A balanced diet is one that gives your body the nutrients it needs to function correctly. In order to get the proper nutrition from your diet, you should obtain the majority of your daily calories from: fresh fruits fresh vegetables whole grains legumes nuts lean proteins ADVERTISEMENT CALORIES What Are Calories? The number of calories in a food is a measurement of the amount of energy stored in that food. Your body uses calories from food for walking, thinking, breathing, and other important functions. The average person needs to eat about 2,000 calories every day to maintain their weight. However, a person’s specific daily calorie intake can vary depending on their age, gender, and physical activity level. Men generally need more calories than women, and people who exercise need more calories than people who don’t. The following examples of daily calorie intake are based on United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) guidelines: children ages 2 to 8: 1,000 to 1,400 calories active women ages 14 to 30: 2,400 calories sedentary women ages 14 to 30: 1,800 to 2,000 calories active men ages 14 to 30: 2,800 to 3,000 calories sedentary men ages 14 to 30: 2,000 to 2,600 calories active men and women over 30: 2,200 to 3,000 calories sedentary men and women over 30: 1,800 to 2,200 calories The source of your daily calories is just as important as the number of calories you consume. You should limit your consumption of “empty calories,” or those that provide little or no nutritional value. The following food groups are essential parts of a balanced diet. Fruits Besides being a great source of nutrition, fruits make tasty snacks. Choose fruits that are in season in your area. They’re fresher and provide the most nutrients. Vegetables Vegetables are primary sources of essential vitamins and minerals. Dark, leafy greens generally contain the most nutrition and can be eaten at every meal. A variety of vegetables will help you obtain the bountiful nutrients that all vegetables provide. Examples of dark leafy greens include: spinach kale green beans broccoli collard greens Swiss chard Grains According to the USDA, Americans consume refined white flour more than any other grain. Mr. lybrate-user, You are right that there should be more research in the field of diabetes, and it is happening. The only difference between various diseases which you have mentioned and diabetes is that those are all infections some caused by bacteria and some by viruses. Infections can be cured by using drugs like antibiotics and anti -virals. Plus vaccination so that our body makes antibodies against the invading organism and fights them. But diabetes, hypertension, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism are part of non-communicable diseases. Some of them particularly diabetes and hypertension are directly linked with the lifestyle a person follows. T1 diabetes is is an autoimmune disease where our own immune cells produce antibodies against Beta cells which secrete Insulin, destroying them. This leads to diabetes which has to be treated only with insulin injection that too for the whole life. In 1921 Insulin was discovered, which is now helping us save life of scores of diabetic patients. Hello if you had got an endoscopy done kindly forward the details pics of endoscopy would recommend some thing. He might have had a ulcer or wound that needs evaluation. Hello. There is no medication or food for improving eye sight or to get rid of glasses. Get your vision tested and wear glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik as your age is now 21 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.

Stress can take a toll on your health in more ways than one and your sexual health is greatly and adversely impacted by stress. Stress can take a toll on the emotional relationship you share with your partner and also your own physical health, thus resulting in a hampered sex life.

Stress and Our Libido:

By now, we know that hormones affect our bodies in numerous ways from childhood to adolescence, pregnancy, menopause and beyond.
