Dear lybrate user with the limited amount of information available we can clearly understand your concern about prostate issues. The symptoms as you have explained looks in favour of urinary infection. It will be advisable if you can get a urine routine examination and culture sensitivity done so that antibiotics can be given as per sensitivity profile. Kindly meet a urologist in person so that he can examine and assess you in person and advise accordingly. Hope this solves your query. Anything more then please feel free to revert.

My mother age 48 is diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. She is resistance to take chemo or radiations. We want to any how save her. Is Ayurvedic medicine effective? Any particular genuine Ayurvedic centre in Gujarat? Also I have heard about ozone therapy is it effective?

Oncologist, Delhi
Unfortunately stage 4 cancer can not be treated. Pain is the most common problem in stage 3 or 4. please remember Pain definitely can be controlled / treated at any stage of cancer. Pain relief needs dedicated pain management treatment usually offered by Pain specialist doctors. ACCN is proud to have one of the best pain specialist doctors of India. Pain management and cancer treatment goes side by side. Demand a pain free cancer treatment. You can further discuss it in detail with me on phone or over internet. If you are able to provide your mother a good pain relief, it will be a big win over cancer.

I am 23 years old. I have 3-4 lumps in my breast. Can this indicate any serious problem? I am taking anti epilepsy medicines as I am suffering from epilepsy. Please help.

MD - General Medicine, D.M. Medical oncology
Oncologist, Delhi
Dear lybrate-user I will answer both your concerns one by one. 1. Breast lump As per your history, you have breast lumps which most likely are not painful. Apart from presence of breast lumps, one needs to know that Is there any family history [ i.e history of breast cancer in mother, sister, maternal aunt, cousin ]?size of the breast lumps ,any increase in the size of the lumps, any swelling in the axilla. I would advice a detailed examination by an oncologist/ surgeon to assess the need for further evaluation as many a times on self examination, we mistake normal breast glandular tissue to be lump. However,at this point of time with the limited history I have, I must say that considering your age, there is very high likelihood that it may be a benign [ non cancerous] pathology with a high likelihood of fibroadenoma. SO DON'T WORRY. 2. Epilepsy: For epilepsy, you need to consult your neurologist whether you need a change in medicine or need continuation of the same [ as lot of new medicines with lesser side effects have come recently ]. Epilepsy or its treatment are unlikely to be related to your breast lumps [ if there are any]. Hope I have answered your question.

Lung cancer is very fatal and has less chances of getting cured. However, ayurveda offers effective and natural remedies for treating lung cancer. They are mentioned as follows:

  3. Practice meditation. According to ayurveda, meditation is known to have great healing powers for any health problem. This can help you to cope up with cancer as well.
  4. Avoid junk foods and carbonated drinks: Consuming these foods frequently can worsen your condition.
  5. Massage therapy: Sometimes massage therapy can work wonders in ayurveda. Massaging certain essential oils can be very helpful.
  6. Aromatherapy: Aromatherapy can also prove to be effective in treating lung cancer. It is a procedure in which essential oils are not only used for massaging your body but also for inhaling.

How To Detect Fallopian Tube Cancer?

MD - Oncology
Oncologist, Hubli-Dharwad
How To Detect Fallopian Tube Cancer?

The fallopian tubes are a couple of thin tubes that act as a vehicle in transporting a woman’s eggs (ova) from her ovaries (where they are housed) to her uterus (otherwise known as the ‘womb’) where they are either fertilized by the male sperm or disposed off during menstruation. Fallopian tube cancer, otherwise known as tubal cancer, forms in the fallopian tubes that connect the ovaries and the uterus.

It is hard to see a tumour or growth developing within a tube. This makes fallopian tube cancer hard to diagnose and complicated to manage as well.

If you do have fallopian tube cancer, it is vital to get a quick diagnosis as promptly as possible. This will help you to get effective treatment. However, diagnosing fallopian tube cancer can be challenging because of the following:

  1. It is an uncommon kind of cancer.

  2. The indications are vague and like those of different other conditions.

  3. Discovering a tumour inside the Fallopian tube is troublesome.

In case you have symptoms that may point at fallopian tube cancer, your specialist will conduct a thorough physical examination and get some information about your lifestyle and your family history. A pelvic examination will be done to examine your uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes and vagina. If a tumour is found, your specialist will do some more tests.

At least one of the accompanying tests might be utilised to see whether you have fallopian tube cancer and if it has spread. These tests additionally might be used to see whether the treatment is working. These diagnostic tests may include the following:

  1. Ultrasound of the Pelvis: This test is helpful. However, in case that your specialist still suspects fallopian tube cancer, he or she will arrange a transvaginal ultrasound. During this test, a probe will be put into the vagina to deliver a photo of the inner organs. A transvaginal ultrasound is the best method for imaging the fallopian tubes.

  2. CT or CAT (computed axial tomography) scan

  3. MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan

  4. Biopsy: A sample of cells is removed from the fallopian tube and examined closely, under a microscope. This is the best way to know for sure whether you have fallopian tube cancer. This will require surgery to extract the sample cells.

  5. CA125 test: This blood test checks the levels of CA125, a known tumour marker for gynecologic cancers. An abnormal state of CA125 may mean you need to have more tests. However, it does not necessarily mean you have fallopian tube cancer. Serum levels of a marker called CA-125 can be unusually high in patients with gynecologic infections in cancer and non-cancer sorts, that is, pelvic inflammatory infection, endometriosis and early pregnancy. CA-125 can be non-specific and might be elevated because of numerous issues that are not cancer related.

If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a gynaecologist.
