5 Habits You Must Follow for Good Health

Healthy people follow certain daily habits to stay fit and in shape. If adopted by common people, they also stand a chance to gain good health by following these habits.

Here are a few habits for good health:

  1. Alter your diet: 70% of your health depends upon your diet and calorie intake daily. Add more protein and reduce the number of simple carbohydrates in your diet. Make sure the food you eat is fresh and wholesome to keep you satiated for a long period. Making small changes in your food intake such as cutting out fried and preserved foods entirely will help you lead a healthier life.

  2. Never skip breakfast: Several studies have shown that people who eat breakfast daily are healthier than people who skip breakfast entirely. Make breakfast your heaviest meal in the day and add protein in the form of eggs and grilled chicken if you can. Eating breakfast keeps you energised for the rest of the day and helps your body convert the nutrients into energy.

  3. Make exercise a part of your daily routine: Exercising daily will help you keep your body in shape and fit. If going to the gym isn’t your thing, you can opt to play a sport for an hour or go for brisk walk. Any kind of physical stimulation will help you build those muscles before you actually start shedding them. It is never too late to start working on your body, if you are determined to be regular.

  4. Get 6-8 hours of sleep: Most adults face sleep deprivation which leads to reduced energy and willingness to work during the day. Getting a good night’s sleep is necessary as it lets your body and brain rest and provides you with the required energy for the next morning. Also, while you are asleep, the fat hormone around your belly slowly dissolves resulting in weight loss.

  5. Practice good oral hygiene: Poor oral hygiene will lead to foul mouth odour and problems in your gums and teeth. However, you don’t need to worry about filling cavities if you follow the thumb rule of brushing twice daily. Your weight should be 50-57 kg. In order to gain weight you need to make certain diet & lifestyle changes. Diet: have small frequent meals rich in nutrient & calorie dense foods like malt, premix, thick milkshakes, fresh fruit juices, cheese, nuts, oilseeds, dry fruits (raisins, anjeer), whole egg, fish, chicken. Include simple carbs like potato, white rice, white bread, atta-maida roti in your diet. Lifestyle: practice resistance training in gum to increase your muscle mass & thus weight.

Dear lybrate user, -you should have a snack before exercising (about 1-2 hrs before exercise) like a boiled egg or an apple & a bowl of curds or nuts almonds, walnuts, peanut, cashews as it will provide you with the energy during exercise & also have something to eat about 15-20 min after exercise like a bowl of sprouts, salad or milkshake or paneer -donot skip breakfast, have 5-6 small meals rather than having 3 large meals as it will provide you with constant energy & you will not feel week -have water before, during & after exercise as mild dehydration also causes tiredness & lethargy -combine a carbohydrate food with a protein food in snacks as well as meals like have egg with whole wheat bread, yogurt with fruit, milk & cornflakes, oats & fruit, poha with groundnut -take adequate rest & sleep for 7-8 hrs at night, all these measures will surely reduce your tiredness.

For fair skin : • Applying a mixture of cucumber and papaya with one teaspoon of each and with three teaspoon of oatmeal apply it for 5 to 10 minutes then rinse off with water twice a week. • Apply one teaspoon Besan with one teaspoon of curd and a pinch of haldi (turmeric) mix it with water then apply for 15 minutes then rinse off it with water Once a week. . • Apply one teaspoon orange juice or take a piece of orange open it then apply that area for 5 minutes then rinse off it once a week.

1.Mix 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 1 tablespoon mustard oil, and 1 cup yogurt. Apply this to the hair 30 minutes to 1 hour before washing the head and hair. 2.Soak 50 gm methi dana in 2 cups of water overnight, next day in the morning make the paste and apply on scalp for 15 minutes. 3..Mix powdered Indian gooseberry (amla) and sesame seeds in equal amounts. Take 1 teaspoon twice a day with water. 4.Massage with bhrigraj oil thrice a week. 5.Wash hair regularly 2-3 times a week with a mild shampoo. 6.Avoid scratching the scalp with hands or any other objects. 7.Avoid spicy, greasy, hot and penetrating foods, junk food, and aerated drinks. 8.Have food with good nutritive value; include fiber-rich foods, salads, fruits, and lentils

Hii lybrate-user, psoriasis is genetic disorder triggered due to stressful conditions and irregular life style. Psoriasis has three stages. First stage is when disease remain on skin and there are scaly patches. Second stage comes when there is pitting on nails and in last stage it enter the joints and there is pain in small joints. Generally patient use steroidal application on patches which give temporary relief and disease reappear after 2/3 days. In severe cases methotrexate is used which is not a safer option and is liver toxic. Ayurveda has got a complete remedy for psoriasis. It is a safer option and can be used for longer duration without any side effects. Ayurvedic external application give very quick results with sun exposure in clearing the scales and internal treatment does not allow the disease to re appear. Psoriasis is a manageable disease and can be managed with ease and effectively using ayurveda. You should use 3 gms of haldi with milk helps in psoriasis patients.

Hi,Acne is the most common teenage problem.Acne is a result of a blockage in the follicles or the pores on the skin. You should have seen a Doctor around, they are available everywhere. For the time being she needs a medicine for high fever and medicine for antibiotic action. Plus rehydration solution if required. Try to get paracetamol, but be careful about dosage. you can use water soaked cloth to bring the fever down.

If the reddishness is still there, Don't rush to cure marks as of now. But if redness has healed completely, you may start using Kojic Acid cream at bedtime daily. Do not forget to apply sunscreen every morning.
