Hello doctor we have planning for baby my wife period date is 30th but this month comes 23rd day what is the problem.
Hello- A wide variety of factors can be responsible for irregular periods, among them: Significant weight gain or loss Overexercise Poor nutrition (or a diet too high in carbohydrates) Smoking Drug use Caffeine Excessive alcohol use (interfering with how the liver metabolizes estrogen and progesterone) Eating disorders Increased stress Polycystic ovarian syndrome/Estrogen dominance Uterine abnormalities (fibroids/cysts/polyps/endometriosis) Hormonal imbalances related to perimenopause Medications Chemotherapy Recent childbirth, miscarriage, or D&C Breastfeeding Irregularity in menses is not a good sign if you are planning pregnancy. Avoid above mentioned factors and start herbal medications.

Hello, you should repeat the pregnancy test with a morning sample of urine as well. If that is negative, go for a sonogram and hormonal evaluation. Keep a calendar of menstrual cycle.

Hello. You haven't mentioned the date of last delivery. You can take homoeopathic medicines - Pulsatilla 200/ one dose once a week for 1 month and Hamamelis Q (take only during the menses)/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water after every 2 hrly. Did you have calcium and iron tablets? If not, start with Calcarea Phos. 6x and Ferrum Phos. 6x - both thrice a day for 3 months. Revert me back.

If you had vaginal delivery then you can join gym or yoga now. But if you had caesarian section you should avoid doing those things for at least 1 year. Yes you can have intercourse now.

Get your hb test done to rule out anaemia. If anaemia is there, take balance diet, don't skip your meals, reduce your weight to ideal weight compared to your height and restore your hb to 13gm by medicine.

No time to eat? Negative effects of skipping a meal

No time to eat? Negative effects of skipping a meal

Skipping a meal has become a common phenomenon among most working people. You tend to miss breakfast on off days or skip dinner since you are too tired or sleepy. Skipping a meal once in a while may not have any serious effects although making a habit out of it can alter your body metabolism. The way your body reacts to skipped meals varies depending on your age, diet and health. Here are a few negative effects skipping a meal can have on your body-

1. Low brain function - There are times when you choose to compensate for a heavy meal you had by skipping another altogether. Your body weakens even if you skip one meal and subsequently your brain can't function actively and you tend to lose your focus. The brain runs on glucose primarily, hence, you can't think clearly because of low blood sugar level due to skipping a meal. It worsens in case you have made a regular habit out of it.

2. Mood swings and stress - Mood swings and irritable attitude is very common in case you are starving yourself. Due to low blood sugar level in your body, you tend to snap and get easily annoyed. The symptoms worsen if you make it a habit. You tend to get more stressed and face trouble in making decisions. Skipping meals regularly can make you really moody and jittery all the time. You tend to have angry outbursts in situations where you would otherwise deal tactfully.

3. More chances of overeating - Fasting increases the chances of overeating. You may choose to skip a meal as a compensatory act but there are more possibilities that you will end up binging later. Denying your body the appropriate amount of food only makes it crave for more. Most of the times you are likely to end up eating junk food and make up for the skipped meal. It's best to eat proper nutritious meals than loading up on junk food.

4. Gaining weight - There are high chances of gaining pounds if you skip a meal routinely. You tend to overeat usually when your body feels deprived and gives you hunger pangs. If you restrict yourself too much then it interferes with your body metabolism. Your body goes into a survival mode and starts storing everything you consume as fat. That way whatever you eat adds to your waistline and does not do much good.

Teen Life: Dealing with Peer Pressure and Sex

MBBS, DGO, MD - Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MRCOG
Gynaecologist, Delhi
Teen Life: Dealing with Peer Pressure and Sex

Peer pressure is always difficult to deal with, especially when it comes to sex. Many girls feel the pressure from friends to have sex before they're ready, which is why it's so important to have the confidence to say no to something you don't feel ready to do.

Just because your friends are having sex or say they're having sex doesn't mean that you have to as well! you might feel like everyone is doing it, but you will soon realize that this is not the case. Your friends may talk about sex in a casual manner. If you have a good group of friends, they should not be pressuring you into doing something that you're not ready to do.

Pressure from magazines, celebrities and peers can all contribute to the pressure that you may feel. On tv, sex is displayed in such a casual way, however you should remember that sex is actually a really big deal! you need to make sure that you're completely confident and comfortable with your decision if you do decide to have sex. Think carefully how you feel yourself about having sex, as this is the first step in handling the peer pressure. It's okay to have fun when you're a teenager, but equally you need to respect yourself enough to say no I'm not ready and your peers should respect that too. When making the decision to have sex, consider whether peer pressure is influencing your decision or if it's something that you have decided that you are ready to do. Once you've had sex for the first time you can't go back, so make sure it's a decision that you won't regret.

Remember that there is no certain age that you are expected to have sex a lot of people wait until they're married! everybody is different and will mature and feel ready at different ages, so just because your friend is doing it and feels ready now, this does not mean that you should feel that way too. Don't ever have sex just to fit in with your friends, as they will respect you more if you stick to your morals and don't do things just because you're pressured to.

If you're worried about peer pressure, know that you're not alone. Hang out with friends who understand you and also believe that it's okay to wait to have sex. If you're going on a first date, go along with friends so it's not just you and your date. This way, if you feel worried that you might be pressured into doing something you don't want to, you won't be alone. Think of what you would say in advance if anyone tries to pressure you in the future, so that you're not caught off guard or feel like you have to do something you don't want to. You are never obliged to have sex with someone, so even if they try to make you feel guilty never do something that you don't want to do, as it's always your decision. Sex is not something that you should rush into, so take your time until you feel 100% ready to take the next step. Respect yourself, your morals and your body and when the time is right to take the next step, you will know.

I understand your query but i'm sorry to inform you that by these measures we cannot know the gender of the baby. By this data all I can gather is that you and your baby are fine and the pregnancy is progressing smoothly. To know the gender and ultrasound particularly looking for the baby's genitalia only can ascertain the sea of the baby. Unfortunately by the pndt act of india doctors are not allowed to see or declare the sea of the baby so i'm sorry I don't think it will be a good idea to ask any doctor to see for it. Hope this information has put doubts to rest. Let me know if I can assist you in any other way. All the best.

Hello, Regular and proper menstruation flush out toxins every month from the body of the female naturally. If this blood flow is obstructed by some dietary misconducts or digestion upset (constipation) the toxins are absorbed back in the body causes skin disease, pimples, hot flashes etc. For permanent cure you must follow a proper indian menstruation schedule, along with this chew fresh neem leaves in the morning, wash face dour to five times a day, apply coriander powder+Multani mitti paste over bumps and avoid spicy and oily foods. You will feel better. Good luck.

You can always decide what sex activities you want to do and what not. Otherwise you can use some lubricant like Simple coconut oil or glycerine for anal lubrication before trying anal sex.

Morning Sickness!

Lactation Consultant, Childbirth Educator, MHA, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Delhi
Morning Sickness!
Morning sickness is probably the most disturbing symptom of pregnancy. It occurs in 75% of women during the first trimester of pregnancy. Though it is commonly called morning sickness, it can occur during any time of the day, sometimes all day long. Most women feel nauseatic, some may vomit as well. Though the symptom generally goes away around the 5th month, some women may continue feeling sick throughout their gestation period. Morning sickness may also cause weight loss in early pregnancy because of the loss of appetite associated with it.
The causes of morning sickness are generally hormones, and the physical and chemical changes in early pregnancy.
Well, your feeling sick may bring about a reason to celebrate in the family, but those who have experienced it would agree that this is a cause of major stress to the woman during the first trimester.
But can morning sickness be prevented? sadly. No! but one can reduce and relieve the symptoms a bit. This can be achieved by not staying empty stomach for long and having small, carbohydrate rich meals throughout the day, one may eat some dry crackers or biscuits before getting out of the bed, moving around regularly helps too. No medication should be taken to tackle morning sickness unless advised by the caregiver. Other things one can do is to wear clothes which provide some positive ease and do not put pressure on the abdomen. Staying away from the kitchen can also help.
For partners and family members - a woman in her early pregnancy is quite perturbed because of the changes in her body that she is not in control of, and morning sickness makes her miserable. As her partner or family, one should try to provide as much comfort as possible, by helping out with the cooking, by keeping the house calm and cheerful, and by getting to know what helps make the expecting mother feel better.
