Tell me the way to keep them clean.
Hello, 1. Dry your feet thoroughly and then apply coconut oil generously on your feet. 2. Before going to sleep, soak your feet in warm water and scrub with a loofah. 3. Put on a pair of clean, cotton socks for the night. 4. The next morning, remove the socks and wash your feet. 5. Do this daily for several days until you are satisfied with the results. You can also use olive oil in the same way.

I have dark circles below eyes. What should I do?

Advanced Aesthetics
Ayurveda,
I have dark circles below eyes. What should I do?
Some of the main causes behind the formation of dark circles are heredity, aging, dry skin, prolonged crying, working for long hours in front of a computer, mental or physical stress, lack of sleep and an unhealthy diet. Both men and women of different age groups can have dark circles. The caffeine and antioxidants present in tea can be highly beneficial for getting rid of dark circles as well as puffiness under eyes by shrinking the blood vessels and reducing fluid retention. The tannins, in particular, help decrease swelling and discoloration. 1. Chill two used green or black tea bags in the refrigerator for about half an hour. 2. Place one tea bag over each eye and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. 3. Remove the tea bags and wash your face. 4. Repeat once or twice daily for a few weeks for medicenes consult me. Any querries inform me. Tomato, yogurt and lemon juice face pack: this pack works wonders in removing dark spots and pigmentation from sun tanned skin. The citric property of tomato, yogurt and lemon juice works as natural bleach. In addition, tomato juice works as a natural toner to shrink open pores and reduce oiliness of skin. In order to prepare this pack mix 2 table spoon of tomato pulp, 1 table spoon of lemon juice and 1 table spoon of yogurt in a bowl and apply on face. Let it dry for 30 minutes. Wash with cold water. The tomato juice may cause a sensation of itchiness in the beginning, but it will mellow down with regular application. You can achieve this aromatic face mask by mixing the following ingredients one small tbsp. Of sandal wood paste 2 drops of rose oil 1 drop of lavender oil 2tbsp of besan a pinch of turmeric powder mix it all with some malai or buttermilk ensure you leave the paste for at least 10-15 minutes and when used at least once a week, it relieves stress, thus giving your skin youthful glow.

Colic Pain - How To Treat It

Fellowship in Andrology, DNB-Urology , MS - General Surgery, MBBS
Urologist, Hyderabad
Colic Pain - How To Treat It

The word colic directly refers to the colon. Colic pain is a sharp abdominal pain followed by bouts of crying usually occurring in infants below the age of one year. The pain only last for a short period of time ranging from a few weeks to a couple of months. Very few number of babies will cry endlessly indicating towards an underlying condition.

It is mainly characterized by sharp crying for supposedly no apparent reason, irregular sleep patterns, and restlessness or owing to deviation from normal postures. The apparent causes of colic pain include indigestion and negative reaction of the sensitive gut to the breast or formula milk, although no concrete cause of the state has been discovered.

Doctors often suggest home remedies such as swaddling, pacifiers, holding and comforting the baby and more frequent feedings to reduce the condition. Since it is so common among infants and relatively less harmful, no proper medication is usually given. Physicians suggest mothers to reduce the content of caffeine, alcohol or spice in their diet. Sometimes a warm bath, burping the baby or going on more frequent walks is useful. Background music draws the attention of the baby and hence drives their focus, away from the abdominal pains.

Colic pains are mainly treated by care rather than medicine. The baby is made to feel comfortable and the distress is reduced just by being around the infant. The primary care giver plays an important role in consoling the child and helping them get through the sudden pain which further plays a significant role in personality development. Colic pains are extremely short lived and probably one of the first few challenges of parenthood. They are primarily dealt with care and feeding except in extreme cases where medicinal cures such as lactase drops and simethicone drops are used to treat the abdominal pain. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

I have dark elbows knees feet and underarms what should I do ?

BHMS
Homeopath,
I have dark elbows knees feet and underarms what should I do ?
Hello, acanthosis nigricans is a skin condition characterized by areas of dark, velvety discoloration in body folds and creases. The affected skin can become thickened. Most often, acanthosis nigricans affects your armpits, groin and neck. The skin changes of acanthosis nigricans typically occur in people who are obese or have diabetes. Children who develop the condition are at higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes. No specific treatment is available for acanthosis nigricans. Treatment of underlying conditions may restore some of the normal color and texture to affected areas of skin. Management: keep the mositurized always (use schwabe's aloe vera cream). Drink lots of water and liquid. Apply a thick layer of bakson's suncare sunscreen 20-30minutes before sstepping out in sun. Also apply medisynth's witch hazel cream on the areas to make them little lighter.

Getting Rid Of Wrinkles

MBBS, MS - General Surgery, M.Ch - Plastic Surgery

Getting Rid Of Wrinkles

Wrinkles are a normal yet unsightly sign of aging, which can come about due to various reasons including too much exposure to the sun, poor diet, excessive smoking and drinking, lack of proper sleep, advent of age, loss of moisture and elasticity as well as collagen, which creates a smooth and supple look and other such reasons. Cosmetic and plastic surgeons are now turning to a variety of methods to lessen the pronounced look of wrinkles and remove them for younger looking skin.

Here are a few methods currently in use:

  • Fillers: Fillers like collagen and others including poly lactic acid, Calcium Hydroxylapatite and Hyaluronic acid can be used to restore the elasticity of the skin even as they provide precious hydration. These injectables can be used on the face as well as on hands for a smooth and supple look.
  • Botox: To get rid of the lines on the forehead and to prevent the onset of more pronounced wrinkles, Botox or Botulinum Toxin Type A is a favoured element used by many cosmetic surgeons and dermatologists. This is usually administered via injection.
  • Retinoids: This is administered with a surgical procedure in order to remove uneven pigmentation as well as the roughness of skin, which sets in with age and excessive smoking and sun exposure. It may cause skin peeling and redness.
  • Laser: The use of laser resurfacing can also help in stimulating collagen production of the skin, which restores some of its elasticity so that wrinkles may be removed and further wrinkles prevented.
  • Surgery: The use of surgical methods like face lifts, brow lifts and other cosmetic processes can help in giving the skin a tighter look, which does away with the appearance of wrinkles. These are usually minor procedures from which one will heal fast.
  • Dermabrasion: This method is a surgical one that basically sands the surface of the skin in order to remove the wrinkles. It can cause side effects like permanent discolouration of the skin as well as scarring of sensitive skin in particular.
  • Peels: Glycolic acid peels and deeper peels that use elements like Salicylic acid can be used to go deep into the skin and making it smooth again. It basically makes a difference to the fine lines. There is a chance of side effects like scarring, bruising and general discolouration in this method as well.

Adequate sleep, good nutrition, avoiding excessive sun exposure and a good skin care regimen can help in keeping wrinkles at bay for a long time. Moisturising with products that contain plenty of vitamin A and E can also help in reducing fine lines.

Platelet Rich Plasma for Hair and Skin

MD - Dermatology, MBBS
Dermatologist, Delhi
Platelet Rich Plasma for Hair and Skin

Since its inception, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) has been used for healing wounded tissues. It has been majorly used as a remedy for connective tissue damage. Owing to recent advancements in medical research, PRP finds its application in hair restoration therapy.

PRP for hair restoration is a developing non-surgical technique to stimulate hair growth. This therapeutic process finds its vital use in fuelling hair growth in male and female suffering from hair loss. The entire concept of PRP revolves round the body's natural healing power. It amplifies the healing mechanism and enhances the density of hair.

Advantages of PRP:

  1. PRP enhances the growth of follicular hair cells
  2. PRP upgrades the blood supply to scalp
  3. The hair growth cycle is elevated
  4. Swelling of scalp is decreased to a greater extent
  5. All the factors contributing to hair growth are supplied

PRP is essentially an intense source of platelets. It consists of numerous growth factors, which can promote the healing power of skin and scalp. When PRP is used along with hair transplant surgery, it enhances the growth rate of follicular hair grafts. If PRP is used to treat hair loss, it significantly minimizes the rate of hair fall.

The Procedure of PRP:
The complete PRP procedure is very simple and patient experiences minimal pain. Blood is drawn from the patient in an amount equal to that of taken during any blood test. The blood is rotated with a high frequency in a centrifuge to detach the PRP from the rest of the blood. Next, the PRP is concentrated to thrice the normal blood count by spinning it in a closed sterile system. The procedure makes PRP devoid of granulocyte, which otherwise hampers the cell regeneration system of the body. The scalp of the patient is supplied with anesthesia so that the patient undergoes minimal pain. Finally, the PRP is infused into the scalp of the patient. No further medication is required.

How effective is PRP?
PRP is completely safe and natural. It does not involve any kind of modification of cells. It just concentrates the growth factors in blood so as to promote the hair growth. No blood infection occurs during the process. Thus, it can be easily undertaken by anyone suffering from hair loss. However, it is completely a personal choice.

Hello, Bags under eyes — mild swelling or puffiness under the eyes — are common as you age. Bags under eyes are usually a cosmetic concern and rarely a sign of a serious underlying medical condition. At-home remedies, such as cool compresses, can help improve the appearance of bags under eyes. For persistent or bothersome under-eye puffiness, cosmetic treatments are available. Bags under eyes can include - mild swelling, saggy or loose skin, dark circles. Causes: You may not like the way they look, but bags under eyes are usually harmless and don't require medical care. See your doctor if the swelling: Is severe and persistent Is accompanied by redness, itching or pain Affects other parts of your body, such as your legs As you age, the tissue structures and muscles supporting your eyelids weaken. The skin may start to sag, and fat that is normally confined to the area around the eye (orbit) can move into the area below your eyes. Also, the space below your eyes can accumulate fluid, making the under-eye area appear puffy or swollen. Several factors can lead to this, including: Fluid retention due to changes in weather (for example, hot, humid days), hormone levels or eating salty foods Not getting enough sleep Allergies or dermatitis, especially if puffiness is accompanied by redness and itching Heredity — under-eye bags can run in families Lifestyle and Home Remedies: The following tips can help you reduce or eliminate bags under eyes: Use a cool compress. Wet a clean washcloth with cool water. While sitting up, apply the damp washcloth to the skin under and around your eyes for a few minutes using mild pressure. Get enough sleep at night. For most adults, seven to eight hours a night is a good amount of sleep. Sleep with your head slightly raised. Add an extra pillow or prop up the head of your mattress. Or elevate the entire head of the bed a few inches. This helps prevent fluids from accumulating around your eyes as you sleep. Reduce allergy symptoms. Avoid allergens when possible. Try over-the-counter allergy medications. Talk to your doctor about prevention strategies if you develop under-eye reactions due to hair dyes, soaps, cosmetics or other allergens. Medication: Take Apis Mellifica 200/ twice daily for 3 weeks. But the result varies depending on conditions like whether the swelling is oedematous in nature, or there is collection of fat, or there is lax tissue, or if this is a hereditary feature or has some underlying medical condition.

Hi, The tendency for fungus to recur in many adults, especially on the feet and toenails, is a genetic condition. Their skin cannot recognize the fungus as foreign and get rid of it. After having a fungus there for a while the body's immune system learns to live with the fungus and no longer tries to get rid of it. Steps to prevent fungal infection of the skin includes: - Wearing shower sandals in public showering areas, wearing shoes that allow the feet to breathe, and daily washing of the feet with soap and water. - Drying the feet thoroughly and using a quality foot powder can also help prevent fungal infection. - Change clothes -- especially underwear – everyday. - Keep feet clean, cool and dry. Change socks. Wear shoes that "breathe" like leather, rather than plastic. - Make sure shoes fit correctly and are not too tight. - Avoid walking barefoot, especially in bathrooms, locker rooms, gyms, on carpeting, and in public bathing areas. Wear slippers or stand on a towel or piece of paper. - Keep toenails short, cut straight across and avoid ingrown nails. Do not use the same clippers on abnormal nails and normal nails. - Family members and close personal contacts should treat any fungus infections they may have to avoid trading back and forth. - Discard old shoes, boots, slippers and sneakers. Do not share footwear with others. Medication: Tellurium 200/ twice daily and Sulphur 200/ once a day daily - take them for 2 weeks. Revert me back there after.
