I am not getting sound sleep which keeps me tired. I am not getting a reason to it. Please help.
1) maintain a regular sleep routine go to bed at the same time. Wake up at the same time. Ideally, your schedule will remain the same (+/- 20 minutes) every night of the week. A good sleep hygiene routine promotes healthy sleep and daytime alertness. 2) avoid sleeping during the daytime. It can disturb the normal pattern. 3) avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol near bedtime. While alcohol may speed the onset of sleep, it creates problems in he second half of sleep. 4) exercise can promote good sleep. Exercise should be taken in the morning or late afternoon. Yoga, can be done before bed to help. 5) have a quiet, comfortable bedroom. Set your bedroom thermostat at a comfortable temperature. Generally, a little cooler is better than a little warmer. Turn off the tv and other extraneous noise that may disrupt sleep. Background'white noise' like a fan is ok. If your pets awaken you, keep them outside the bedroom. Your bedroom should be dark. Turn off bright lights. Have a comfortable mattress. 6) avoid heavy meals close to bedtime. 7) ensure adequate exposure to natural light. 8) avoid emotionally upsetting conversations and activities before trying to go to sleep. Do not think of, or bring your problems to bed. 9) stop using all your digital devices and stop looking at digital screens be it mobile phones or televisions at least 1 hour before the time you plan to sleep. Instead try reading a fiction book near bedtime so it makes you help relaxed and de-stressed. Sleep well live healthy and live longer. If you have tried all these and still have problems, please consult me for prescription medication.

avoid day time sleep, avoid tea, coffee, cola in late evening and after.. take 8 hours of sleep in night. 10 pm to 6 am is good timing.. avoid stress. take healthy diet. do regular exercise.

It can actually make you unhealthy. 1. avoid caffeine found in coffee,tea , chocolate,cola,and some pain relievers.[four to six hours before bedtime.] 2. quiet, dark, and cool environment can help promote sound sleep. . [Use heavy curtains, or an eye mask to block light, and also keeping computers, TVs, and other work materials out of the room will help promote mental bonding between your bedroom and sleep] 3. Avoid stressful, stimulating activities like doing work, discussing emotional issues. Physically and psychologically stressful activities can cause the body to secrete the stress hormone cortisol, which is associated with increasing alertness.

I am 50 years old house wife. And last one year I am not able to lift my right hand up to my head. It gives lot of while lifting my hand. I have consulted a orthopedic doctor he suggested combiflame tablet with some physical excersice. But gives relief for 2 or 3 hours after allowing the tablet. Can any doctor or physiotherapist suggest permanent remedy for this pain.

What you have described is very classic history of rotator cuff muscles tear. There is definitely cure for it. First confirm the diagnosis by checkup of shoulder and mri of shoulder at 3 tesla mri machine. After mri reports, I can tell you treatment.

Hi 1) wear comfortable sports shoes 2) make daily routine of exercise 3) rule out calcium and vit d deficiency 4) do proper warm up before exercise and cool down after exercise 5) do stretching of legs do exercise under supervision of skilled physiotherapist. Pain legs after running is due to muscle cramps. Take plenty of fluids and multivitamins. Massage of calf before sleeping will help you a lot.

Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings. This will relieve your problem. Inform after 5 days.

Have vit d & calcium levels checkup Avoid sitting on floor crossed leg & squatting position, even try not to climb stairs frequently Do knee isometrics- lie down & keep towel roll under your knee & press it, hold for 5sec then relax, 20 repetitions each knee, twice daily Straight leg raising- raise your leg hold for 5sec then relax, 10 repetitions each leg, twice daily Sit on high surface with your legs hanging on the side, have about 500grams weight tied to your ankle, then move your leg up hold position for 3sec then relax, 10 repetitions each twice daily. Make sure your back should be straight, it should not move backwards or sideways.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Burning sensation could be a manifestation of a systemic disease like diabetes or any metabolic abnormality in which case there is a neuropathy, or it can also be a manifestation of compression of nerves in lower back region or sometimes it can be due to vascular causes. My advise will be to start with vitamin b 12 supplementation and medications for neuropathic symptoms like gabapentin and pregabalin in small dosages but it will be wise to consult his physician to find safety in his case. Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. There are multiple causes of shoulder pain which can include issues in ligaments, tendons, bursa or the joint itself. I will advise you that if you have a localized pain in your shoulder without any associated swelling, redness or any other sign of infection or inflammation, then start with physical therapy and anti inflammatory medications. See if your pain starts improving in 2-3 weeks time, then its ok otherwise I advise mri of the shoulder to see whats going on because 6 months is long time for pain to continue do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.
