I am suffering from severe back pain do to continuous study. What can I do for this? How can I get relief?
Continuous studies necessitated long sitting hrs. Pl have walks and stretch body. Stretching can be done during studies too intermittently. There will be no time waste. Upon relieving of pains you will experience more concentrated studies. For the time being, before bathing pl massage with herbal oils like mahanarayan oil and mahavishgarbh oil mixed. Bath with hit water. Take roasted hing + black salt + ajwain with bit/ warm water daily night. For sustained relief, without loss of studies, get proper ayurveda treatment without side effects. Pl avoid pain killer tabs.

Hello lybrate user, back pain has many causes like age related degenerative changes in the spine, trauma leading to bony fractures or even soft tissue injuries, tumors of the spine etc. In younger patients back pain is commonly due to slip disc, muscle spasm, infections like tuberculosis or rarely due to some congenital abnormality of the spine or spinal deformities. You have to understand that this is just a small list of causes related to the spine. Sometimes problems of the chest or abdomen can also cause pain to be felt in the back. Childhood injuries, I would think is a very rare cause of back pain as minor injuries in children heal very well. Injuries severe enough to cause pain now would have a single episode in the past where you could point out your similar severe symptoms specifically. For a complete assessment, I would suggest, you see an orthopaedician or a spine surgeon.

Hi Apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day.. .

I have a sitting job and am suffering from chronic pain in lower back. X ray shows no problem with bones. But pain is not subsiding with medication. physiotherapist exercises have provided sm relief but not 100%. Have tried homeopathic and Ayurveda as well. Kindly suggest.

Just check out your posture while sitting. Is the chair ergonomically designed that is there is no undue strain on the back muscl es. Check out for any abnormalities in kidney by checking your renal functioning tests. Try taking small breaks in-between. Ensure to take a well balanced diet.

For pain apply ice water and hot water fomentation thrice a day for 10 days of 15 minutes duration each time and ift physiotherapy treatment for 10 days followed by spinal flexion & extension exercises

Eat more onions: they are a famous anti-inflammatory food. They contain phytochemicals that improve your immune system. The sulfur compounds in onions inhibit the enzymes that trigger pain. A study establishes that fresh onions have an analgesic effect similar to that of morphine. Massage the joint: a gentle massage with warm oil eases inflammation, improves circulation and relaxes your muscles. As a result, your joints feel better, too. A tried-and-tested home remedy for knee pain in our household is to heat two tablespoons of mustard oil, along with a whole clove of garlic (which is also known for its inflammation-fighting properties). When the oil is still hot but not scalding, start massaging your aching knees with it. It brings immediate relief.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Actually pain at calf/leg region can be due to many reasons, commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to tendons, nerves, blood vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - we will get some blood tests for you - serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp once you have all these reports then you can contact me as I can advise you for proper supplementation do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Hello apply prasarini oil or pranacharya restopain oil on your affected part. Take yograj guggul and agni tundi vati after lunch and dinner with warm water. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. Avoid fermented food.

Pain radiating means threre is compression on nerve. It may be because of slip disc, spondylosis, tight pyriformis etc consult with nearer physiotherapist doctor. Physiotherapy is the only treatment for your condition. If you don't want to go for surgical option. It will be treated with electro modalities, manual therapy, exercise therapy etc.

Hi You are extremely young to be having any kind of pain and if there are multiple joints which are involved, we need to examine and investigate you. Can you tell me which joints are actually involved, apart from pain is there any swelling, skin redness, local warmth etc also associated with pain? are there any other systemic symptoms also associated apart from pain in the joints? what investigations have been done and management done for this condition?

Requires detailed examination and investigation. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Loss of normal lumbar lordosis seen? Due to muscle spasm. Lumbar vertebrae appears normal in alignment .No listhesis. Small Schmorl's nodes noted involving the endplates of multiple lumbar vertebra. Degeneration ofL1-L2, L2-L3 and L4-L5 lumbar intervertebral discPosterior annular tear noted at L1-L2, L2-L3 and L4-LSlevels. At Ll-L2 level there is right paramidline protrusion, No foramina narrowing. At L2-L3, L3-L4 diffuse posterior disc bulge noted ,causing effacement of ventral thecal sac and inferior recess of bilateral neural foramina narrowing at L3-L4 level. At L4-L5 level, posterocentral and left forminal protrusion causing, significant canal stenosis and left neural foramina narrowing ,resulting in compression of exiting L4 and traversing LS nerve roots at this level. At LS-Sllevel, no disc bulge or herniation. Conus medullaris appear unremarkable. Impression:- Lumbar spondylosis degenerative changes as mentioned ,predominant at L4-L5 level.- At L4-LSlevel, posterocentral and left forminal protrusion causing, significant canal stenosis and left neural foramina narrowing ,resulting in compression of exiting left L4 and traversing Left LSnerve roots at this level. I have pain on back due to above isse.

If pain is confined to back and not radiating to lower limbs and backache tolerable or responsive to pain medication and muscles relaxants, wearing of spinal brace in daytime and physiotherapy exercises if permissible, nothing more needs to be done. If symptoms disrupting normal life activity, a neurologist surgeon or spine surgeon consultation for surgical interference for canal stenoses, foramina narrowing and disc herniation can be decided. So consult spine surgeon.
