprolol) combination from 5 years suggested by cardiologist. I get on and off pains near left chest, just 2 inch below left nipple, sometimes 3_4 inch above left nipple. Sometimes 2 inch upright of left nipple. I feel better when I squeeze that part. 10 days back, I again started worrying and met good cardiologist. He did ECG and said it has nothing to do with heart. And told to continue pill which I am taking for bp. From last 4-5 days I am feeling dull pain in right arm. The pain is 4_5 inch above elbow and 3_4 inch below soft shoulder part of left arm. I just called different cardiologist who saw my recent ECG, he asked me whether I HV sugar and if I can pull up weight by hand. I said I can lift any weight and no sugar but only feels some unbearable pain on left arm, particular point that makes that upper arm feel uneasy. He also said, it's not related to heart. Now, I am having burping since last so many days and such pains esp left side on and off and now on left arm point. Is it acidity? Is it ulcer? Is it pinched nerve? O worry if it's enigma. I have anxiety as well. I am concerned about cardiac arrest as in news saw lot of young ppl died of cardiac arrest. please guide me through. Thanking you doctor.
