In high uric acid avoid few diets i. E. High purine-rich foods, milk products, protein foods, meat, dried beans, dried peas, mushrooms, whey proteins which are used in zym, alcohol, diuretic medicines. Eat balanced diet, eat banana, take amino acid rich diets, l- glutamine like supplements, whole grain, oats, green veg, low cholesterol foods, plenty of water in day time, do test kidney function test every 6 months to monitor levels of uric acid. Ayurveda,
Yoga pose for Lower Back Pain.

Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice. A research group from Boston University School of Medicine tested yoga's effects on lower-back pain. Over twelve weeks, one group of volunteers practiced yoga while the control group continued with standard treatment for back pain. The reported pain for yoga participants decreased by one-third while the standard treatment group had only a five percent drop. Yoga participants also had a drop of 80% in the use of pain medication.

Mr. Lybrate-user, 8.29 mg is high concentration, upper limit being 7 mg. So it is possible that uric acid could be the cause for pain. To reduce uric acid intake of purine containing foods should be reduced. Foods like red meat, organ meat, certain fishes and sea foods like herring, haddock, trout, sardines, salmon, scallops, mushrooms, mussels etc. Avoid sweetened aerated drinks, alcohol and high milk products. Skin less chicken, eggs, other milk products (low fat) and a variety of vegetables are good. Plus if need be then drugs helping reduction of uric acid level in blood may be taken. Thanks.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have mentioned pain in lower back region as his main problem. You are actually very young to have persistent pain. If there is only localized pain in back region and leg pain with no other associated symptoms like numbness, paresthesias etc, and no systemic symptoms like fever, loss of appetite, loss of weight etc, my advice to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or even tab paracetamol which suits you - intensive physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home, start with tens as a modality which is good for radiculopathy - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied 3-4 times in a day - analgesic spray for local application like dynapar qps spray can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc in case you are having back pain. If there is no improvement in 2-3 weeks with this conservative management, we will need to evaluate you further in form of dynamic x rays to look for any instability as a cause for pain and some blood investigations to rule out any deficiencies etc. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.
