Hello- Pain in vagina without sex is not normal. It can be pre-symptom of a vaginal infection or cyst which must be taken care of before the disease gets worse.

Eat Those Vegetables:

M.Sc - Dietitics / Nutrition
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Eat Those Vegetables:
Atleast 5 servings of vegetables a day is a must for this list of healthy eating tips. One serving is equal to ½ cup of cooked vegetables or 1 cup of leafy green vegetables. Not only will these nutrient-packed items fill you up with their fiber content, they will provide your immune system with all the fighting power it needs.

Doctor I wil take folvite as you suggested. Can you please give me details as why I sweat a lot and how can folvite help control me. Also I had pregnancy thyroid and few months back I had done test and there was no thyroid. Should I do tsh test again? or I can start folvite?

MBBS
General Physician, Mumbai
If you r not on drugs for hypothyroidism than test tsh levels and revert back with reports and sweating is due to hyperstimulation of para sympathetic nervous system and folic acid might help your axons of the nerves to function normally.

What is clitoris? Which parts of female is clitoris? How I stimulate her clitoris for a minute?

MBBS, MCCEE, Fellowship in Sexual Medicine
Sexologist, Jaipur
. Clitoris is a small gland of projection at the superior aspect of vagina from where thin frills of inner lips of vagina arise. It is one of the most erotic area that has most nerve endings, so is when rubbed can give you lot of pleasure. It is not wrong to fulfill your desires by either fingering your vagina inside or rubbing the clitoris. Any way fingering the vagina or rubbing in that area, is a way of pleasing yourself. By this you are not disturbing your virginity and not doing wrong. Though I have elaborated here but still further any question let know.

I heard that abstinence / lack of orgasm can lead to hormonal imbalances (overproduction of estrogens etc.), that can cause various health problems (breast nodules, cysts, fibroma etc.). Is this accurate, or just a myth? I also read on internet that oxytocin is a wonder for breast health. Women who not have sexual activity or doesn't masturbate have a higher risk for breast cancer, because oxytocin inhibits cancerous cells. It is true? I am asexual and I have 40 years old and I am a virgin.

MBBS, DNB - Obstetrics & Gynecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
Hello Breast cancer is associated with estrogen. So female who have early menarche or late menopause are at higher risk. It is not associated with abstinence/sex/masturbation. However nulliparous women (women who have no kids) are at a higher risk of cancer than multiparous women. Lactation&breast feeding are protective against breast cancer. If you are worried about breast cancer you can do the following: 1 self breast examination once every month. 2 clinical examination by doctor on yearly basis. 3 mammography as advised by your doctor consult me for further queries.

Before 8 month ago I had ectopic pregnancy in that case my one fallopian tube removed but now I want to conceive so please tell me what should I do.

MBBS DGO PGDCC
Gynaecologist, Belgaum
U undergo hsg test for patency of other tube. If the other tube is patent, you can try for pregnancy when the follicle comes on that side. You need to undergo follicular study for it.

I am 27years old. I had an ectopic pregnancy operation before 6 months. It was a laser operation. But from few days I am having pain in my navel stitch. Wht should I do.

Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MBBS, MD - Community Medicine

Hello after 6 months, normally there should be no problem with past surgery. The pain can be controlled by anti-inflammatory medicine. However get a checkup done to rule out any problem with the stitches.

I am 32 years old unmarried girl. I am worried about my pregnancy life. I have read that giving birth after 30 age can be difficult for mother and child. Is it true?

M.B.S.(HOMEO), MD - Homeopathy
Homeopath, Visakhapatnam
Ages 30 to 34 your body Fertility begins to decline at age 30, but this change happens gradually, over the next five years or so. If you need infertility treatment, your chances of success are higher than they are for an older woman. For women under age 35 the success rate of in vitro fertilization (IVF), for example, is 25 to 28 percent; for those over age 40, that rate drops to 6 to 8 percent. One study found that the rate of cesarean sections was close to two times higher among women ages 30 to 34 than among those in their 20s, although doctors don't know why. Your emotional self "Women who have been fully involved in their job in their 20s often feel emotionally ready to start a family as they enter their next decade, says Glazer. "And they have the energy and the resources to do it. But they may also feel pulled in different directions. They worry about whether they'll be able to return to their work life—or whether they'll even want to. Risks to your baby The miscarriage rate is 11.7 percent. By age 30 your risk of having a baby with Down syndrome is 1 in 952, and a baby with any chromosomal abnormality, 1 in 385.

Planning to get pregnant. Is it ok to take becosules capsules as folic acid supplements for 2_3 months before pregnancy? I am afraid as max intake of folic acid is 400mcg, but becosules contain folic acid 1.4mg. Is it safe?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
Yes it is safe. Minimum requirement is 400 mcg but there is tablet with that strength. You can take becosules safely. Other preparations have 5 mg of folic acid which should be combined with vit b12.
