Abnormal blood values for a 2-hour 100-gram oral glucose tolerance test are: Fasting: greater than 95 mg/dL 1 hour: greater than 180 mg/dL 2 hour: greater than 155 mg/dL This test is done to rule out gestational diabetes ..its different from overt diabetes...If more than 1 of your blood glucose results is higher than normal, you have gestational diabetes.gestational diabetes is encountered commonly in second trimester of pregnancy due to certain hormonal changes and the test being done at 28 weeks of gestation...gestational diabetic pts are at future increased risk of developing diabetes... But u dont worry all your results are within normal range ...u can take as much fruits as u can ..there is no restriction regarding particular food stuff as of now..just avoid unhealthy fast foods...fried foods etc..

Hi, great n be happy that your all test are normal, there is vast grey area bet'n great, normal n borderline n structural deformity, in this gery area you can reverse the things you may land if your pathology progressed. In ayurveda such condition is termed as bahu-dosh. I. E. You might accumulated toxic n non-toxic physical n emotional garbage. You just have to drain n lead stress free life. With ahar shudhi, achar rasaya, n rasayan dravyas. So take it head on. I really appreciate the modern medicine but current physician are trained to detect diseases n treat them. But at the same time now challenge of this grey area is increasing, as people are choosing to visit physicians well in time before pathology takes wrong turn. This grey area its being well managed by authentic ayurveda where you really count on so choose ayurveda Dr. Near by your residence.

How to contol hypertension without medication?

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist,
The term "hypertension" suggests extra tension. The first and foremost demand on you is to identify the cause of this tension and its management. It mostly has to do with your tendency to get disturbed easily, even for frivolous reasons. You must see which feelings, like sadness, fear, anger and even happiness lie in your system, unexpressed. These feelings do need an outlet every time. If not it will find a suitable organ in your body to express itself and make that organ suffer malfunction or total dysfunction. The favorite organ for most people is the heart, by disturbing the mind. The best is to work on your perception , if you change your perception, you change your response! If you get attached too much to past events, you will feel a lot of sadness and anger. If you get too attached to the future, you will be afraid in anticipation of events not yet manifest. The present is where happiness is found, live only for the day knowing that all your actions are an investment into the future. Learn stress management. Consume a lot of fiber in your diet and have a variety in it too. There is a rock salt found naturally that has low sodium in it. Switch over to that for all future consumption. It is called ?induppu? in the South. Spend time out in the sunlight for at least 30 minutes. Sleep for at least 8 hours a day, preferably more time before midnight. Live in peace with everybody. Do not hold grudges. Forgive and move on. Reduce you intake of fatty food, alcohol, and of course no smoking at all. You need to start an exercise regimen for the rest of your life. Do become spiritually sound, and do some social work or contribute to the poor and needy.

What are symptoms of dengue? How can we prevent it? Can a person suffer again if he has already got treatment once?

What are symptoms of dengue? How can we prevent it? Can a person suffer again if he has already got treatment once?
Hello, dengue as similar to any viral fever it presents with fever, throat pain, generalized weakness, joint pains. It is transmitted by mosquito's so prevention is by avoiding mosquito bites. These mosquito's bite during the day and they breed in and around our home like small collection of water in disposed tyre, means to say need not be sewage. Yes a person can get dengue again as there are 4 serotypes of virus and there is no cross immunity so person infected with one serotype before can be infected by other serotype again so prevention is mainly by avoiding mosquito bites. Hope this helps.

This condition is termed as AMENORRHOEA. Is this first time you are experiencing such problem or you are facing irregular and late periods problem since long time as Amenorrhoea at your age (other than Pregnancy) can be due Hormonal imbalance (HIB) and there are many reasons for HIB and few important ones are------------------ 1. Lifestyle---- •extreme weight loss or weight gain •excessive exercise •stress ---- 2. Polycystic ovary syndrome--------------Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) occurs when very small cysts (small, fluid-filled sacs) develop in the ovaries. The usual symptoms of PCOS are irregular or light periods or no periods at all. This is because, in women with PCOS, ovulation (the release of an egg) may not take place as often as normal. The production of hormones may also be unbalanced, and you could have higher levels of testosterone than normal. Testosterone is a male hormone that women usually have a small amount of. -------------- 3. Thyroid disorders---------------------A thyroid disorder is another possible, but rare, cause of irregular periods. The thyroid gland, found in the neck, produces hormones that maintain the body's metabolism (the chemical processes your body uses to turn food into energy). Your Gynae may test for a thyroid problem by taking a blood test to check levels of thyroid hormones in your blood. ---------------------- 4. Medicines-----------------Prolonged Usage of Certain Anti inflammatory can also lead to absence of Menstrual bleeding------------ So please provide me present and past history of your Amenorrhoea problem or visit a Gynae for a local examination and an Ultrasoung to rule out PCOD and a blood examination to rule out Thyroid or any Hormonal Imbalance-----------------------------Consult me.

Listening to your symtoms it looks like you are developing a condition called oral submucous fibrosis. The treatment of patients with oral submucous fibrosis depends on the degree of clinical involvement. If the disease is detected at a very early stage, cessation of the habit is sufficient. Most patients with oral submucous fibrosis present with moderate-to-severe disease. Moderate-to-severe oral submucous fibrosis is irreversible. Medical treatment is symptomatic and predominantly aimed at improving mouth movements.

Diabetes Proves Deadly for Smokers

MBBS, DFM, FID, CERTIFICATE COURSE IN EVIDENCE BASED DIABETES MANAGEMENT, Certificate Course in Management of Thyroid Disorders, Advanced Certificate Course in Prevention and Management of Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease, M.MED

Diabetes Proves Deadly for Smokers

While it is well known that smoking causes lung cancer, heavy smokers with diabetes are also at increased risk of death from causes other than lung cancer, according to a study being presented next week at the annual meeting of the radiological society of north america (rsna).

Diabetes is a chronic illness in which there are high levels of glucose in the blood. More than 29 million people in the u. S. Have diabetes, up from the previous estimate of 26 million in 2010, according to a report released by the centers for disease control and prevention. One in four people with diabetes doesn't know he or she has it. Having diabetes can also put people at risk for numerous other health complications.

To determine the extent to which diabetes is associated with deaths from lung cancer, other cancers, and other causes among heavy smokers, researchers examined the risk for all-cause mortality among people with and without diabetes within the national lung screening trial (nlst), a massive, multicenter trial that compared low-dose helical ct with chest x-ray for early detection of lung cancer in current and former heavy smokers.

" in our study, we found a statistically significant link between diabetes and all-cause deaths, non-lung cancer deaths and lung cancer deaths in women" said kavita garg, m. D, professor of radiology from the university of colorado -- denver.

For the study, Dr. Garg and colleagues looked at data from 53, 454 participants in the nlst and identified 5, 174 participants who reported having diabetes at screening.

They conducted an analysis of the relative risk for overall mortality, lung cancer mortality, and non-lung cancer mortality associated with diabetes, adjusting for age, gender, body mass index (bmi), and pack-years of smoking. Over the course of the study, there were 3, 936 total deaths, including 1, 021 from lung cancer and 826 from cancers not of the lung.

Participants with diabetes tended to be older, reported more pack-years of smoking, and had a higher bmi than those without diabetes. There were 650 deaths (12.6 percent of patients) among participants with diabetes and 3, 286 deaths (6.8 percent of patients) among participants without diabetes.

" we found that diabetes doubles the risk for all-cause mortality and non-lung cancer mortality among heavy smokers" Dr. Garg said" we also found that women with diabetes have an increased risk of lung-cancer mortality, but did not find the same effect in men"

The researchers continue to analyze data in an effort to better understand the underlying cause. In the meantime, Dr. Garg emphasizes the importance of taking control of diabetes and undergoing lung cancer screening if you're a smoker.

" patients have to take care of their diabetes to maximize the benefit of ct screening for lung cancer" she said" it truly makes a magnitude of difference in mortality risk"
