Kindly show me x-rays of affected part. In the mean time you may sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring folding beds or thick matress are harmful do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contact your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Why not discuss with me in a video conference? (facility provided by lybrate. Com)

Rheumatoid arthritis is very much controllable disease. With the advancement of drugs for Rgeumatoid people live like other normal people with proper use of DMARDS (disease modifiying anti rheumatic drugs. Drugs will help you preventing further progression of disease and joint damage but once the joints get damaged totally drugs have little role in preventing further progression. So my advice will consult any Rheumatologist of your area who can guide you properly. Hope this will help you.

Most probably you are suffering from oa of knee knee surgery-total knee replacement (tkr) is quite safe & gives uniform results. Surgery should be done when patient is still active & will be able to take benefit of surgery. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem. Kindly show me x rays before a final decision can be taken. You will be thoroughly investigated before surgery is under taken. Risk in surgery is less than the risk in crossing road.

What is causes and treatments for scoliosis and what are the possibilities of that.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
Depending on the severity and location of pain, degenerative scoliosis is treated with one or more non-surgical options, or with surgery. Most patients with degenerative scoliosis do not need surgery. The goals of non-surgical treatment are to: reduce pain, rather than to correct the spinal curvature.

I have been suffering from lower back pain for the last few months. Acute back spasm was diagnosed and I was advised complete bed rest with physiotherapy and medicines. The x-ray didn't report anything serious as well It's been sometime now I still feel pain in my back with the pain sometime increasing towards the thigh muscles as well. Try few things for your back pain: - Apply Ice and Heat Heating pads and cold packs can comfort tender trunks. Most doctors recommend using ice for the first 48 hours after an injury -- particularly if there is swelling — and then switching to heat. You can use whichever you find comforting as long as your skin is protected. - Limit Bed Rest Studies show that people with short-term low-back pain who rest feel more pain and have a harder time with daily tasks than those who stay active. -Keep Exercising Activity is often the best medicine for back pain. Simple exercises like walking can be very helpful. But remember to move in moderation, Stay away from strenuous activities like gardening and avoid whatever motion caused the pain in the first place. -Maintain Good Posture most people have poor posture when going about their daily activities, putting unnecessary strain on their backs. -Strengthen Your Core Most people with chronic back pain would benefit from stronger abdominal muscles. If the abdominals are weak, other areas must pick up the slack. When we strengthen the abdominals, it often reduces the strain on the lower back. - Improve Flexibility Too much tension and tightness can cause back pain. By increasing flexibility you need to put an equal load throughout the body from the feet all the way up to the head. -Sleep the Right Way The amount of rest you get is important, and so is the position you get it in. Sleeping in a bad position or on a mattress without support can cause back pain. Back sleepers should put pillows under their knees. Side sleepers should place pillows between their knees to keep their spine in a neutral position. Stomach sleeping causes the neck and head to twist and can put undue stress on the back. -Use Relaxation Techniques Research shows that practices such as meditation, deep breathing and yoga, which help put the mind at rest, can do wonders for the back. -See a Specialist Developing an individualized exercise plan is essential to managing chronic back pain. Some patients need more core strengthening while others benefit mainly from stretching and improving flexibility. Please consult a Orthopedic Physiotherapist for the right exercise plan. Best wishes.

Your weigh may be the problem. You should be around 65 kgs. Try to reduce your weight. If your job is to stand for long time. Follow few tips. * take breaks frequently. *place one foot on a small stool or raised area and alternate with other foot every 20 to 30 minutes gap. If your job is in sitting. Follow this tip. *lie at your back - fill the gap under your lower back so that your lower back rests fully on ground - then raise both your legs (without bending knees) just 5 degrees from ground - repeat it for 5 to 10 counts. Important notice -should not be done by holding breath.
