Hi lybrate-user cleaning and whitening of teeth are two different things. Cleaning is known as scaling and it doesn't remove enamel layer where as whitening is done by bleaching which can cause sensitivity to hot and cold. Hope it clarifies your doubt

Go for through physical examination in a dental clinic to rule out the cause of pain. It may be due to cavity, abcess and gum disease. So you need to be investigated first to know about the exact cause of pain. For temporary relief you can take ketorol dt 2 tabs dissolved in half cup of water.

Hi what I understand you are having halitosis (bad breath). There are various reasons for bad breath. To name a few, plaque accumulation, diabetes, hormonal changes, gingivitis. You should immediately see a dentist to get evaluated clinically and probably get scaling (cleaning) done.

Do you think that a fallen tooth is always a waste? That's not true. Saving a fallen tooth can be useful.  Try to keep it in place while you seek immediate medical attention. If that is not the case, try wrapping the tooth in a piece of plastic or soaking it into milk and call for immediate dental service.

Hello, I had an accident in 2012 and fractured my jaw. Due to that I have to undergo an operation and have an aluminium plate in my jaw. From Nov 2015, I started with problem of acne/pimple breakouts. As I have a very healthy diet and I don't ever skip my Gym session and quiet rarely have outside junk food. So my question is, whether is there any relation between aluminium plate and acne breakouts? As its been 4 long years from 2012 to 2016 they are embedded in my jaw.

No sir please dont get confused with all these unwanted thoughts. There is no way a relationship between your acne problem and the aluminium plate. Mostly oily skin bearers will have acne problems in common

The type of treatment you have for toothache /sensitivity/swelling will depend on the cause of the pain, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling is caused by a loose or broken filling, the filling will be taken out, any decay will be removed and a new filling put in place. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling can't be treated using these methods, or if your tooth is impacted (wedged between another tooth and your jaw), it may need to be removed.

Basically, gums bleed if they are inflamed. The most common cause of inflamed gums is plaque and tartar. You need to get this removed by a professional scaling done by a dentist. In the meantime, use pepsodent g for brushing, and avoid harming the gums.

Hi, Please do mention your age next time when you have a querry the reason you had two long front teeth is coz of excess bone loss which causes your gums to go down.Giving the impression that teeth have become long. The acrylic teeth replacement is one of the choice to replace the teeth provided they are removable and not fixed .If they are fixed taking support from adjacent teeth that is a quackery. In my humble opinion. You better get it removed as soon as possible and think of other alternatives to replace the missing teeth like.Dental implants.Fixed partial dentures .Also need to get your gums healthy by visiting a periodontist before getting anything else done.Hope this helps.Cheers

Replace your missing tooth right away

Replace your missing tooth right away.

Missing teeth might look great in kids but not in adults.
If your tooth is missing it can lead to a whole lot of problems like cavities in the adjacent teeth, functional & esthetic impairement.
Also if a tooth is missing, the adjacent teeth start to drift in order to close the gap. Moreover the upper tooth starts drifting downwards if empty space is present & vice a versa. All this movement leads to sensitivity due to root exposure in the adjacent teeth or upper or lower teeth.
Hence it is very important to replace a tooth as soon as it is lost.
We can replace the tooth/teeth in 3 ways:
1. Removable Partial Denture
2. Bridge formation
3. Implant
