Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

I have a back pain and also have weakness since 2 months so what should I do for relief so that I will be all right.
This back pain is due to no back exercise. Due to this muscle get stiff. When suddenly you get move fast that time this stiff muscle get break and pain start. In ayurved there is mentioned one procedure kati basti. Do this for five days with medicated oil if you want to do it you should do it under doctor observation. So consult ayurvedic doctor near you. You will definitely get good result.

I think you r right regarding your diagnosis. Lets do a X-ray first to see whether associated with sacroilitis or not.(X-ray both pelvis including sacroiliac joint AP VIEW). In the meantime you can use tab. Chymoral forte with tab. Rantac (150) two times a day for 3 days at least. If you allow we can talk personally for further management protocol after X-ray. Avoid sitting on hard surface and avoid blunt trauma.

I am a 42 year male suffering from hypothyroidism since 2 years. Now I am taking 150 microgram thyroxin. At times I feel joint pain, speech trouble and back pain. Is there a cure for it or not. What would be the diet, precaution and measures to be taken.

Hypothyroidism can lead to a wide spectrum of issues like myalgia, fatigue, weight gain etc. For your joint pain, initially you can start with anti inflammatory medications, start with intensive physical therapy, take adequate calcium and vitamin d supplementation and let me know in 2-3 weeks time how you are feeling. Hello lybrate-user kindly get evaluated by a general surgeon at the earliest don't be embarrassed it's for the best to be evaluated it's already late by a month generally things are curable but a physical examination is necessary for a better structured treatment.

Rest. Take a break from your normal activities. Ice. Place an ice pack or bag of frozen peas on the sore area for 15 to 20 minutes three times a day. Compression. Use a compression bandage to reduce swelling. Elevation. Elevate your foot to help reduce swelling.

Hi I am Dr Akshay from Fortis Hospital, New Delhi. Pain in lower back region can be due to multiple causes , in your case it can be due to just muscle strain. I will advise to avoid weightlifting for some time and give muscles adequate time to heal. You can use conservative medications and a local analgesic spray for time being.
