Bleeding gums are caused by inadequate plaque removal. Plaque contains germs which attack the healthy tissue around the teeth. This will cause the gums to become inflamed and irritated, which may cause them to bleed when brushing or flossing. This is called gingivitis and is the first stage of gum disease.

Activities like cracking nuts, removing bottle tops or ripping open packaging should not be performed by making use of our teeth. It can result in broken or chipped teeth. Our teeth should only be used for chewing food.

Why You Must Not Delay Getting Your Dental Implants?

Why You Must Not Delay Getting Your Dental Implants?

Why you must not delay getting your dental implants?

Dental implants are surgical components like frames or metal posts, which are placed beneath the gums so as to enable a dentist to mount artificial teeth onto them. Since these components blend very easily with your jawbone, they offer excellent support for your teeth replacements.

Can anyone have an implant?

It is important for your teeth and gums to be healthy in order to consider a dental implant. You need to have a strong bone in your jaw so that it can support the replacement tooth after the implants. If you smoke, suffer from diabetes or have certain gum disease you are not suitable for the procedure.

Why should you get started on this procedure?

If you are suitable for the procedure of dental implant, it is highly advisable to not delay it any further. Implants should be fitted within one year of losing a tooth since the jaw bone surrounding a tooth starts to shrink in size and gradually becomes so small that it fails to support an implant.

Here are some reasons as to why you should get started on this procedure:

1. To gain healthy and natural looking teeth without affecting surrounding teeth

Nearby teeth are not altered to support the implant, so your natural teeth remain intact. They help in preventing healthy teeth nearby from shifting, which is very common if there's an empty space next to a healthy tooth for a long period of time. The procedure sees a replacement tooth being positioned in place of the lost tooth so that it not only looks but feels like a natural tooth.

2. To protect your jawbone

Not filling up empty spaces in your mouth can severely affect your jawbone. It begins to lose its firmness and strength as a consequence of no longer being able to support a natural tooth. Dental implants help in stimulating bone growth while preventing bone loss.

3. To keep your face from sagging

Missing teeth can cause your face to sink and sag, giving you a very sad and aged appearance. Dental implants provide you with the chance to retain the natural shape of not only your face but your smile too.

4. They do not move or shift but remain in place

Dental implants resemble your own natural teeth as they fuse with the bone permanently. Moreover, being fixed in one place due to the fusion, you can expect the replacement teeth to not move or shift.

'consult'.

Bleeding is due to gum infection. Go for scaling and polishing. Use a mouthwash twice daily after brushing. Maintain proper oral hygiene habits.

What exposes your teeth to abuse is not how much you eat, but how often you eat. Every time you eat, bacteria convert the carbohydrates in the food into acids that can dissolve your tooth enamel and form cavities

Get scaling done. You may have tarter or plaque deposited between teeth and gum which is causing seelling of gum and bad breath. Rinse you mouth with chlorhexidine mouthwash three times a day after each meal for 15 days. Brush regularly two times daily.

Hi, there are various reasons of bad breath, like impurities in blood, inefficient digestive system, dry mouth (lack of saliva production), gum disease, cavities, plaque and tartar formation around teeth and gums, kind of diet, improper brushing / cleaning of mouth etc. I would advise you to get a thorough physical and dental examination to rule out the cause of bad breath and to solve it permanently.

It would be better if you get an xray done of the concerned area. There could be a cavity in between two teeth which is not visible by naked eye so an xray is advised. So whenever there is food lodgement you will have pain which will be releived once the triggering factor is removed.

Medicines are just for symptomatic relief. When there is severe inflammation of pulp or abcess is there, painkillers may not work in that condition. Surgical drainage of pus and procedure according to prognosis after clinical evaluation and radiographic diagnosis is essential. So visit a nearby dental surgeon and get complete treatment for it. Then only medicines will work as they are just supportive in removing dental infection with dental treatment procedures.

If the mouth ulcer is causing a lot of pain, gently rub a small ice cube over the spot or rinse your mouth with ice-cold water. You could also chew on a clove bud (lavang) and direct the juice generated to the area where the ulcer is located. Clove buds are a great ingredient to cure sore throat too. To prevent the ulcerated area from getting infected, make it a point to rinse your mouth with a little salt water. Remember, this won’t make the ulcer disappear, but it can help reduce the pain. Honey is a natural humectant. It helps reduce scarring and hastens the process of new tissue growth. This, along with its anti-microbial effect ensures faster healing of the mouth ulcer. Chew a few leaves of tulsi along with some water about three to four times every day. This will help in getting rid of ulcers faster and also have a preventive action against their recurrence. Applying a little coconut oil directly onto the mouth ulcer or chewing some coconut (fresh or dry) helps reduce pain and inflammation and hence, ulcers heal faster. Mix some sugar to crushed khus-khus seeds and consume this mixture for instant relief from ulcers. You could apply a little ghee directly to the ulcerated area, or drink a glass of buttermilk two or three times every day. Mouth ulcers left untreated generally go away in a week or so; with these home remedies, you can expect faster relief. However, if you notice an ulcer in the mouth that is persistently present although it does not cause you any pain, do not neglect it or try to treat it with home remedies beyond a few days. Make it a point to see a doctor soon because often, a painless mouth ulcer is one of the earliest signs of oral cancer.

At the age of 13 if your permanent tooth is decayed to such extent that it should get extracted then this is an alarming situation for you. But if the tooth is milk tooth then go for extraction and prevent damage to the underlying permanent tooth. In future keep your mouth clean and healthy.
