Dark circles are because of lack of nutrients. Sleep and weakness. So take proper nutrients and drink plenty of juices and sleep for atleast 7 hours a day. Drink 7-8 glasses of water every day.

After puncturing the skin with their mouthparts and feeding on blood, mosquitoes leave hard, itchy bumps which is normal with everyone. But if the bumps are painful in that case, they could be transmission of viral or parasitic diseases. So if your bumps are normal and subside in 24 hours, then there is nothing to worry about. Something that stays hard, red and itchy for 3-4 days should be brought to the notice of the doctor.

I have got dark circles under my eyes. Also area around my eyes is black in color. Please help.

I have got dark circles under my eyes.
Also area around my eyes is black in color.
Please help.
Hi. Dark circles can be temporary (means happens after any recent or chronic diseases or underlying medical condition, insufficient sleep, nutritional deificiency, working long hrs. on computer, lack of rest, stress/ tension, etc.) which can be improved by fixing the underlying cause or the problem or can be inherited from your parent's genes which can't be treated or cured! Management: Eat healthy and on time. Avoid junk. Drink plenty of water (as dehydration can cause dull or patchy skin). Sleep well. Wear anti-glare spectacles while working on computer. Reduce your stress/ tension through yoga, meditation or any other excercises (it not only improves your blood circulation, but also reduces the production of stress hormones by the body as well as increases happy hormones in the body). Use sunglasses regularly and not to forget to apply a thick layer of Bakson's Suncare Sunscreen liberally, 20-30 minutes before stepping out in the sun and apply the same again after 3-4 hours if you have exposure to sunlight for long hours. Take homoeopathic medicines - Cina 1M/ one dose daily at night for 10 days Apply Medicynth's Whitch Hazel cream and Bakson's Under Eye cream twice - in morning and at night daily.

Dear it is a kind of fungal infections they are little difficult to remove because they remain in the skin where blood supply is very little. So it will take time to remove. If you want to cure you have to follow few medicines for 1-2 weeks. You have to consult me privately, please upload effected lesion photo.

Hello With all its moisturizing action, aloe vera is one of the most effective skin soothing agents. When you rub the gel over an itchy spot, it helps reduce the skin irritation in that area and provides quick relief from itching. Just break a leaf from the plant, cut it lengthwise using a knife and using a spoon, scoop out the jelly-like substance inside. Apply a little of this gel to the itchy area and leave it on for a few minutes.

Hello everyone I just wanted to know that how to remove darkheads please let me know the precautions, care etc.
Black heads are the dark plugs usually black or brown of dried sebum (fatty secretion) of the sebaceous gland, which blocks the pores of the skin. When the skin pores are blocked and reaches the skin surface and are touched by air blackheads are formed. Precautions to be taken are- drink plenty of water. Consume food products rich in antioxidants, like green tea, fruits. Wash the face at least 2-3 times in a day with a good face wash. Don't let the dirt and impurities clog the skin pores. Use of an good scrub will decrease the blackheads. Scrub at least once in 15 days or once in a week.

Melasma - Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

MBBS, P. G. Diploma in Dermatology Venerology & Leprosy (D. D. V. L )
Dermatologist, Moga
Melasma - Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

Melasma is a skin condition which causes discoloration and dark patches on your skin. It is more common in women than men. It is also called the ‘mask of pregnancy’ or chloasma when it is caused due to hormonal changes during pregnancy. These patches on the face are darker and symmetrical on both sides of your face. Areas of the body that are exposed to the sun for a prolonged period of time can also develop melasma. It doesn’t cause any physical complications, but it can give you an unsightly appearance.

What causes Melasma?

Doctors and researchers are still not sure what causes melasma although studies have shown that progesterone and estrogen levels tend to affect your skin leading to melasma. Some of the causes of melasma could be-

  1. Pregnancy
  2. Starting or stopping birth control pills
  3. Hormonal changes caused by underlying physical causes.
  4. Thyroid diseases
  5. Stress
  6. Prolonged exposure to the ultraviolet rays of the sun can also affect skin pigments (melanocytes) resulting in melasma

Symptoms of Melasma:

Brownish patches on the forehead, cheeks, chin and bridge of the nose are signs of melasma.

Treatment for Melasma:

In pregnancy, melasma usually fades on its own after you have delivered your baby.

  1. Avoid consuming birth control pills or change the medication for a change in composition of the drugs. More often than not, it’s the composition of a pill that causes melasma rather than birth control pills in general.
  2. Hydroquinone is an ointment which can be applied on the skin. This lightens the dark patches on your skin caused due to melasma.
  3. Corticosteroids and tretinoin – This medication is generally prescribed by a dermatologist to lighten the patches caused by melasma. This should be taken under a doctor’s prescription.
  4. Topical skin medicines – Medications which contain kojic acid or azelaic acid can also help reduce the brownish patches on your skin.
  5. Procedures – If medicines and creams don’t get rid of the patches, procedures such as dermabrasion, microdermabrasion and chemical peel procedures are advised. These procedures should be done under a certified dermatologist. This also prevents melasma from re-occurring in the future.
