To solve the gas problem & increase your hunger, I suggest you these best tips- * take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily once. *take 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (kali mirch), 1/ 2 tea spoon of jeera (cumin), 2-3 slice of ginger. Boil it in one glass of water for 2-3 minutes. Drink 5-10 teaspoons (15-20 ml) in morning and evening. * if you still do not feel hunger and feel some heaviness in stomach then check out your liver function test and take 1 tea spoon of liv-52 syrup daily one time. * walk for atleast 15-20 minutes daily and avoid long duration continuos sitting. * avoid taking alcohol and smoking. * check out your thyroid profile and take proper treatment if results are positive. * regularly take a citrus fruit like orange or a glass of lemon juice atleast for 1 month.

Does acid reflux (gerd) cause burning rectum And fullness of stomach gas and anxiety.

BASM, MD, MS (Counseling & Psychotherapy), MSc - Psychology, Certificate in Clinical psychology of children and Young People, Certificate in Psychological First Aid, Certificate in Positive Psychology
Psychologist, Palakkad
Dear Lybrate user, Actually it is the opposite way. Anxiety created GERD and motion sickness. Anxiety disorders are a category of mental disorders characterized by feelings of anxiety and fear, where anxiety is a worry about future events and fear is a reaction to current events. These feelings may cause physical symptoms, such as a racing heart and shakiness. There are a number of anxiety disorders: including generalized anxiety disorder, a specific phobia, social anxiety disorder, separation anxiety disorder, agoraphobia, and panic disorder among others. While each has its own characteristics and symptoms, they all include symptoms of anxiety. Anxiety medicines alone cannot cure anxiety disorders mainly because medicines do not alter behavior. Behavior change and Continuous practice of the changed behavior cure anxiety. I suggest anxiety education, progressive counseling and progressive psychotherapy.

Dear lybrate user. I understand. Some fat in your liver is normal. But if it makes up more than 5%-10% of the organ's weight, you may have fatty liver disease. If you're a drinker, stop. That's one of the key causes of the condition. It's also more likely to happen to those who are middle-aged and overweight or obese. People like that often have high cholesterol and diabetes as well. Other causes are: Medications Viral hepatitis Autoimmune or inherited liver disease Fast weight loss Malnutrition Exercise and diet can reverse the condition. Talk to your doctor. Take care.

Ulcer In Urinary Bladder - How They Can Be Treated?

DNB (Nephrology), MD, MBBS
Nephrologist, Delhi
Ulcer In Urinary Bladder - How They Can Be Treated?

Hunner's ulcers, simply put are painful ulcers in your urinary bladder. These ulcers are inextricably linked to another disorder called the painful bladder syndrome or intestinal cystitis. They occur in 10 to 15 percent of people with interstitia cystitis. These, in fact, are red patches or lesions on the bladder wall which can stiffen tissue and cause reduced bladder capacity. Hunner’s ulcers bleed, ooze pus and can be of different sizes. The ulcers in the bladder can be extremely painful and uncomfortable.

These are called Hunner’s ulcers because they were first described by Dr. Guy LeRoy Hunner, a Johns Hopkins gynecologist, in 1915. Since Hunner’s ulcers are seen only in people with intestinal cystitis, it’s important to know more about this painful life-altering bladder disorder before we can even understand how to deal with them.

Interstitial cystitis (IC)
IC is also called painful bladder syndrome. Another important thing to know about IC is that it strikes more women than men. IC is a chronic disorder and there’s no cure for it. It causes recurring bouts of pain and pressure in the urinary bladder and the pelvic area. This is often accompanied by an urgent and frequent need to urinate. Sufferers may have to rush to the ‘loo’ as much as 40, 50, or 60 times a day.

Diagnosis
Hunner's ulcers can only be accurately diagnosed by doing a cytoscopy which involves inserting a fibre-optic tube through the urethra to look at the bladder wall closely. During this procedure, a tissue sample from the bladder wall is usually also taken to rule out bladder cancer. Cytoscopy is usually done with hydrodistention under local anesthesia. This involves filling the bladder with a liquid for stretching it to provide a closer view of the bladder wall. Usually, a urologist performs this surgery along with a gynaecologist. IC and also Hunner’s ulcers are both a diagnosis of exclusion. This means that they’re diagnosed only after a number of other conditions have been ruled out.

Hence, the urologist will first take your thorough medical history, followed by a physical exam and a pelvic exam for women patients and perform tests for ruling out infection, and other disorders like bladder stones and cancer, kidney disease, multiple sclerosis, endometriosis, sexually transmitted diseases amongst others. Only after these tests are inconclusive or uncertain and if there is blood in urine, will the urologist go for cystoscopy.

Treatment
There's no cure for IC, but Hunner’s ulcers can be cured by burning them off the bladder wall. Called fulguration, the process uses electricity or laser to burn the ulcers on the bladder wall. Resection is also used in which skin from around the Hunner’s ulcer is cut for removing both the ulcer and the inflamed tissue around it. The problem is that ulcers may recur in the same location.
So, managing IC becomes critical. Your doctor can try to treat the patient with one treatment or with a combination of treatment depending on the condition of the patient.

Pain medicines are the first line of treatment to manage Hunner’s ulcers and IC both, and many patients do go in for this. Patients also find relief by modifying their diet to remove foods and drinks like caffeinated beverages- tea, coffee, colas etc. Sodas, artificial sugars and fruit juices, especially Cranberry juice can trigger intense pain and discomfort, so these are usually contraindicated. Another important aspect is patient education about normal bladder function and tips on self-care and behavioural modifications like stress control to manage Hunner’s ulcers.

I am 25. I had been suffering from Irritating Bowel Syndrome since 3 years. It causes lot of trouble for the past 12 months. I wake up 8 am drink 3 glass of water then go to potty. It takes 40 minutes in the toilet. This time it is a mixture of stool: a small amount of hard stool with liquid / or shapeless soft stool with liquid. But a large amount of stool comes out in spite of eating few things. Then at 9 am take my breakfast 1 cup of tea and 3 roti. Then immediately in 2 minutes I again go to potty and jelly stool comes out in maximum cases. I am having a different kind of stool (thin, hard, or soft and liquid). I am having harder or looser stools than normal. I am suffering for a long time. Does it infect my bowel? Or Inflammation of the bowel movement? I am afraid of diarrhea. Does it lead to that? I do not know what happened. But I had a severe abdomen pain for the past 3 months. My whole stomach is paining. I can not move, can not work, can not bend at all. I can not sleep properly because of pain in the intestines. I have other issues like too much masturbation (thrice a day), night fall (3 days a week), early ejaculation, pain in the anus while ejaculating, late urine etc. I had been suffering frequent urination 15 times a day since 10 years. What should I do right now? 2 days ago I consult a Urologist. My blood test, urine test, ultrasound of the abdomen, x ray reports are ok. After seeing my reports the doctor refused to accept that I had any pain in my stomach. So he told not to worry. Prescribed medicines :- COLOSPA retard (200 mg) and FLOSLO 5. But I am still worried about my pain. Yesterday I was walking and it pained a lot. I am having stool problem for a long time and I have not done any stool test. Do I have any bacteria in my stool?
