I am 19 year old, female. I have ovarian cyst. What to do? Please help me.

MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
Endocrinologist,
Treatment for PCOS is not curative. Treatment focuses on controlling symptoms and managing the condition to prevent complications. The treatment will vary from woman to woman, depending on specific symptoms. A healthy diet and regular exercise is recommended for all women with PCOS, particularly those who are overweight. This can help to regulate your menstrual cycle and lower your blood glucose levels. Women who don’t want to become pregnant may be prescribed birth control pills. These can help treat acne, regulate the menstrual cycle, and lower levels of male hormones, such as testosterone, in the body. If a woman with PCOS is suffering from infertility, fertility drugs may be administered to aid in ovulation. Anti-androgens are drugs that reduce male hormone levels. These can help stop excess hair growth and reduce acne. Diabetes medications may also be prescribed to lower blood glucose and testosterone levels. Surgery may be recommended for some women with PCOS. Ovarian drilling is a procedure in which your doctor punctures your ovary with a small needle that carries an electric current, in order to destroy part of the ovary. This is a short-term solution that can promote ovulation and reduce male hormone levels.

Uterine Fibroids - Types, Symptoms And Homeopathic Treatment!

BHMS
Homeopath,
Uterine Fibroids - Types, Symptoms And Homeopathic Treatment!

Uterine fibroids, also referred to as uterine myomas) are non-cancerous tumors that grow within the muscle tissue of the uterus. As many as 20% to 50% women between the age group of 18 to 40 suffer from the condition, but not all cases warrant treatment.

It may be as tiny as a coin or it may grow to the size of a watermelon, making people think the lady is 6/7 months pregnant! There may be one big fibroid or several small ones.

Causes:
Though the exact causes are not known, family history and hormonal imbalances are said to be the main causes for the same.

Types of Uterine Fibroids

The four types are:

  1. Subserosal uterine fibroids: Develops outside the uterus and continues to grow.
  2. Intramural uterine fibroids: The most common type that lead to pregnancy like tummy. They develop within the uterus wall and continue to expand.
  3. Submucosal uterine fibroids: Because these develop within the uterus lining, they are most likely to be the cause of heavy flow during periods.
  4. Pedunculated uterine fibroids: These grow on the inner or outer side of a small stalk connecting to the uterus.

Common Symptoms:

  1. An enlarged uterus is the most common symptom. It is often mistaken for general weight gain or pregnancy.
  2. Prolonged and painful menstrual cycle, that is many times irregular.
  3. Urinary incontinence and constant urge to urinate.
  4. Pelvic pressure.
  5. Pressure on the bowels leading to constipation.
  6. Pain during intercourse.

General treatment
If you find out that you have fibroids during an examination or if you consult a doctor with any of these symptoms, they will most likely ask for an ultrasound or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) which will confirm the type of fibroid and the extent of your problem. Treatment includes non-invasive-focused ultrasound surgery.

Treatment with Homeopathy:
One of the best advantages of choosing Homeopathy is that it works without side effects. It addresses the issue rather than the symptom. A surgical procedure mentioned in general treatment does remove the fibroids but there is no guarantee that they won't grow back as the underlying issue of hormonal imbalance remains.

During a clinical study of the effects of Homeopathy on fibroids, 85% patients showed improvement and 48% people had complete fibroid removal.

Treatment: There are medicines in Homeopathy that can treat uterine fibroids, cervical fibroids and help maintain normal hormonal balance in females.

We were having sex after a gap of long time (more than a year). During sex, blood came out from my wife's vagina. She did not have any pain. Please suggest the possible cause of such bleeding.

DGO, MD, MRCOG, CCST, Accredation in Colposcopy
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
It may be due to trauma. However occasionally it may be related to local pathology in the cervix like a polyp or abnormal cells. Hence it is important to go to the Gynaecologist so that appropriate examination can be done

Hi doctor, I have 1 problem called pcos. I want to know how it will impact on married life since I am planning to get married? also I want to know what all complications will be there. Is there are any other disease that are related to this problem like ovarian cancer or diabetes? Dr. Put me on 6 months medication (tablet name: dronis30. So after medication I will be totally cured or I have to take any other treatment. Please reply. Thanks.

MBBS, MD Obs & Gynae, FNB Reproductive Medicine
Gynaecologist, Jalandhar
Dronis 30 is not given to cure the disease. It can only regularize your cycles. You can marry but there could be problem with ovulation which can be easily treated with ovulation-induction drugs. After marriage when you plan for pregnancy you may need little help. Patient with pcos are having more chances of developing diabetes, hypertension and uterine carcinoma. The bottomline is that one should undergo lifestyle modifications in the form of diet and excersise to maintain weight and keep disease under control.

Im 25 years old. And I want to get pregnant again. How can I know im fertile? My last period was june 14.

BHMS

Im 25 years old. And I want to get pregnant again. How can I know im fertile? My last period was june 14.
Hi, in general, a woman's fertile window is the day of ovulation (usually 12 to 16 days before the menstrual period begins) and the five days preceding it. For the average woman that occurs somewhere between days 10 and 17 who have normal 28 days of menstrual cycle. Ovulation happens about two weeks before the next expected period. So if your average menstrual cycle is 28 days, you ovulate around day 14. Remember the'fertile window' is the six days leading up to and including ovulation. The three days leading up to and including ovulation are the most fertile. Try to have unprotected sex during this time to get pregnant again.

Nausea is very common in early pregnancy. She is best eating homemade food with a good balance of vegetables/ dal/ roti/rice/ fish /chicken and fruits. She should also try to drink lots of water; can have fruit juices and milk/ yoghurt. It varies based on her personal taste and choice.

You have to meet gynecologist as there are drugs which can be given by gynecologist or certified doctors only. If it is early pregnancy as you are suggesting you will be sent home immediately.
