Thoroughly dry the area after taking bath and keep it dry and sweat free. Apply talcum powder in the area 4. Use loose cotton under wear instead of tight synthetic one 5. Hello doc, I want to know good medicine for my wife she give birth. But on her stomach lot of birth mark so how to clear that birth mark please tell some cream or medicine. Thanks.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, I think you want to mention about your wife's stretch marks and not birth marks, if i am not mistaken?! Right? You can massage gently any good brand oil containing more percentage of vitamin E like olive oil, coconut oil, egg oil, bio-oil twice and aloe vera daily, but after completion of 1&1/2 months of giving birth (if the delivery was normal) or after 4months (in case of caesarean section that too depends upon the condition of the stitches and the area). Make sure she's eating a nutrient based diet. Make sure that her skin is getting the proper nutrition so that it can repair and stay healthy. Drink enough water(2 litres daily), as the skin loses its elasticity when you are dehydrated. Being at a healthy weight also helps. Use Vaseline, or petroleum jelly to keep the skin moisturized. Can give her vitamin C & E orally.

Hi, I am 20 years old and I have a problem with hairfall I used anti- hairfall shampoos but hair is still falling so what can I do now?

MBBS, Diploma In Dermatology And Venerology And Leprosy (DDVL)
Dermatologist, Raigarh
Hair hair fall could b significant or just physiological without any systemic involvement. Firstly, don't stress over it. Meditate. Practice yoga. Relax yourself. Stress vil increase your hairfall. Drink two litres of water. Eat plenty of pulses, meat, fish and milk. Avoid hair cosmetics. Wash hair twice or thrice a week. Shampoo should be done to wash dirt, dust and grime and not for anything else. Don't use dyes, bleaches or straighteners. Massage scalp to improve circulation. After a bath, don't blow dry your hair instead naturally dry hair. If any scalp infection, get it treated. Any allergy should be taken care of. 1. Tab biotin daily for 1 month 2. Tab fe (if your fe level is reeduce) 3. Scalp massage with antioxidant oil 4. Regain lotion bd for long time.

Hi, I am 24 year old suffering with huge hair loss and pimples. Could you please suggest me supplements for hair growth.

General Physician, Delhi
Hair loss, or alopecia can be associated with a wide variety of conditions, from genetic to autoimmune to infectious to environmental. Common forms of hair loss include the following: •Androgenetic alopecia (male or female pattern baldness) •Alopecia areata •Scarring (cicatricial) alopecia •Telogen effluvium •Anagen effluvium •Congenital hypotrichosis •Infection-related hair loss (eg, tinea capitis and folliculitis) •Physical hair damage or defect (eg, trichotillomania, loose anagen syndrome, monilethrix, and overprocessing) Androgenetic alopecia is by far the most common form of hair loss, followed by telogen effluvium, alopecia areata, tinea capitis, scarring alopecia, and hair loss from over processing. Upto 100 hair fall per day is considered normal. Correct diagnosis would require a clinical evaluation and then appropriate treatment can be prescribed. Also assessment of thyroid function, a complete blood count (CBC), and measurement of serum ferritin is required. The treatment requires a clinical assessment and correlation with Lab reports.

Dear lybrate-user, start taking black til (seasam) with a glass of lukewarm milk early morning. Avoid pickles, spices, oily, greesy food items, too much of salt in food shud be avoided. Start avle ka murabba daily. Also have a high protien rich diet e. G. Pulses, dry fruits, black gram, ground nut etc, white of egg (if you eat egg). Also oil your hair with good herbal oil and wash with herbal shamppoo - avoid shampoos with high acid contents. As far as ayurveda's therapy is concerned - start with shirodhara with herbal oil and nasyam therapy for atleast 15 days. This will greatly help. Do gentle massage with herbal hair oil daily night for 15 minutes. Please update with your valuable feedback.

Alopecia Care - Handle this hair loss problem with ease.

MD, MBBS
Dermatologist, Delhi
Alopecia Care - Handle this hair loss problem with ease.
Tips to overcome Alopecia

Everyone experiences hair fall and a vast majority experiences severe hair loss. But some people may experience hair loss as a result of the immune system attacking hair follicles or the place where hair growth begins. While the damage is not permanent, it can be quite frustrating and lower your self-esteem. This condition is known as alopecia.

Try these 2 effective ways to counter Alopecia.

1. Minimize its effects: Treatments can help hair grow, but there are several ways through which you can minimize the effects of this medical condition. For instance, always use sunscreens for your scalp, face and exposed areas. This will ensure that bald patches don’t cause sunburn. Similarly, use wigs, caps and scarves to save your scalp from Sun and keep it warm in case it’s very cold. If alopecia has affected your eyes or hair inside the nostril, it is recommended that you wear eyeglasses to protect eyes from dust and debris, especially when eyelashes or eyebrows are missing or use ointments for protecting the nose.

2. Medications for hair growth: Depending on the hair loss patterns, you can opt for treatments that involve cortisone, topical minoxidil, immunotherapy and anthralin, which can help in increasing hair growth and suppress immunity reaction to prevent the effects of this medical condition.

Remember, the treatment depends on several factors, such as age, amount of hair loss and the ability to be regular with the treatments. Make sure that you consult with your doctor before beginning any treatment.

I have very oily skin and in summers my skin become rough also. What should I have to do for improvement of my skin?

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Mix one teaspoon of fresh lemon juice with one-half teaspoon of distilled water. Apply it on your skin using a cotton ball. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash your face with warm water. Lemon juice can dry out your skin, so apply some oil-free moisturizer afterward.

My hair falling badly and have dandruff lots so what to do any antibiotics for hair control or replant.

MD - Dermatology
Dermatologist, Pathanamthitta
Wash ur scalp with keloc zp shampoo thrice weekly. To decide whether u need transplant or not,i vil have to assess ur scalp for which I need pictures.Hair fall is mainly due to hormonal and genetic reasons. There are no homeremedies that vil help or quick responses for it. It can definitely be controlled. It's important to eat plenty of pulses, fish, meat and milk. Drink at least two litres water everyday. Exercise regularly. Don't stress out because you don't have long hair or because your hair's falling. Avoid all forms of chemicals, hot devices and blowdryers to prevent hair damage. Massage scalp and wash twice or thrice a week. Don't overshampoo, it'll spoil hair. Don't tie up wet hair and sleep, it'll get infected. If any infections, g et it treated. A thorough blood check up is needed to eliminate autoimmune, hormonal and nutritional diseases. Apart from this, treatment may b needed in resistant cases.

My hairs are very thin. Any suggestions in diet or anything which can improve my hairs health. I am taking enough amount of protein. Ny other suggestions?

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Wash your hair two to three times a week, max. ... Avoid hot showers and shampoo your scalp, not your ends. ... Towel-dry your hair before applying conditioner. ... Brush your hair twice a day, from the bottom up. ... Use a low-heat setting for hair drying and point the nozzle down, not side-on. ... Try castor oil, hair oil and dry shampoo. Massage your hair and scalp with warm olive oil and leave it on for at least 30 to 45 minutes. Rinse it out thoroughly and wash your hair without shampoo. ... Another option is to mix olive oil with some honey and apply the mixture on your hair. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes and then wash your hair.without shampoo
