Hi, i'm 29 yrs of age working in bank, I do have history of fatty liver & I was treated with them 3-4 months ago. I used to feel pain in abdomen but right now there is no pain. I restricted the beer intake to 1-2times a month. I stopped having mutton, cheese & other fatty products. I use sunflower oil for cooking. Yet in casual check up, it was found" liver mildly enlarged in size & shows fatty inflitration. Is beer 1-2 times a month too much for my body or there is other reason for it? should I be worry?

I must say you've done a splendid job at controlling your dietary habits and addiction. Now see. Your liver was not enlarged within 1 or 2 days. It took a long course for development of fatty liver. So it would take quite a long time to revert back to normal. Do not worry so much and keep up the good work in controlling these habits. Meanwhile, you need to have some liver protective medications for a few more days. Feel free to consult me so that I can have a detailed discussion of your problem and help you with some suggestions.

My maternal grand mother uses the house as a open toilet! What do I do? She pees and poops everywhere and if ask, she gets angry. She always remains irritated. Most of the time she did usual things. Please suggest me what do I do. What can be the possible reason behind her such behaviour. I heard somewhere that these can be the symptoms of Alzheimer. Please suggest me.

Dear lybrate user, fatty liver generally occurs when there is accumulation of fats in liver [ more then 10% of liver weight] which may cause inflammation and prevents the liver from functioning properly. excessive alcohol consumption is main cause of fatty liver, other causes includes obesity, high blood cholesterol, medicinal side effects, familial predisposition, debates etc. fatty liver can be reversible by adapting healthy lifestyle. hence, strictly avoid alcohol. avoid junk food like noodles, fried food etc. drink plenty of water,8-9 glass per day. drink sugar free juices, it is beneficial for healthy liver function. have healthy diet. add more fiber rich food in diet like spinach, beans, carrots, oats, cereals etc..; add more fruits in meal, do regular exercise, get more active, like taking the stairs instead of elevator etc; take homeopathy treatment for fatty liver, it is safe, natural and holistic way of treatment. natural homeopathic medicine like chelidonium, lyco etc are highly effective in liver disorders like fatty liver. in chronic cases, medicine is selected on the basis of thorough details of patients like medical history, causes, routine, temperament etc..; such well selected remedy gives complete relief and cure without side-effects. Message back for proper consultation.
