I am male of 58 years old suffering with knee pain from 2 years due to thinning of cartilage. I have read an article on REGENEX based on injecting stem cells at the knee. I would like to know the success rate of the method.

Quadriceps strengthening exercises- Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

I am suffering from severe pain in the back side of the shoulder since two days. I have fallen down from then I am suffering from severe pain. I have taken ACELIFT PLUS tablets. What should I do now?

Please do ice fomentation also. For this crush ice cubes and fill in it in a poly bag apply to the injured part, remeber there should not be an open wound. And apply for atleast 15 minute, time matters, and do it for three to four times in a day.

How many days take for fit body during because tail bone pain? I have taking a chymera tab. Last 4 days.

Tail bone pain also known as coccydynia is due to trauma or repeated microtrauma. Esp in people with prolonged sitting jobs. Dear lybrate user. You should use doughnut pillow (tyre tube line for sitting) and sitz bath daily. Follow these measures for 1 month. If no relief, then consult a pain physician where you might be advised ganglion impar block take care.

My back aches a lot even though m going to gym regularly frm last 10 days. Back in the sense just upper part of hips on both sides they pain alot. And I hv pain in my right thigh. Any solutions I have consulted many docs but they are just like go on jogging evryday. and i am doing that but no result.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are actually quite young to have a prolonged back pain. Can you tell me what was the initiating factor for your pain? apart from pain, do you feel any other symptoms like weakness, numbness or paresthesias in legs as well? is there any localized swelling or any associated systemic symptoms like fever, night sweats, weight loss etc? if you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you, you can also add a muscle relaxant to relax muscle spasm - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. My father is diabetic patient he is able to control his diet or not consuming less food and now he is having knee joint pain. He is suffering a lot with joint pains and diabetic problems suggest how to get treatment for joint pains.

For pain take tablet paracetamol 650 mg and we have to rule out whether there is osteoarthritis of the joint and in a known case of diabetic we need to control sugar levels with medication, aerobic exercise and following a diabetic diet.

Hi, - Frozen shoulder is common affect to diabetic patients. - prolong spondylitis case may cause pinched nerve at neck region, that pain will radiate to shoulder, arms till finger tips of hand. My advice: -Full range of motion exercises at least twice/day (Neck & Shoulder) -Strong Neck isometric exercises at least Twice/day (Pain free) -Strengthening Exercise for Shoulder/Shoulder griddle muscles -PNF exercises -Scapular movements/ Shoulder griddle movements -Stretching exercises at least twice/day -Towel exercises -Free ROM exercises of Shoulder Precautions -Maintain good posture/avoid Bad posture -Avoid jerky movements -Avoid keeping you r neck straight and stiff -Use soft collar/cervical pillow -Do not sleep over affected side -If you are working long hours you must relax the muscles of you r neck and shoulders by taking frequent breaks. It can help to relieve Pain -Apply Ointment -After 10mins Ice therapy for 20-30 mins daily twice (Mor/Night) NOTE: Orthopedician/Orthopedic Physiotherapist Helps you lot… TAKE CARE….

Get x rays both hips ap and lateral views and x ray dorsal spine ap and lateral views asking with vitamin d levels, serum calcium, phosphorus, alkaline phosphatase and serum uric acid levels ( blood tests) fasting and revert back with reports. Also get her bone densitimetry 3 sites.

Hello lybrate user, - vit-d is less available in food hence it is always supplied in medications form when ever there is deficiency. - as you are having more pain better to adopt ayurveda treatment so that you can avoid further progress of the issue - do apply ksheerabala taila with eucalyptus oil to knee daily twice and give hot fomentation for 15 min - take yogaraja guggulu 2-0-2 for 15 days. - better to take panchakarma treatment like naanu basti and basti karma which will give you better solution. No, that's because of Nerve Compression from Back. May be your back muscles are weak. check this if you have any pain around hip and low back also or after long sitting u feel pain in legs.
