Hello doctor my mom is having high blood sugar for last few years and high bp also. We have been to several doctors and also checking her diet. She takes a dose of insulin overnight b4 meal. And takes rice only once in a day. Yet her sugar level is more than 280 (pp) most of the time. What should we do further and if you can suggest any diet for her. Would be thankful.

What to eat for lowering the blood pressure or control it without using medicines.
Lifestyle changes can help you control and prevent high blood pressure, even if you're taking blood pressure medication. Here's what you can do: Eat healthy foods. Eat a healthy diet. Try the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet, which emphasizes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, poultry, fish and low-fat dairy foods. Get plenty of potassium, which can help prevent and control high blood pressure. Eat less saturated fat and trans fat. Decrease the salt in your diet. A lower sodium level — 1,500 milligrams (mg) a day — is appropriate for people 51 years of age or older, and individuals of any age who are black or who have hypertension, diabetes or chronic kidney disease. Otherwise healthy people can aim for 2,300 mg a day or less. While you can reduce the amount of salt you eat by putting down the saltshaker, you generally should also pay attention to the amount of salt that's in the processed foods you eat, such as canned soups or frozen dinners. Maintain a healthy weight. Keeping a healthy weight, or losing weight if you're overweight or obese, can help you control your high blood pressure and lower your risk of related health problems. If you're overweight, losing even 5 pounds (2.3 kilograms) can lower your blood pressure. Increase physical activity. Regular physical activity can help lower your blood pressure, manage stress, reduce your risk of several health problems and keep your weight under control. For most healthy adults, the Department of Health and Human Services recommends that you get at least 150 minutes a week of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes a week of vigorous aerobic activity, or a combination or moderate and vigorous activity. Aim to do muscle-strengthening exercises at least two days a week. Limit alcohol. Even if you're healthy, alcohol can raise your blood pressure. If you choose to drink alcohol, do so in moderation. For healthy adults, that means up to one drink a day for women of all ages and men older than age 65, and up to two drinks a day for men age 65 and younger. One drink equals 12 ounces of beer, 5 ounces of wine or 1.5 ounces of 80-proof liquor. Don't smoke. Tobacco injures blood vessel walls and speeds up the process of hardening of the arteries. If you smoke, ask your doctor to help you quit. Manage stress. Reduce stress as much as possible. Practice healthy coping techniques, such as muscle relaxation, deep breathing or meditation. Getting regular physical activity and plenty of sleep can help, too. Monitor your blood pressure at home. Home blood pressure monitoring can help you keep closer tabs on your blood pressure, show if medication is working, and even alert you and your doctor to potential complications. Home blood pressure monitoring isn't a substitute for visits to your doctor, and home blood pressure monitors may have some limitations. Even if you get normal readings, don't stop or change your medications or alter your diet without talking to your doctor first. If your blood pressure is under control, you may be able to make fewer visits to your doctor if you monitor your blood pressure at home. Practice relaxation or slow, deep breathing. Practice taking deep, slow breaths to help relax. There are some devices available that promote slow, deep breathing. However, it's questionable whether these devices have a significant effect on lowering your blood pressure.

Hi you should first start by controlling your diet. Increase fibres in your first and reduce on oil, ghee and butter. You also should do walks for about half an hour everyday. Regarding medicine, you can take homeopathy to reduce cholesterol levels. Take cholesterinum 3x, of schwabe india, 1 tablet 3 times a day. Follow this for 3 months, and then redo the test.

To increase your Heamoglobin value apart from medication eat green vegetables, jaggery, carrots , beet etc and have adequate fluid intake and take physical rest

Hello, You need to lose weight as you seem to be overweight. Ensure that you exercise daily for an hour. Eat lots of fiber rich fruits and vegetables with whole grains,pulses,legumes in the diet. Drinking lots of water will help your lipid profile and also keep your kidneys healthy.

Gynecomastia can be due to many reasons - drug intake, endocrinal( hormonal) problems , metabolic causes or pubertal gynecomastia . Here there is enlargement of breast due to fatty or glandular component of breast. Get serum testosterone, prolactin and thyroid profile done. Surgical correction of gynecomastia can be done by liposuction and sos gland incision . It's a safe and near scarless procedure . Consult a plastic surgeon for that.

Hi sir. Am 28 years old male. One or another problem I been facing since 5 years. I has chest pain and operated for ASD in 2014 and operated for sinus problem on 2015. In between this faced problem in working more and standing for even 20 to 30 minutes.. Dr. suggested for cod liver tablets I took those. And problem had reduced temporarily. I was unable to stand for more time, unable to work more due to tiredness. I masturbate 3 or 4 times in a week and Since 5 years I have been suffering from seasonal allergy for which I recently started homeopathy medicine. But recently since one month I have been suffering from erectile dysfunction. before that I was good enough on bed. I worried lot as my marriage is near. Hi, this is a normal situation that you need not worry about. You cannot expect your body to remain as young as it was during adolescence. This has mostly happened due to anxiety surrounding the performance and marriage. Keep your mind clear and focused, and drink 1 glass of milk daily to prevent this problem and you will surely do well. Take care.

Low bp is always a healthy sign. Your compliant is nothig to do your low bp take some good nutritiou diet, and some multivitamines, calcium etc iamm sure you should be alright.

parkinsonism mainly manifest as slowness due to increased muscle tone..patient has slowness in walking slowness in eating..he or she has generalised bodyaches, heaviness in body. facial expressions decreases so much dat face appears as mask....most important feature is tremulousness of the limbs tremors will first appear in one limb then progress to involve other limbs...slowly slowly body become rigid and patient has difficulty in walking..and later on patient can become bed bound...

I have been suffering from high blood pressure from november, 2015 to till date. My doctor advised me to do some tests regarding lipid profile, blood test, thyroid tech. But everything was normal. Then he prescribed me to have Stamlo 2.5 Daily Once. But till date my BP after having it is 140/90. I've also gained 5 kgs of weight within 4 months. Please give me some advises.

Good to know that ecg report is normal, and you get relief with basic medicines for acidity. There's something wrong with your food and eating habits, take less oily and spices and more of seasonal vegetables and fruits plus eating according to constitution. Take more proteins like milk and curds. All of these items are available in your market. Eat regularly, milk and bananas or with curds is natural anti acidity food which is nourishing food also. Do take medicines if required. Eat regularly, do exercise to digest the food and drink lots of water preferably with honey at least once a day. Do get back with progress report.

Dear lybrateuser, -Your problem could be due to bony or soft tissue problem -do not strain, bend, lift weight or do any exercise till pain reduces -apply pain relief gel lightly on the area three times a day -take a pain relief tablet after meals 2-3 times a day -if not much relief then x-ray chest has to be done & consult a doctor.

Dear sir, I am 48 yrs (male). I have multiple problems. I am diabetic. Recent measurement is ff: 160 & pp: 186. Have cholesterol of 247. Taking gluconom g2 morning & evening before meals/dinner. But the main issue I am going discuss is my shoulder pain. Having pain at neck and left shoulder which results my left arm. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Hi, Poor intake of food, lack of sleep, physical exertion, anaemia, severe vomitting and loose motions are all causes of low BP. Follow these tips to increase your blood pressure: 1. Increase intake of salt by adding salt to curds rice and taking pickles along with curds rice. 2. Drink plenty of fluids like Nimbu pani, tender coconut, water, buttermilk, fresh fruit juices,etc. 3.Drink hot coffee or tea when you feel dizzy. 4. Take sound sleep for 7-8 hours at night. 5. Avoid standing for too long hours. 6.Do yoga and meditation which helps to relieve mental stress and control emotions. 7. Avoid anxiety, stress and depression. 8. Perform regular exercises. 9. Consume lots of fresh green leafy vegatables, fruits, sprouts, high protein diet, etc. 10. Check your Hb% and BP with your family doctor and take their advise for further management.
