Toothpicks can be an alternative to use for flossing if dental floss is not available. Remember not to be too harsh while using it.

Is scaling removal cause enamel loss.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist,
Is scaling removal cause enamel loss.
Certainly not. Loss due to deposits on tooth is much, much greater than preventive cleaning procedures. Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along. Advance procedures can be done with laser. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

I'm having pulpitides on my two wisdom teeth. Now I'm taking antibiotics for three days. And I'm going to get my teeth removed 3 days later. The problem is that my heart rates keep accelerated, and I have some headaches too. Looks like my infections are not 100% under control. Q1, Can I still go for teeth extraction 3 days later? Or can I still wait for 3 days? Q2, What should I do to minimize any complication during and after the surgery? Thanks a billion.

Hello, it is a systemic problem. You need to consult a physician, and get your blood pressure and cardiac levels checked. Under the physician's recommendation, you can get your tooth removed or not.

Root of gum at the upper jaw is swollen and sometimes it's aching. If I press with finger some blood comes. I am having this more than two months. Treatment dental pain teeth pain may be due to various reasons like infection, sensitivity or trauma. If your teeth is decayed it is better to get it filled or treated by a dentist. If you are opting for root canal treatment do not forget to get a crown on the effected tooth. If you want to go for only medicinal treatment so let me tell you only medicine are not going to be very effective untill you get this treated by a dentist.

Dear Lybrate user, sensitive teeth can be due to cavities, gum recession, some old fillings etc. A proper clinical checkup would be required to establish the exact cause so consult your dentist immediately and pursue the treatment. You can use anti-sensitivity toothpastes for sometime. Apply it on the affected teeth, leave for 4-5 minutes and then brush it off. To maintain strong teeth and healthy gums, brush and floss regularly, use a soft toothbrush and brush gently using proper technique. Pay a visit to your dentist every 6 months.

GOOD BRUSHING TECHNIQUE FOR KIDS

GOOD BRUSHING TECHNIQUE FOR KIDS

Good brushing should take at least 2 minutes time.

1. Divide the mouth into 6 sections and take 20 secs for each section.

2. Start with the outer surfaces of the lower jaw

3. Then the inner and the biting surfaces

4. Repeat the upper jaw in the same manner. Small circular motion near gum line is most effective.

Is it possible after a tooth extraction the germs or bacteria still remains in the mouth & can cause problems?

Is it possible after a tooth extraction the germs or bacteria still remains in the mouth & can cause problems?
Hi. As the cavity or tooth decay is heavily influenced by lifestyle, what we eat, how well we take care of our teeth, the presence of fluoride in our water and toothpaste. Heredity also plays a role in how susceptible your teeth may be to decay. So, there are chances of getting cavity again!
